Does anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable price? PS3s are on their way out and they have no right to cost this much.

You can get them for $120 at ebgames with a 500GB hard drive preowned.
At least with ebgames they give you a 3 month warranty.
If you don't go preowned you're going to have to fork out the $300, there's just no way around it.

Yes. Unless you have a half decent PC, in which case you can emulate PS1 games perfectly and most PS2 games really well. But then you'd still need a PS4 and PS3.

EB Games has the fat model with backwards compatibility for $250, and a 250GB Slim for $124.

There is literally no reason to avoid EB games refurbished stuff, the quality is always somewhere between great and acceptable, plus if it breaks they're liable.

I'm mostly considering getting a puraystaishon so I can play GTA V and some Metal Gear Solid games, so I might as well just stick to PC, unless a lot of the newer MGS titles are still PS exclusive

I am a plebeian who bought a prebuilt with a toaster for a graphics card and a series of fine china plates for the HDD; the hard drive is crashing (I haven't turned on the tower in a year) and the GPU is only good enough to run some games at mid-level settings, but not many new/recent releases

basically I need a new hard drive, a new GPU, and possibly a new power supply
