There were a lot of funny dialogue in Rogue, like the guards pondering on why they have to take so long to fire their rifles if you mange upon a group, or Shay saying "I can see my house from here!" if you climb up a synch post.

AC1 was fantastic except for that the world outside of the missions was really empty

In AC2 they started to fix it and did it pretty well, but it also sowed the seeds of the death of the franchise because they added so much mobile game-type of mindless timesink shit that didn't fit rest of the game at all.

The games always manage to nail the atmosphere of just exploring the cities casually and the ambient mood, but everything else is so fucking shallow.

I weep at thinking what a competent developer could do with the engine.

A couple of them are Impossible in both Black Flag and Rogue.

AC1 is still my favorite game.

It had great music, atmosphere, characters, even the villains were great because it was so philosopher like. Shit even nonAC games haven't come close to the bad guys in that game.

A lot of people hate on the game for the gameplay, but in my opinion AC has NEVER had good gameplay. Sure 2 and after is more polished, but it isn't very good. It's KILLSTREAK to win. It's hardly interactive.
And climbing is better only because it's faster.

I did a full vanilla run, with only a pistol holster upgrade. All the enemies become damagesponges somewhere before Arno gets outsted by the Assassins, which makes some forced-combat missions feel like a chore (hence the smokebomb spamming)
