But all I can see is: his submarines are twice as good but can be countered by no water maps.

Even pre-patched Storm Columns weren't completely immune to a siege even as they deflected 95% of missiles fired at them. I recall that one mission in Yuri's revenge where the Premier needs to be delivered to the airport and Yuri has a wall of the psychic towers and miniguns. The player actually needs to utilize the Iron Curtain superweapon, just to counter a base defense.

Sounds great so long as your opponent sends them in ones and twos with no support from ground units. Besides, that kind of mindset keeps you on the defensive.

Doesn't make them any less enjoyable and memorable if only the balance was a bit better

Battlefortress is the ultimate solution to any swarm of Saucers. Have 4 or 5 of them and you can be relatively safe. Besides, GI guardian's range in them is quite big, and later on they can be used very effectively in offensive.

Funn part is making a MAstermind out of BF and Psy Commandos.

My heart goes to Soviets though. Appart from making swarms of Flack trucks, they have no usefull AA.

Siege Choppers are just good for that - siege. And Non-missile infantry.

There should've been two tiers of AA for Allies and Soviets - T2 being missile turrets and T1 flack/gun.

Soviets should've had a MIG, while Harrier/Black Eagle should have had more missiles that also were AA.
