I resubbed recently and the game is terrible. To put this into perspective, I rolled a blood elf and had a great time reminiscing in Eversong and the Ghostlands then after that was faced with the horrible reality of what WoW has become. Unless they've invoked some black magic to make solo questing hard and make dungeon-running not an anonymous "mechanical Turk" experience, then Legion will have nothing to do with Burning Crusade.

With all the same people? I played Nostalrius for a while, and the difference was night and day: since dungeons were hard and actually required good play and crowd control, not to mention some work to form a group, socializing was necessary. Now that dungeons are just "rely on people with heirlooms to carry the group," the game is unplayable.
If you actually have a group to go back to, then you're unbelievably lucky. To the point that you should consider buying lottery tickets.

considering the fact that blizzard isn't forcing every single player in the game into raiding, and instead is giving players the choice of world quests, suramar, mythic + dungeons, rep grinding for an extra dungeon, and pvp that is not balanced around raiding spells and rotations, but is balanced for its own sake with premade stat sheets and pvp only talents, I think playing for a couple of months wouldn't be a waste of money (on the other hand, getting a year subscription would be a huge waste of money, because they probably will stop supporting the expansion in less than 12 months).

Then basically Legion could just be nonstop projectile diarrhea and still be basically playable. Not like that should dissuade you from playing, but maybe it should temper your thread-creation on Sup Forums...

There's no such thing as an unbiased response. The world would be a much better place if people understood that.
In a general sense, the expansion will almost certainly be terrible, just unbelievable garbage, because of all the poor design choices they've made since mid-Lich-King. But dumpster diving with friends is still fun.

I think WoD might have been a wake up call for Blizzard after they tanked their numbers so hard. So far they seem to be at least attempting to reverse the shit decisions while adding some sort of progression beyond the linear raiding tier system.

It's kind of shitty that they stripped abilities away, but if they plan to keep introducing new ones each expansion, the right time to clear away the excess was when they completely revamped class and spec identity.

I really have no idea what WoD was trying to do, but it didn't feel anything like BC to me despite taking place in what is technically the same setting.

Really, Legion feels more WotLK-like than BC-like so far, but I think they're aiming for a mix of the two. BC theme, LK setting.
They have you going back to Karazhan and Ulduar, for instance.
Really hoping they bring back a revamped Kara, actually.

Omg the soundtrack alone from Ulduar sends shivers down my spine that was one of many memberable raiding experiance I had!

There's nothing to really say. It was significantly better than cata and wod but didn't really advance anything. It was just a bunch of content until we got over a year of siege.
