Ah yes the circlejerk that is professional game journalism...
Your point?
>Excellent map design
>Route 66
>Temple of Anubis
Yeah, alright
I'd dock any game one or two points for a stupid grindy multiplayer progression system, I think that's fair. Multiplayer progression systems are a cancer.
>battleborn
paid journalism when
It's not just IGN. It's everyone. SFV is just like Overwatch but it's not a Skinner box to the same extent yet got flamed by everyone for lack of content but Overwatch gets high praise for barebones content.
R6 looks shit. Be fair. Who the fuck even wants multiplayer R6?
>-y
it's the best selling shooter Ubi has ever released so a decent amount. Rainbow Six MP was popular in previous games.
bruh that's ign in 2016, what are you trying to get at
plenty of people
one is clearly more fun, based on the rating.
*one of the best
The difference is SFV had less modes and content than even old fighting games.
FPSs have done the multi-only, no content thing for a decade and a half.
Siege is fucking dogshit and the meme that it's good needs to end
yeah but Siege was downgraded really hard from the E3 trailer and that means it's really bad and everyone should hate it.
>R6
>Progression issues
Excuse me, what? The game is straightforward as fuck when it comes to progression, weapon customization is cheap as hell and operators increase in cost as you buy more.
>barebones content
21 characters and 11 maps that when combined provide a ton of of different play experiences
riiiiiight...
Don't you know user, single player content is just something else for people to criticize. But if you remove it entirely, that's less content to be judged.
HANAMURA
>class shooter
>holy trinity
>different play experiences
lol
What's wrong with Route 66?
This thread is b8 but ill bite.
Siege was a fucking technical mess at launch. Servers were fucking up, bugs all over, crashes galore, matchmaking, game wasn't even working on Windows 7 and the content was dogshit. Overwatch, whilst you can't even compare the two, is polished, has all its systems in place, is running even on weaker configs and will have a steady flow of content coming soon.
Siege got a barely working anti cheat system last week. Overwatch has a good one that already caused a massive shitstorm among the scripters using the cheats.
Point short: Fuck you OP.
Defense is completely fucked on every single map that isn't king of the hill. Blizzard can't balance for shit or create decent maps.
>nearly every fighting game this gen has had tons of singleplayer and multiplayer content
>sfv releases with a barebones multiplayer and repetitive singleplayer at full price with future updates requiring you to grind or spend money
Overwatch promises everything for free.
The main issue woith overwatch is that the offense characters are too good that defense character are unviable inc ompetitive
It's IGN, after all. They don't know shit. 75% of the maps in Overwatch are complete trash, from a balance standpoint.
you really expected "modern cop" to score higher than blizzards new mega-marketed ip?
What, you like arguing just for arguings sake eh, faggot
Sadly,Overwatch offers characters that can't be customized to adapt to your playstyle (In fact, you adapt to the character you play just like in a MOBA) and levels that are not as interactive gameplaywise as R6's.
The quantity of game elements a game offers isn't more important than the importance of them.
Route 66 and Anubis are two of the best maps behind King's Row, Ilios, and Numbani. Chingchong tower is the least fun and Hanamura is the most imbalanced
Hanamura is my favorite map
not every company knows how to milk money from a product like blizzard
>olympic skins
>only found in special buy-only drop boxes
>only 1 item is guaranteed to be new rio shit
>lots of unused voice lines and icons as filler
>full of old content
>limited time only
>requires real money
The amount of shitters Overwatch attracts, have any of your played a multiplayer game before?
>Buy only
wrong
first off, you get one free
Second off, they replace normal loot boxes you get from leveling while the event is going on
I should know, as I haven't paid those jews for anything but the game, and I've gotten fucking champion zarya twice, as well as some unique voicelines and other useless crap
Seriously just trash everything that isn't king of the hill. Well, payload can be fun, but trying to contend the cart during overtime isn't really fun in my opinion. I really wish I could choose to queue up only for king of the hill maps. This is a time where tf2's server browser really is a huge improvement.
I was shocked before but a large number of people are playing OW as their first competitive fps, I can confirm this to you
>buy-only
How embarrassing
Better just close the tab and hide away from the fact that you just put out that you've never actually played the game
>siege
>b2p game yet still have to grind for operators
>Sup Forums loves it
>overwatch
>b2p with heroes and maps free
>Sup Forums hates it
lol
>progression issues
>unlock all operators first weekend i had the game
I fucking hate graviton surge.
You're what's wrong with gaming. Why not always ask for more? You're hurting the majority of gamers when you suck developers shit down your throat.
You probably vote.
>Overwatch
>Heroes cannot be customized by the player at all in terms of their gameplay
lol
>Throw mine as Junkrat
>Genji deflects it
>I detonate it anyway and it kills a Tracer on my team, showing up as a teamkill on the killfeed
HOOLEY DOOLEY
>I was shocked before
Why ? OW was build in large part to attract people who never played shooters before.
>if you oversimply things they all look the same
top argument, lol
but unlike a moba you can switch at anytime, to adapt to the situation
not even shitting on R6, just that the initial comparison with SF IV held little water
>Sup Forums hates overwatch
lmao
Easy unlocks can be a progression issue
reviewer I guess never got the free renown from the videos, operations, and the boosted renown you get for playing T-Hunt on higher difficulties compared to casual and ranked
>Different reviewers
Literally kill yourself you fat piece of shit
>Sup Forums shits on p2w games
>r6 puts out new operators that have op as shit weapons and skills and then locks them to people who paid extra
>after a set amount of time, they release these operators to the rest of the public at a massive in-game currency cost (25000, in which you earn 350-450 per game in ranked)
Also, fucking nerf pulse.
>Defending Ubisoft
Right on, gamerbro. How about we have a quick sesh in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Siege and then jump over into the Dark Zone in Tom Clancy's The Division™.
>easy unlock
New DLC operators cost 25,000 renown. You get like 200 max a match.
>Leveling system does nothing
>Window bugs
>Leaning bugs
>Lighting is either too bright or too dark
>New operators are expensive as fuck urging you to spend real money
>New operators are unbalanced and OP
>Blackbeard
Fuck the bullshit op operators how fucking hard is it to balance shit
Switching classes midgame is one of the good things FPSs added to the MOBA genre, you are totally correct
>about 50 games to get an operator
that's fucking nothing. Overwatch has the most powerful weapons locked behind what is essentially a paywall. You have to win a game in competitive to get ONE point and you need THREE HUNDRED to get a weapon. Want to get there a bit quicker? Pay up, goy!
>It's another Sup Forums deludes themselves into thinking their opinions are more valid than professional reviews.
>You're what's wrong with gaming
lol
> Why not always ask for more?
because that would result in constant bitching and gamers who would never bee happy because you could have always asked for more
What kind of fucked up logic is that?
>You're hurting the majority of gamers when you suck developers shit down your throat.
I played the beta. I liked what I played and so I payed for it. If I felt it didn't have enough to offer I wouldn't have bought it. I have over 130 hours of gameplay on it. It's 'more' than enough for the $40 I paid
you swap heroes mate
that's how it works
>most powerful weapons
That gold is really boosting that damage something fierce, huh?
>hating fun
Not really similar games, but I enjoy siege much much more. I think it's a better concept, but poorly executed because ubisoft
So do i.
I think the game suffers from some naivete. I say this because Blizzard applied moba-esque skill groups to each hero and expected it to play it. That, imo, is way too simple, and too stale for players already experienced with competitive games. I don't believe this is too farfetched to say, as many people often complain about the oversimplicity of the game. Granted, most of them are really embellished accusations without much content, but we must remember that the tone is taken only because of mindset of going against the current leads to some aggression in making points.
What I really want to suggest to the game devs if I ever get the chance, or I guess just something I hope will be implemented, or no, something I wish will be implemented in another game, as I believe Blizzard stands firmly by overwatch, and this suggestion of mine will be a game-changer, is the addition of "sub abilities" that open up to smaller and less consequential responses in any situation.
One example could be items. Another could be different aspects to the skills, like a charge ability or ana's grenade which she can make the choice to throw at enemies or teammates. That's the kind of flexibility I am looking for. It may not actually lead to a real game changing moment, but it gives players the feeling that they have some degree of freedom in being able to respond to how the game goes. Instead, you have graviton surge, a simple ability that you point and click to gather enemies in a huge aoe. If you're caught in that, that's pretty much the game, you're already counting down your respawn timer, and you're only saved if they smoehow manage to give up the chance to punish your team for walking near zarya.
With the skills that the heroes have, the game seems way too cut and dry. The game will always go the same way - which is why zarya is such a top pick. There's no slight disparity between good tier and bad tier - it's a giant fucking canyon. And I thin- word limit
>the most powerful weapons
golden guns
the most powerful weapons
are you for real?
they're cosmetics
So you admit you vote
>OP as shit weapons
>implying the weapons are the problem with the new ops
>also implying that 25k renown is hard to get
you get much more than 350-450 in ranked unless you're shit, in which case you can farm renown through T-hunt.
Weapons are fine, some of the best weapons in the game are on base game ops (Mac-11, FAMAS, M1014, AUG) And even if you're using garbage guns like Fuze's LMG if you can aim better than the enemy you win the exchangement
unless he's Blackbeard who is the only OP DLC operative
not continuing this post, I have a dick to rub
>professional
> xD
What's the difference between a reviewer and a player when it comes to validating an opinion?
I worked as a reviewer for a small magazine and some coworkers couldn't accept the idea some players had finer opinions due to experience alone.
nigga, getting 8000 points and clean sweeping 3-0 nets no more than 500 currency unless you're using paid boosters.
T-hunt is a garbage mode. .
It's not hard to get it's just a pain in the ass
All of the people I play with whine about the weapons
So you may be right user they are shit at games
This is a good post and I'm glad of reading it.
Thank you, user
Not everyone wants to play some brown and grey tacticool shooter. Overwatch is colourful and doesn't make you sit and watch if you happen to die
b-baka, don't make fun of an old lady
>exelent map deseign
>tactical deph
mein sides
Honestly my favorite R6 multiplayer ever was R6 Vegas 2 terrorist hunt. Even if it was repetitive as fuck it was still fun as shit
You actually understood the underlying game design choices behind Overwatch and offered both insight and ideas that fit the game. That's actually quite hard to find in Sup Forums, kudos to you.
>professional reviewers
>a bunch of incompetent faggots feminists and nu-males who got kiked out from journalism and only had video games as an escape route
>payed
experience alone doesn't do jack shit, you want people who is able to be objective as well and beign able to communicate the game experience to the players and give them a clear idea of what to expect. Good reviewers should ignore things like fanboyism and nitpicking at all costs, which is the opposite of what people that posts on Sup Forums does.
But then again, i feel real pitty for the fool who thinks this place is meant for serious discussion any longer.
You stopped to read it so I offer it right back, thanks friend
Can you guys post R6 memes? Mines are getting stale, I need more.
>user from 4ching
>mysognist neckbeard fanboy who lives life antagonizing everything that comes across his short sight.
Ain't stereotypes fun?
Overwatch should've launched with two of each class locked behind XP grind, and have Ana be retailer exclusive pre-order
Go play your dead COD: Hardline
>misogynist neckbeard fanboy
could you be any more obvious
If the meme well is drying up, you know what this means, friend... I'm sorry.
No, nobody gives a shit about Siege.
You're totally right in everything you said.
Including the Sup Forums stuff.
You make no effort in your shitpostong yet you expect a better reply?
You must be from Sup Forums or something.
>underlying game design choices behind Overwatch
>reworked TF2 class setups behind a massive marketing budget
Have you considered that review scores are completely arbitrary and obsessing over them only leads you down the path of the delusional fanboy?
It means that I myself must create more.
...right?
This thread says otherwise
You sound like a autistic kid i knew. He would rage about shit all the time and act like he knew everything but he was always wrong.
Don't be so obvious next time, try subtlety, you'll get more people that way.
There's a general for it on /vg/ so clearly people do.
Siege
>abusing peeker's advantage to win
Overwatch
>abusing ultimates to win
Wow, both games are Q to win
>Get game on sale
>Try the multi
>90% of my deaths are to people peaking around corners where I can only see 1/4 of a pixel of their head
>Meanwhile they can see my entire body
>Some faggot with a fucking shield on his gun therefore preventing headshots
>Has one of the most powerful guns in the game
Least T hunt is fun.
Brings tears to me eyes.
Complaining about Blackbeard. Literally just git gud.
Da fuq is a skinner box?
just take a look at this thread
