Game gets boring fast when you are high level
This. I heard people say that and didnt believe them when I was new, because all the areas and EQs were new. But then i got 75/75 a few times and was just bored. i dont bother signing in anymore, the updates are just for fashion and new cooldowns and tons of menus and shit.
I miss PSU

Why indeed.
kys
user, you seem troubled.

What did he mean by this?
A game so bad it will make you miss a slightly less bad one.
POST YOU'RE B-001 WAIFU RIGHT NOW
kys too
I went back and played the first one on a private server
There is literally nothing to do but grind. Why did we put up with this?
>tfw still playing BB
learnmoon.
Easy to get into, very replayable, good atmosphere and music, rare drops were a huge dopamine shot, coop, not bogged down in tons of menus, action based...these games are good for a reason m8
>summary monthly updates
>herro we added outfits (no cast parts though)
>we added new LQ about running around and killing enemies until you meet Gal/some old enemey, if you we aren't total lazy shits we add one corraboration boss there
>summary of quarterly updates
>new EQ boss fight enjoy fucked up schedule cause you are a gaijin
>buffed *weak class* by 1%
>new 13* weapon that isn't even worth obtaining
>rare drops were a huge dopamine shot
You what.
I hate how all the good stuff is locked behind eqs so if you really want to advance in the game, you have to bend your schedule in sync with theirs. Maybe its not a problem for gooks, but its a huge pain in the ass to stay up to 5 am to get a few stones until i have 180 so i can upgrade my weapon and be 2% stronger. Events are super lazy and uncreative too
PSU events handled it best and PSO/U ensured that you can just start the game, play some, and make some progress any time since different missions had different drops (good drops)
Pham you know damn well what i mean
The worst thing about it is logging for a big update and then realizing that everything new is behind EQ so you get your obligatory campaign stuff and go to bed cause it's 1AM in nipland.
I thought EQs only carried the absolute top tier equipment? Orbit is basically endgame if you aren't willing to go for Austere. Not exactly something you'd call simply "good".
I havent played in months but the potential on autsere is way better than orbit. A 12* with a good potential is better than an orbit, or just about equal
best girl of the series coming though
>episode 4
Game's construction is broken. You are supposed to get top tier equipment like a month max after hitting level cap. Grinding 13 stars like Seiga series doesn't take long when you get the right schedule, and there are plenty other choices that are only a bit below Austere. Anything below 12 stars like Lavis Blades is pretty much garbage and even crafting red weapons is often skipped in favor of Nox NT series you can use to grind your next 13* next.
shes so sweet, shes like a little puppy. i loved her retarded antics in psp and innocent girl
Orbit is 5% behind damage in Austere on average or something around that number. Many weapons still have various degrees of Orbit preference since you can force the sheathing mode for big boost in PP regeneration.
orbit is only a few % worse than austere, and for some classes or combinations the pp restore is a huge boon. For example, orbit sword is all around good, orbit knuckles is a good substitute for austere, orbit launcher is a great companion for AIS rifle (which is better than austere on crit), orbit TMGs are top tier, talis is great as a battery or for fi or br subs, orbit wand is great because pp restore on hit basically means zondeel + a whack maxes out your pp in one hit, bow can be pp battery or general use, dbs are the same etc.
are you gonna sit there and tell me that red boxes didn't make your dick sprout horns?
no fuckin way
Played this game for 3 years (2012 - 2015). I wish I could get those 1000+ hours of my life back.
This is a good RP simulator though. Other than that it's pretty bad for people who like end game content.
If you're one of those who wan't;
more gameplay you're shit outta luck.
A challenge? Shit outta luck.
PvP? Shit outta luck.
End game content? SPOILER: End game content can be done at level 1. They're called Emergency Quest happen throughout the day/night at a specific time. So by the time you reach level cap you will have already experience all the EQs offerings. Therefore, shit outta luck.
>Are there any challenges the game offers?!?!?!?
There is one. Time Attack with an EQ to go with it. But sadly, 98% of the community do not like the only piece of content that is skill based because they are all too casual and don't play PSO2 to compete against only players. So the community inside the PSO2 community is niche. Therefore, shit outta luck.
To go further, this community is so casual that they even would argue with you if you told them to spend some of there Meseta(currency) on better gear. But later the game developers gave every class a super broken buff and their logic wasn't invalid anymore. 2slot gear was one shotting shit that required 5 slot gear.
Because it was made to empty your wallet not to be a good game.
Maybe we played different games, but getting elysions, cross scars, red garbage and an occasional photon drop instead of the thing you actually wanted was irritating.
>Time attacks
Nobody bothers with those cause it's no rewards and play differently from rest of the game. Also need to get shittons of various gear and play class combos often not seen in normal game to get top times. TAs are one of the worst contents in the game and they should've made it more like GP with pre built classes and gear.
I WANT
TO FUCK
AND IMPREGNATE
IO-CHAN
Arks buff only exists in pd, user. And you have to be fucking up bad to get level 3. Or be running a later mpa.
Like i said, i havent played in months. I dont care for PSO2 the same way I cared for PSO and PSU. PSO2 seems like it was made to attract autistic weeaboo roleplaying shitters from Sup Forums instead of being a wacky sci fi game with cool things to hunt for. I just remember austere having a way more useful potential, faster pp regen and damage boost, which easily outclasses orbit. the work required to get it isn't worth it, and a 12* with a good pot is more than enough for the average player
I don't know if you're realized it, but you basically saying you're too lazy to get proper gear to run a specific mode and would rather have Sega give everyone hand-me -downs. That's not how free to play works and I would rather earn my shit through playing the game anyways.
Does that buff even do anything to damage? IIRC it only increased your max HP and PP recovery, even at level 3.
And Austere is just more powerful than Orbit. Orbit is better for PP management.
+10% pp regen is in no way better than +200% pp regen, user.
And this is true, but at only 5% behind austere orbit is a great weapon to use. Especially with +60% pp regen on hit.
Whatever you're talking about I most likely quit playing the game before it was implemented.
Yes that what I am saying. If you want to make TA popular then you need to do something about players hitting level cap and realizing their class combo is most likely useless unless they are aiming for specific challenge, but neither weekly nor interrupt cares about what class you are playing and optimal classes will always be on top. Adding to that how boring most TAs are for non autists it's no wonders nobody wants to play them. Nobody is buying into competitions that are only fair when you have the best gear and JP-tier ping.
Challenge mode was fun and pretty much better TA that died because challenge mode 2 had even worse balance than 1 and half the missions on top of Ideal weapons getting shit on by any new 13*.
I'm personally not opposed to gearing up for a specific game mode, but time trials and speedrun style gameplay in general just isn't something that appeals to a lot of people. And if it requires a substantial time investment to be competitive, you need rewards to compensate players for it if you want there to be any form of competition. See World of Warcraft's Challenge Modes for an example; quite a few people played enough of them to get the cosmetic rewards, but the harsh requirements in gear, composition, knowledge, and skill with little in the way of rewards meant that the competitive community pushing top times was incredibly small.
I haven't played PSO2 in something over a year at this point, but I'd personally be happy if there were just more generally challenging PvE content. Especially small group stuff, all of the EQs and Ultimate just felt like zerg fests more than anything. Maybe I just didn't play enough of the game but dying never had much of a penalty in big groups, and it wasn't exactly tough to stay alive the majority of the time to begin with.
I enjoyed the game's combat and it felt like it could support some genuinely challenging content, but I never really experienced that without intentionally making things more difficult for myself. Some of the bosses like the Dragon EX were at least still pretty fun to fight solo.
What if they locked some exclusive hair, LAs, and costumes behind TA wall? Would people play it or would they complain that 1, they can't beat the better players and 2, they have to gear up to even compete?
It's not even particularly good at getting you to spend money. They made it fast and easy to get everything but the new Dark Falz outfits.
PSO2 experiments with harder stuff every now and then in different forms. That ARKS GP quest you could run in challenge blocks, as well as easier time attack GPs we had since 2013; progressively harder MBD quests that ended with not so challenging MBD4; very aggressive Magatsu Sai and Yamato bosses in quests where you are defacto invincible and only race against time; solo XQ; latest TA; upgraded PD. The problem is that nothing ever comes out of it, they seem to just throw the idea out there and then it's followed by two months of new EQs where you run around killing stuff from unrelated locations and have irrelevant 13*s for classes you don't use drop once a week.
Placing first in time attack interrupts used to award you with a unique LA. It probably still does, but I don't remember when I last saw such ranking. Solo XQ also gives you a sticker that suspiciously few seem to use (can't blame them with the entry cost and it not being a 100% drop).
People seemed more happy than anything about the new XQ itself, but it being prohibitively expensive to even attempt is another example of classic Sega.
I'm sure some people would complain, people will complain about anything. But if the rewards start at a reasonable level that wouldn't matter. Things just have to be tiered such that anyone willing to put in a nominal amount of effort can get something, and they're then progressively rewarded as that amount of effort increases. With the way PSO2 works, the top players even get an incentive to keep competing, as the rare and exclusive items would probably be a steady source of meseta for them once they have their own.
Might take a little restructuring of the TAs themselves, though. I could be wrong on this front, but TAs themselves seemed pretty bland.
I honestly never paid much attention to the game's events and stuff like that, so I'm pretty sure I missed any cool stuff they did there. I basically just played the game for a couple weeks every so often and got bored when I ran out of things to do outside of EQs. The uniquely aggressive bosses do sound pretty cool, though I'm not sure about being invincible. Boss fights are really my favorite thing in video games, and I'm probably overly biased against PSO2 thanks to the big bads like the Falz fights always seeming to be relegated to EQs.
