Why are you guys so insistent on saying this game is going to be shut? I'm all for skepticism, but before it's even out you're damming it. Wait until it comes out and the reviews and reactions come in, and if it's shit it's shit, so be it, but don't doom it from the start.

I dunno it seems pretty open to me OP

I don't even own a Playstation and I'm not going to buy it because it's not my kinda thing, it just seems unfair

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All there has been on Sup Forums is hate boner fuel threads for it.

Because we saw the leaks and they prove the games about as disappointing as the titanic. They aren't going to magically fix everything and add a bunch of content with this patch they're talking about.

Games dead, I'm not even going to read the reviews since they'll probably be bought off anyways.

why do you care?
some people (myself included) think all these "survival" games are stupid and don't like it when idiots/casuals gobble shit like this up and praise it like it's the best thing since sliced bread
i had no interest in this game until retards started making threads about it 24/7 talking about it like it's going to be "goty"
this game is cancer, bland procedurally generated cancer

First day on Sup Forums?

I've been memeing against this game hard on Twitch chats and on here. It's not a concerted effort, it's just very easy to rile up the fanboys. I hate this fanatic cult that's arisen surrounding NMS consisting of nerds who will defend the game even if it is pure shit. I am getting this game because I think it sends a good message to game devs to buy this game. We want vast exploration like this however I don't think this will be the game to end all games.

Sup Forums is too toxic for its own good

GOTY Tbh

You should go back

Game is gonna break records and Sup Forums can't cope with it, so as a defense mechanism, they damn the game

>first flight - measly 100 feet

I may get this later on sale but from what I've seen it doesn't look like it's worth 60 dollary doos

Because 90% of Sup Forums are contrarian, it happens with every game. Probably one of the few games I can think of in recent years that didn't happen with was DS2 and Sup Forums got BTFO with that one.

I quit smoking weed about five years ago. I have my stash ready for when this game comes out.

Can't fucking wait to explore alien planets while high.

I thought that was a big cat with a jet pack behind it

>I hate this fanatic cult that's arisen surrounding NMS consisting of nerds who will defend the game even if it is pure shit
Nigga you don't know if it's gonna be pure shit. No one does. Who gives a shit what some dumb kids think?

There are plenty of people who have gotten their copies early (stores breaking release date, preorders arriving in the mail). There's like 40 or so streams and plenty of gameplay up on youtube now, it doesn't take much search or even that long watching to see how shallow the game really is. I don't even see it being a "comfy" game seeing how everything beeps at you every 5mins to fix or recharge it.

OP I was in your camp until the leaked videos came out, here is my 2 cents

>Gameplay literally revolves around minecraft in space and or cutting holes in things to repair your ship
>The lifeforms I've seen look fucking retarded
I'm still hopeful but if the last four years in my life have taught me anything, it's that life is disappointment and sadness and that you're better off dead

We've been there for Spore. We are seeing all the same signs. We are trying to warn you because we've lived this before.

>Nigga you don't know if it's gonna be pure shit. No one does.
>streams the last couple of days
>hours of gameplay up on youtube
>can't tell if it is shit or not

I've seen enough to know it is shit and so can everyone else at this point.

>why isn't the entire world open-minded

Yeah, why isn't the world at peace? We're THIS close.

You've completely misunderstood my point. The people who will "defend the game even if it is pure shit" are retarded, I'm questioning why the other guy even gives a shit about their retarded
opinions.

>I've seen enough to know it is shit and so can everyone else at this point.
>Implying everyone has the same opinions as you
You are just as bad as the people who defend the game to the death. If you don't like it, who gives a shit. Stop imposing your opinion on "everyone else".

underrated post

exactly what ive been saying

THIS GAME IS STILL IN CLOSED DELTA. YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY JUDGE IT TILL YOU'VE ACTUALLY PLAYED THE FULL RELEASE

>Toxic
What a problematic thing to say

>comparing a indie game to a AAAA game
You're an idiot.

If it costs as much as a AAA game, I'm gonna judge it as one.

It doesnt, so you're extra retarded

>comparing a game by 15 people to games like GTA with hundreds
Fuck off newfag

Sandbox shit is always shit

Oh boy, I cant wait to play 3d starbound for 60 bucks
It looks pretty good for a minecraft sequel

>trailer and dev previews
>get hype! Day 1 Preorder!

>gameplay leaks
>IT'S NOT EVEN RELEASED YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE REVIEWS

Can't have it both ways sempi. Either reserve all judgment before release, or let people have their prejudices both good and bad.

Yeah just pretend the past 2-3 months of constant hype threads never happened.

>all people are the same
"No"

If everyone were to think like you then there'd be no discussion over good and bad games and nobody could call them as such because there'll always be some tasteless faggot out there that likes even the worst game. Don't wrap everything in cotton wool and pussyfoot around it, the game is shit.

I think it's fine to say a game looks shit, I mean, that's an opinion based off what's been released, but people have a retarded tendency to just go "This game is shit", despite it not even being fucking out yet, and them having no way of knowing.

I'll pirate it and see first for sure though, not confident enough to spend that amount of cash on it.

$60 bucks. Same as every other AAA

...

> I am getting this game because I think it sends a good message to game devs to buy this game. We want vast exploration

No, fuck that shit. You guys don't understand that aimless exploration is boring as fuck. There is no way you can make vast exploration work as a gameplay mechanic. It always ends up shallow as fuck because the devs can't control it or if they try to control it, it ends up looking the same with repetitive assets.

What you want it procedurally generated "things to do", not places to go. Big, open expanses of land is boring if all you can do is the same five or six things. A thousand different planets isn't going to make a thousand different gameplays. That's why this game, and any game like this, is going to be shit.

So all the random creature generation is just randomly put together different legs, torso, heads, and tails? Well if that's right it is fairly random but it also looks like absolute dogshit

I do what I want.
If I want to drop Sup Forums and memes in general because they supported this shit game, as reddit did, I'll.

The main developer is the next Einstein.

It won't be shit but it won't live up to the hype either. All the leaked streams make it just look "meh".

They all show it to be a causal open world survival game with no depth. A bit like Elite Dangerous - miles wide but an inch deep.

People who will defend the game regardless are just as bad as people who will always say it's shit regardless. You can't have it one way. If you so strongly give a shit about other peoples opinions you really need to re-evaluate your life.

I agree with this. It's not going to be a shit game, nothing so far says that, but it looks like it won't be much more than a good way to waste some time and fill a certain niche.

Anyone know what the mod support's going to be like for it? If that's good this could be a great game.

people criticized Deus Ex for having a piss filter because it highlighted intractables in yellow, but this game has a permanent piss filter over everything. Every screenshot and video I've seen of it is like looking at a CRT that's on its last legs

>Bob Einstein

I've seen ones on more blue planets that don't seem to, so until it's out I'm just assuming that the yellow filter is something only on certain planets, while others might have other stuff going on. A colour filter isn't necessarily a bad thing, most games have it to some degree to set moods in certain areas.

I just broke my preview copy of NMS in half and threw it st the dog, who just looked disgusted

There has never been a point in this game's development cycle where it didn't look like a cheap hype scam.

Now that footage of the 'finished' game is leaking, we know for absolute sure that it is a cheap hype scam.

Why would anyone be so stupid as to get their hopes up over this?

Guy spent a thousand dollars on a leak copy and has been giving out information + early gameplay footage has been circulating.
The game has been exposed and it is not pretty, devs are in full damage control mode over twitter.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Congrats on giving them your money and then wasting it user, I'm sure you really showed them. I can't imagine why you'd be retarded enough to do this sort of stuff anyway instead of donating it to a childrens hospital or something so people can enjoy it.

Every time Sup Forums has overwhelming declared a particular game is shit, it turns out to be at best mediocre, at worst shit.

Then you have a month or two of all the dumb shits who never learn who preordered the game in question farting buyer's remorse all over the place, or using the 'it's a beta test' excuse.

What gets me is the sheer amount of emotional investment people put into these games. It's almost like you can see the lack of meaning in their lives oozing from the posts they make defending a game that's getting meme'd on.

Why do you dumb shits do this to yourselves?

A lot of stores are already selling copies, it's not only one guy.

Quite frankly I just don't care. The game was not up to my standards so I gave it the treatment it deserved.

People would thank me, trust me.

Is there permadeath in the game?

>Every time Sup Forums has overwhelming declared a particular game is shit, it turns out to be at best mediocre, at worst shit.

But that's not true at all, Sup Forums overwhelmingly calls pretty much any AAA release shit, and usually they're pretty okay and at worst mediocre.

The issue with listening to Sup Forums for commentary is they have no idea that a game can be just okay, or a bit above average. It's always perfect best game ever with no flaws, or irredeemable shit with nothing good about it. In reality, most games sit somewhere in the middle of that, where you can play it through once, kind of enjoy it, but not have much stick out. This feels like one of those games to me, where it's not going to be super fucking terrible, but it'll just be something I don't remember much of or will be a bit boring at worst.

Well, congrats on being both autistic and selfish then user. At the very least you could have sold it to someone else for half price and got your money back.

Though I get you're just making up stories to sound cool, I'm just talking about people in general who break games they don't like.

I've watched a lot of streams and I have never, ever seen someone dies. I think it's basically impossible.

No. Survival isn't the objective.

problem is majority of the people who don't even play video games will proceed to say this game is shit even if it gets released and becomes GOTY.
Like witcher 3, majority of Sup Forums seems to think for some reason that witcher 3 is worse than skyrim

>trusting gameplay leaks
WOW HL2 sure is a shit and buggy and ugly game. Good thing I didn't buy it but watched leak videos

Every planet I've seen in every stream and video has been piss yellow. The screenshot of the center of the galaxy was piss yellow. The only mood it sets is "old busted shit" mood.

I swear I've seen ones with purple ground that aren't that colour, and had a darker filter, it's just that most leaked footage is on a yellow planet I think. I could be wrong.

Either way though, it's not a huge deal, it's easy for them to patch out, and if there's any mod support at all it's easy to fix.

I'm pretty informed about the game, watched all the ign videos where they played it, and seen a lot of clips from the gameplay. I already know it's not going to be the best game ever, but the space battles look great and I think if I have a chance to be an outlaw in space and fuck shit up non-stop and recruit npcs, I think that's enough for me. It looks gorgeous on PC as well.

there is no screenshot of the center of the universe

the only person who has reached it yet hasn't spoiled it

The "death stranding" screenshot is from nowhere near the center of the galaxy.

then what the hell was that?

regardless, it's some important event that's not even on a planet and it's still piss yellow.

Have you considered it's just a yellow area? And "piss yellow" is a pretty meaningless term user, there's no need to be so hostile about this, you can just say yellow.

As I said though, a potential colour filter is pretty minor, Dude Sex:HR was a pretty good game even with it, and it honestly gave it a distinctive look.

But the original concept of the game was even better than the retail one. Not saying retail is bad though.

you are now aware that sonycucks pay 70+$ for new games in addition to paying their online
they consider this normal

Why is a shill thread not being met with sages and denouncing?

>why would you watch early leaked copies yourself to determine if it's shit?
>we should at least wait until it comes out so we can second hand be told by others reviews if it's shit

How exactly did you come to the conclusion this was a shill thread?

Fucking hell it's frustrating how people get called shills for wanting to say more about a game than "It's shit and nothing is good about it", easily the worst thing that's happened to this board since GG. Should absolutely be a filtered word.

> shill

I don't you know what that word means. Nothing in this thread is shilling, it's more the opposite in fact.

>if I have a chance to be an outlaw in space and fuck shit up non-stop and recruit npcs
You don't.

If you think you will like a game that he thinks he won't like then you are a paid shill sent by Hillary Clinton or a "nu male"

This is the intellectual level of your average poster from Sup Forums where that asshole obviously posts

What was the point of this thread?

You do though, you have factions and depending on your actions they will attack you or not, you can literally attack trade routes and just live by stealing from species. I have fucking seen it, and you can also recruit npcs. Watch some streams man, seriously.

Have you seen the gameplay?
I doubt anyone can do this sober while having fun for more than a few hours and that's not really a good premise for a video game.

My main problem is the price. They overpromised a lot of shit and now they think they have fooled enough people to get away with it. A lot of people still don't know that the game has no multiplayer at all, other than leaving marks on the world/naming.

People spend stupid amounts of time on each planet AND on foot, too. I can see myself having fun exploring just by hovering around in my ship and only landing if I find something. The streams are boring AF.

To point out that saying a game that isn't even out yet is guaranteed to be complete shit is retarded, and to try to talk about it in a more reasonable way than "Completely trash, has nothing good about it and you should never buy it or even pirate it because you're supporting numale devs".

It's always insane how paranoid people that call shill tend to be, as if the only way you can disagree with them is because you're paid to do so, or are the dev or creator of the product.

Seriously though, is there any news about mod support in this game? It seems like the perfect platform for some really great mods if there is much.

The drawing distance distance made almost impossible to look details on the surface of the planet from your spaceship. At least on the PS4.

This game seems too good to be true. If it actually delivers on it's promises I'll consider buying it. From what I have seen so far it seems pretty generic.

I read in previous threads there's no mod support. I don't know if that's true or not.

It looks like fucking trash on PS4

People don't know what they are doing in the game, also it's not a spectator game, the exploration is exciting for the player not for people watching on twitch. Think about it in those terms.

>They overpromised a lot of shit and now they think they have fooled enough people to get away with it

Like what exactly?

The problem seems to be that they never really told people what you can do in the game and let people just imagine whatever they wanted.

>Seriously though, is there any news about mod support in this game?

There are very little hard facts known about the game - but if there are a few people feeling like modding the game up, they're going to do it regardless of the official modding support

Making a game fully mod-able and providing a proper API is probably not on the to-do list, seeing as the game was brought to PC only later..

Well fuck, I hope that it's just sourceless shit like a lot of what people have posted about it is.

>also it's not a spectator game, the exploration is exciting for the player not for people watching on twitch.

I think this is important too, a lot of games don't translate well to streams but are still really fun to play. I wouldn't want to watch a guy playing some old classic RPG, yet they're still great games. Only games that tend to stream well are heavily action based ones or competitive games I've noticed.

eh, it worked for Minecraft

How to train your dragon 7?

People already got copies of the game early, they played it and their general consensus is that it's shit.

Feels good to be right.

I'm not comparing them lol, are you completely retarded? They literally lied about what they claimed would be in the game, and it's blatantly laid out for everyone to see. You're one of those shit brained monglonoids that worshipped this game and sustained yourself from the hype, and now that it's all been blown the fuck out you're damage controlling "b-b-but it's not an AAAAAAAAAAA game so it's okay if there's nothing in it!"

Fucking moron.

>a pony fucker says anectdotal evidence with no proof to back it up, even though everyone who has played it has said that it's really enjoyable.

Seriously fuck off you MLP faggot.

The gameplay in Minecraft is more substantial than the gameplay in NMS.

The problem with NMS is that the gameplay is very barebones.

This is why I've always wondered why no AAA studio has jumped on the idea of a space single player RPG exploration game where they continually release DLC packs of new hand crafted planets on a regular schedule. You could release new stuff basically infinitely, and nerds would eat it up.

>New thread every hour asking why people think the game is shit
>Not the work of shills
