Why don't they use an image of the actual game? Why do they try to represent it as what it should've been instead of what it is if it was so successful?

It'd probably be done just with some API from one of the map sites and an algorithm on the phone to generate the locations for whatever it is the game is about. Would cut down on the amount of traffic going through the company's server by a ton, but would probably just offload that onto the player's data plan.

I'm level 17. I only play it at nights when I'd walk downtown with my bros and hit like 15 pokestops, but even that's boring now. We'll get lucky if we actually encounter a new pokemon and God fucking forbid you get any insight as to where it's at if it shows up in your nearby list.

The game is too broken for me. Until they fix a lot of issues, it's simply unplayable. Hell, their updates actually made the game more unplayable.

I'm not some faggot that hates on everything on this board. I gave this game a chance but niantic is a shit company and so is their product.

This is the biggest problem with the game, the fact that the Pokemon are so regional and area exclusive. So unless you travel the country or constantly drive way outside the normal areas you live in you have virtually no chance of catching anywhere near a good amount of the available Pokemon.

Tracking was broken as fuck. I would bet it's a short term fix until they get it working again.

They should tie more shit in with walking. Maybe select a pokemon to follow you around, to slowly earn it CP / Candy. Even if it was just 1 candy per KM, you'd have to walk a shitload to evolve anything. Maybe do something similar with tracking - where you select a nearby pokemon and walking in general gets you closer to it until you get it. Like hatching an egg only it's still somewhat random based on what is nearby you and you still have to actually catch it.

Are Pokemon spawn rates tied to player activity? Because on launch week I couldn't go 1 minute without being swarmed by Pokemon, yet now 10 minutes of walking is lucky to spawn just one. This might kill the game for me if it is though, since your average Go-fag wont brave the cold.

No, all spawn rates and what shows up where are decided by Niantic's server side algorithm. If spawns really did become less frequent it's just because they decided so.

There's like four pokestops in my campus, and its not even huge. I work in a building that, if it was hollow, could be lowered onto my campus and not touch a single building inside.

The only Pokestops are like a 25 minute walk away. It's 5 on one street but the distance between each of them is like 3 minutes apart. It could be worse.
