In terraria, once you're done with one world-you create another. In starbound you just fly to another planet. Pretty much same shit, yet starbound planets are somehow bad

You can! I got it refunded with 12 hours because chucklefuck haven't brought any update for about 7 months back when it was still beta/alpha.

I've clocked over 850 hours in terraria, and I was starting a fresh character every patch. I've lost count of how many times I've beaten it.
I'm having a blast with starbound.

The growth isn't that bad. Just go post hardmode and it will slow down significantly again.

You could also just isolate or cleanse the corruption and make it a controlled biome.
