Looks to me like everyone realized this game was shit and they scrambled to make it reasonable

I am going to pass on NMS until they have more complex civilizations at different technological levels.

Medieval-age feudal society, nuclear-age multinational society, Primitive tribes, etc, all with unique factions that trade or war with each other. Also cities. There needs to be procedural generated cities and towns.

Without this, it is just another boring exploration sandbox.
