Enderal

Oblivion 1

>Feel like playing Oblivion again
>Install it, download a ton of mods
>Spend a couple hours setting everything up
>Start game
>Fucked something up somewhere in Wrye bash, crashes on launch
>Lose all motivation to play oblivion
>Uninstall

Every time

Comfy is just a buzzword when you can't actually think of any reasons as to why the game is good, don't use it.

*clunky

>This nigga has never played the original Animal Crossing, or any Harvest Moon or any other comfy game for that matter

Ha

I wish someone would just fucking make a modpack that has the stuff that adds new areas, texture packs, combat tweaks (but not the ones that add like fucking backflips and other stupid shit), atmospheric stuff like that.

the super mega mod pack is a piece of outdated shit

comfy post

Witcher 3
Fallout 4
Demon's Souls in boletaria

>Fallout 4
is it really? I haven't played it, but Fallout 3 was pretty bleak.

Skyrim is genuinely one of the least comfy games I've ever played. Like, I legit feel physical discomfort when I play it.

mods

Well, its pretty bleak, but nothing beats that comfy feel of rain dripping down your power armor visor, or traversing the ocean bed in power armor, or even laughing at super mutants and their puny .38 as it bounces off your power armor.

I don't know why but that power armor is just too damn comfy. Probably because it feels like a walking tank that protects you from such a hostile environment

Oh and also climbing one of the skyscrapers or a high point on the highway and checking out the wasteland is pretty comfy, especially at higher uGrids value

that's strange.

it's a shitty game but it's very relaxing and cathartic

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
every day

I know what you mean

i wouldnt call morrowind comfy

Hello LA, you're up way past your bedtime

nep

I dunno, maybe it's just me.
The mechanics themselves feel rough and grating. Walking around, looking around, fighting around, spellcasting around, bartering and discussing around, all felt "wrong".
Hearing the NPC's talk kind of annoys me because of the way their lines are written and read. Those two guys at the bottom of the staircase up to High Hrothgar before the one guy gives you the supplies to deliver, something about their dialogue made me say to myself, "wow, that was awful". I don't know what it was.
The music isn't as comfy and memorable as Oblivion's was. I honestly can't remember any of the soundtrack outside of the high-energy pieces that were much too loud and "macho-epic" to be comfy.
The environments, all of them, every city, every part of the map, all felt lifeless and washed out and too apparently synthetic.
I tried really hard to get immersed in the game and I just couldn't do it. I'm sure mods would help a ton, but I don't care enough for the game to even bother.

Damn

>The environments, all of them, every city, every part of the map, all felt lifeless and washed out and too apparently synthetic.
I agree with the rest of your post but I think wandering the wilderness with an imported oblivion/morrowind/skyrim soundtrack mixed (and soem other soundtrack mods) with weather mods are incredibly immersive and relaxing

I wouldn't call you a non-faggot

one of the games i've enjoyed the most

>Witcher 3
I find this to be less so, since you're playing the role of Geralt.

>you will never feel the sense of wonder and immersion you had when you first played Skyrim ever again in any game ever.

>gw

Witcher 3 annihilated it

Demons Souls is very comfy

Don't listen to them. Even with mods the game just can't be saved. You're definitely on to something with the writing. Even Oblivion, with only six voice actors, had better writing than Skyrim. Maybe someone else can explain what's wrong.

That keeps it from being comfy how? I honestly thought it added to the comfiness. Made you feel like you had a place in the world, and those light-hearted moments like the drunk part of Witcher 1 and the play in 3 were all the more comfy because of it.

Okami

>Maybe someone else can explain what's wrong.
You have autism and don't understand opinions.

i think it's the setting. i don't like frozen settings in games, they are very depressing. the rift is the only part of the map that i like. everywhere else feels so dead and lonely.

Oblivion is the most comfy TES followed by Morrowind. With mods of course.

Skyrim just can't compete.

Yeah I didn't find the rest of the souls games to be as comfy (although I haven't played BB yet due to no ps4) but, DeS around boletaria was top tier comfy.

Shrine of storms and even tower of latria before you descend into the swampy parts were also pretty comfy

It's part of it. Enderal fixes bland looking locations, voice acting, quests, and story, but it's still a weird game where some things just feel wrong and clumsy. I think in large part it's due to UI, which even SkyUI can't fix.

GW with all its expansions is my favorite game ever. Best 5 years of gaming I've ever had.

>tfw can't get my hands on the official Cantha map poster to frame and hang on my wall next to the Elona map

how does this mod do exterios or so well?

in fallout 4 its basically a shitty high distance lod and in most parts they didn't even bother keeping the engine limits hidden

The writing is lazy. It's not in-character. It doesn't feel like it's really coming out of that world, you know? It really is hard to explain.

I know the Skyrim-Witcher comparisons are tired and overdone, but I think this is one area where the comparison absolutely makes sense. Witcher's NPCs have a tone and dialect and a way of speaking of things native to their world that sounds believable, and sounds like it's being spoken by an actual being who's existed in this world their whole lives, but you don't get that feeling with Skyrim. I don't know how to explain it. It all sort of sounds like exposition, I guess? There's a foreignness to the way they talk about things which should be the norm to them, and more importantly, should be, or should at least be assumed to be, the norm to YOU, that draws you out of the world completely.

This might be a terrible way of getting into it, because writing like this has a lot of nuance to it, but maybe that's just it -- Skyrim's writing lacks any nuance. It's like... Well, it's kind of like it was all written by a grade schooler, to be honest. There isn't a single line in the entire game that can stand on its own.

>that webm

I swear people who keep saying this is a shitty game just don't like fun. I was fucking addicted to this game for months when i was still in high school. I ran home everyday after class just to play this game. I remember getting lost a few times, and getting rekt by frost trolls and Ancient dragons flying down and eating me. Shit was cash. It really sucked when i had to start from the beginning alot though even with auto saves at important locations. Conjuration and Destruction were my favorite magic uses of the game. and remember that Ogama infinium glitch where you level up your skills infinetly so you could easily forge Deadric armor?

This game was one of my favorite open world experiences and still my favorite to this day.
Nothing can recreate the bliss and adventuristic feeling i felt when i got outta the cave for the first time and took a look at the scenery.

what mod is this

It's a different kind of comfy

Same here user

You may have a mental deficiency or just autism.

underage b&

oh shit what mod?

I think you know the answer to your question.

You were and still appear to be an underage retard with shit taste.

Don't bother, movement feels really floaty and clunky since the engine wasn't designed for this sort of combat at all.

The character models, though

Replace them with anime girls or dudes with beards.

It's not like the clunky Skyrim models are any better.

Final Fantasy XV will be infinitely more comfy with a better story, better world, and better gameplay.

lol

demwaifus.blogspot.com/2015/10/anons-69-step-oblivion-guide.html

Try this. Use other mods if you think one sucks.

Pretty sure I used this but between getting the mods nowadays and installing them all correctly it's incredibly easy to err and then you've just wasted 10 hours of your time.

What outfit?

Oblivion Character Overhaul

Pfft. whatever, it doesn't matter what the Sup Forums hivemind think since its still rated one of the best games ever.
And getting a remastered version the next following year.

Best Dungeon coming through

Morrowind

I am glad Skyrim fixed Oblivion's potato problem.

Go to bed Todd.

Seriously, play more video games

I love Soules work, but it all sounds the same. this could literally be from the Oblivion OST

Other people's opinions don't matter too much if you enjoy the game.

No not really, it sounds similar obviously but significantly different at the same time

Stardew Valley

/thread

Honest hearts.

Read the rest of the blog too for more suggestions.

So, judging by this thread Gamebryo is comfy?

Yes. Too bad Dragon's Dogma doesn't have a snowy area though.

Rune Factory, any part. Also Harvest Moons and any game that copied it's gameplay.

>time limits
No.

How well does a 1060 run modded Skyrim?

Is 6GB VRAM enough?

Will the bottleneck be the 1060's processing power and not VRAM?

>implying those time limits forced you to minmax
git gud
Or better not, this game is made to chill and relax.
Also, there is enough time in the day to do EVERYTHING, especially in Rune Factory.

Morrowind and Oblivion outclasses Skyrim in comfiness

>playing the role of Geralt
And how does that keep it from being comfy?

can you play it in first person or is Geralt always front and center on your screen?

I'm happy for you that your shit taste allows you to have fun with bad games.

Only a cuck like yourself would consider playing as another cuck comfy.

DONT REMIND ME

>kiddy's first rpg

No seriously though, I can imagine it being the best game ever for you but it's objectively a worse game when compared to the previous games.

Oblivion (and fallout 3) were similar games for me, but I recognise that fallout 1 and 2's story would have been alot better.

Recent mod released by the devs of the game. Not sure how good it is, but it is by a dev or something.

>that webm
Looks clunky as fuck.

is twitch gameplay really something you'd want in Skyrim?

I liked the loneliness.

It's a nice change of pace in college when most of the time I'm pretending to be something I'm not

What?

There is a first person mod. It's very new though and causes motion sickness for some.

>skyrim
>an rpg

Geralt exists in that world. He has a defined past within the world. I'm a voyeur to his world instead of just an avatar of me in that world.

I'm using a gtx750 and I get 60fps on modded Skyrim.

You seriously found nothing comfy in The Witcher 3 because it has a pre-existing character?
