Let's have a moment of silence for Sean Murray's career

Let's have a moment of silence for Sean Murray's career.

nice shoop

Rather have a moment of silence for your thread, OP

>all this hatred for an indie dev

Where when you when Sup Forums went retarded?

>tfw I will never be so desperate to shitpost that I have to shoop a MetaCritic screen cap for an unreleased game

>vee hates things

holy shit stop the presses

>indie
>implying
This game will only be liked by 9gag and die 3 weeks after release

Unheard of!
Sup Forums loves all indie developers, from Zoey Quinn to Phil Phish.
Why did we SUDDENLY OUT OF NOWHERE start hating on some indie devs?

>indie
>marketed and distributed by Sony

All Indie devs are cancer

>indie

Sony-lite*

Sony is marketing and distributing the game.

Now, why would you go on the internet and tell lies, OP?

That's Sean's job, not yours.

>$60 indie game

the hate is entirely justified

Remember the early 90s when we paid more than 100 for games from 5-man gamedev companies? Oh man, those were the days.

What do you mean?! Gone Home is my favorite video game of all time and changed my whole world view!

found the shill

>Rated T
Why

It's not the early 90s anymore.

>60$
>plan to sell the concept 2b if it runs well
For sure the lead dev is so genius and a true geek.

Indeed! Take into account inflation and notice how fucking cheap video games got. Neat, isn't it?

Hello sean

Sup, Rob.

Alien sex

T for Terrible

71 is considered a bad score?

Anything lower than 100 is a bad score.

Games are based off of IGN's exaggerated scoring system.

Decent games get 8's
Good games get 9's
Great but not perfect games get 10/10

Anything lower is basically worthless

Top post of the thread.

>indie dev
>59.99

yea no

Games are not cheap anymore. 60 for the first 2/3 and 1/2 Then 30 to 50 for the rest of the game a.k.a season pass.

>then
>pay $100 for a game programmed from scratch using nothing but a toaster and a calculator, which is almost guaranteed to work because it would ruin your company to ship an incomplete game

>now
>pay $60 for Unity-generated templates and stolen math algorisms, where you're paying mostly for the devs' San Fran beach homes and the game is under no obligation to function right thanks to day 1 patches

Maximum damage control on Sup Forums's part.

>wanting a developers career to be over because someone on the internet played an incomplete version of their game and said it was only ok
Children should all be purged from this world, I swear.

>waaaaaah!
>This game that isn't even technically released yet is buggy!
>what? I don't care that there's a big patch for release day! This game that I shouldn't even have access to is broken, and that's all that matters!

>indie
>$60

>being an independent studio means you can't charge more than $20 for your games
SO THIS... IS Sup Forums...

Vidya scores are horribly inflated, usually a 7 or 8 means the game is average and anything below is godawful

It is going to sell over a million copies regardless of quality. He will be fine.

You can only blame people who buy into unfounded hype, which will always lead to disappointment.
It was always going to be 3D Starbound so everyone should have expected as much.

It' a meme you dimbo

I know that 71.

Yup, it's fake.

Thomas?

WELL EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUSE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, PRINCESS

>Where when you when

Sup Forums really does know literally nothing about game development and distribution, holy shit. it's a team of 12 people or something, and sony is just the publisher. publishers are always the ones that take care of marketing and distribution, that's the whole fucking point. they're not an in-house studio.

I get irritated when Sup Forums over reacts to an over hyped game doing mediocre, but I can not wait for this shit fest.

I think the games going to have around a 70-78 on metascore in the end. Its just going to be neat for a bit and boring in the end, but there are people in threads thinking they are going to influence galactic nations and have spiritual 1 in a 1,000,000 pseudo multiplayer experiences, when in reality they're going to be playing starbound in 3D with space battles instead of building.

Nintendo, please, release some games so the shitposters have something to play other than "Mario's Sup Forums Shitposting Adventure"

"Indie" has been perverted over the years. Now it applies to anyone that isn't directly owned by Microsoft, Sony, or Nintendo.

When you have office space, a large budget, a decent sized team, and a physical release, you're not indie.

>when we paid
>not at least renting games to see if they were worthy your money

kek, found out the kid pretending to be older than he is

The trolls are still in denial. They read the new patch notes and want to admit it's now far more appealing... but their inflated neckbearded ego stands in their way.

NMS is gonna be good and you guys need to just accept it.

>and sony is just the publisher.
Are they actually the publisher or the distributor? I mean, the PC version is clearly not going to be published by SIE. It's probably a distribution deal like Warner Bros with Witcher 3 for the PS4 physical version.

If anyone ever actually generates human emotions from something they saw on any board on Sup Forums, I feel bad for them.

Oh wait no I don't because I don't feel anything while I'm on Sup Forums.

wow, I didn't know one can be this retarded
enlighten me, from what if not big corporations you need to be independent in order to achieve a true "indie" status?
Or does your definition of being independent boils down to some poorfags making 8-bit 'retro' shit games in their moms basement?

I'm not even buying this shit because $60 will pay for my Civ VI, I'm just curious

>I don't feel anything while I'm on Sup Forums.

didn't you watch the stream? Its dull walking through empty uninteresting terrain. The game is dead on arrival. Maybe it wouldn't be if the pricetag was $40 tops, but right now I think it's an even bigger blunder than Superhot.

>70
>bad

For a niche indie exploring game, 70s average would be solid.

Videogames is the one medium where indie can fuck right off. There are a handful that are actually good and the rest are shit.

>Superhot
>Blunder

Oh--you're a poorfag that gets anal tweaked at short, well paced games. It has an infinite game mode, you know.

That's the same for all mediums. The "indie" music/films that get enough hype and distribution for you to notice are the top 0.5% of their peers.

>implying

More like in the past 2 decades or so games on average have consistently gotten better and scores haven't caught up.

You look at movies and books and those mediums have been mostly stagnate for the past few decades. But the average quality of games and the stuff they do has drastically changed due to vidya being a relatively new medium.

Give it another 20 or 30 years and vidya tech will have stabilized and we'll have a concere rating format.

I hate the peoples who thought this would be a masterpiece because of some some trailer wow E3 moment or something, without even knowing what the game is about.

Not the dev. He NEVER said it's going to be the best game of the galaxy or anything.

to be fair that applies to anything

do you buy anything from amazon that is 2.5 stars? No, you look for 4+

...

...

...

60$

I love phil too, he has such witty and enlightening things to say

BRAVO NOLAN

>Most of the stuff on the list is better than things that get 8-9s today

What happened?

...

You have godawful taste then if you think anything in that list is worth playing let alone most things from 6th gen, one of the worst gens in games.

OMG BEST ACTION MOVIE EVER XD

DID YOU SEE THOSE EXPLOSIONZ BRO??? XD

DID YOU SEE HOW MAX GOT KEKD THE ENTIRE MOVIE?? XD

GO WOMEN!!

how do you know this patch will fix all he bugs? have you played it yet? do you believe devs after all this shit they have done?

>Most of the stuff on the list is better than things that get 8-9s today
not really.

There is one good game on that list though.

I hope this is a doubly ironic shitpost

The fact that those games exist doesn't prove that PS2 had a lot of fantastic games.

Learn to apply factual and valid logic.

The video game's not bad.

>t. Quentin Tarantino fanboi

then why are they suggested in this list to pad out the ps2's library of """exclusives"""

dmc3 and mgs2 and gta weren't even exclusive to ps2. So where are it's best games? It had no fucking games. I get tired of underagers or early 20 yearolds inflating the ps2 like it was a godsend. It didn't have shit that was exclusive and most of its games along with ps1 were available on pc at the time like ff7 and tomb raider

No, I don't watch Tarantino. I don't watch bullshit. and Sup Forums has already been over this. Mad Max Fury Road was shit for adhd kids that like fast editing and explosions to fulfilll their action movies.

Movie has an 8.6 on rotten tomatoes. Apparently """"""movie critics"""""" thought it was better than this

When Sup Forums collectively realized indie games are categorically inferior to the games they take their inspiration from

>$60 indie game

I'm of the mind that if you recieve any finacial aid from a multi million dollar entity your shit isn't indie. It's corp as fuk

Go ahead and tell me why each of those games in that list are bad without spouting memes. Because to me they are all fantastic. Particularyly Art of Balance, Klaus, and Velocity 2x. What I love about new independently made games today is that they're putting gameplay front and center and putting many twists on arcade-y action from past 80's greats. We're getting back to the fundamentals where action is consistent, refined, elegant, and twitchy. You should check out Resogun. A PHENOMENAL defender clone.

>indie devs

meant for

You talk about underage people loving the ps2, and then don't know why games ported to pc years later or a buggy mess of a port half a year later are remembered as ps2 games?

Get a load of this guy.

I thought hello games wasn't Indie because of sony involvement?

Hmm. Why don't you explain this.

Fury Road was a fucking masterpiece and you can get fucked. Max wasn't even slightly kek'd I have no idea what you're on about.

Even if NMS turns out to be a good single player survival exploration game the genre is still shit.

>fast editing and explosions to fulfill their action movies.

So you want your action movie filled with flowers and drama style long shots?

kid stop being asshurt about the feminism angle of that movie, you got memed on

its not there

Well I know for a fact three of those came out of ps2 first before being ported over. Also the original xbox was nowhere near as popular as the ps2.

>Fury Road was a fucking masterpiece
And how old are you? Do you know anything about the fundamentals of cinematic editing technique and framing?

Fury Road was akin to an extended music video not a film, and it's characterization was abysmal for a 2 hour film. It's an abomination. I suggest you watch Hellfighters, a vastly underrated 60's John Wayne film to understand the principles.

Just looked up the 2 I did not remember off the top of my head, also later ports.

Popularity is not indicative of quality.

You're on Sup Forums, a board for video game enthusiasts. Go back to redddit, if you like Sony and Nintendo and Call of Duty.
