Would X-3 be a good thing or a good thing?

Would X-3 be a good thing or a good thing?

If they take it back to the serious JRPG setup of 10 and drop the charlie's angels minigame-o-rama of X-2 then yeah it would be a good idea. As they said themselves the world of Spira still has a lot of stories left to tell and even X-2 brought up a lot of important ideas and elements that could carry you into a third game.

It would be a nice filler game between 15 and 7R.

Only if it was composed of fun minigames like X-2.

Two kinds of people.

Jecht, Braska, Auron
The answer is yes

well, make eien daisho not exist, keep sin coming back, keep tidus coming back (sin is using him as an anchor for him to be beckoned) still have cute girls doing hot things.

or, just make a spin-off game with you as a sphere hunter in post X-2 Spira

The minigames were good but you need an actual game this time around, not a game whose only content is 95% minigames.

No, don't wanna play with 3 old guys.

what would be the threat this time?
is X-2.5 canon?

In their younger years, duh

Prequels are shit.

Then it's just fujoshi bait like FF15.

sht up u quer

FFX was the worst thing to ever happen to the franchise because it showed Squareshit that they can put out any pile of crap and idiots will buy it as long as it was called final fantasy.

Kill yourself.

>great game with unique world and amazing storytelling bringing the game back to its roots
>Pile of crap called final fantasy
One is ff7 and the other is ffX I bet you can guess which is which

>Great game
Vii

>pile of crap
x

Easy peasy

Said the normalfags.

Every mainline Final Fantasy game is good

FF7 is insanely linear and doesn't let you deviate from the once path it sets for you filling everything else with garbage.

FFX encourage going through the multiple paths it lays out for you rewarding exploration with unique bosses and cool items.

FF7 has boring one dimensional characters that never change. The closest thing is cloud realizing his past.

FFX characters feel real emotions and hardships throughout the game. Exploring ideas of stereotyping, racism and inter culture struggles.

Would it have hotpants?

ummmmm you are factually wrong

two is not good just meh

everything you said is a half lie

>FFX
>not insanely linear
FFX is a hallway simulator

I've never seen a more wrong post in my life

American gamers: "If it's open-world, it's shit."

Explain to me how it is more linear than other ff games.
At least it is sincere about it and fills the game with lots of stuff to do and things to get with each path.
Much better than fucking around the world map for 20 hours and realizing you could only go one way the entire time anyways and that 95% of the world map is wasted potential

*not open-world

>sincere
you can lube my asshole, but the game is linear like the other games and thats fine by me

After the abominations of that novella and audio drama, FUCK NO.

If we retcon them, then maybe.

why is there harmony orb on her

How is it not sincere about it? Everypath is something intresting
Rather than empty overworld with nothing in it.

>Tidus gets his head blown off
>Comes back again and gets cucked
Yeah no

I did not say that. I was just correcting him in saying that its extremely linear.
There isn't a world map where you can explore and find extra bonus locations and stuff for most of the game. And even then, the game cuts out the world map part and just has a ship take you instantly to those bonus locations.

And again, I didn't say it was bad. I just thought it was extremely silly to criticize VII for being linear when X is far worse about being linear.

>Going for 100% in X-2
Never again
Fucked up one of the camera bits and I got so mad.

it is sincere, i never said otherwise but they are just buttering my bum up. its like a minor thing for me

she didn't summon you
go away

Comparing or arguing with 7 fags is like trying to compare something to morrowind.

I liked ffx better than ff7

depends what you take from the novel
Tidus gets his head blown off and Yuna fucks his corpse
and they take a dig at X-2 calling it all a dream

Topical post user!

it's literally impossible without following a guide
the amount of fucking saves you need to make during chapter 4 cam hell to make sure you get max % is fucking horrifying

Oh sorry I took your word the wrong way.
Misunderstanding
How is it worse than other games at being linear?
There are other locations you can find in X and lots of them if you explore through the "hallways"
I find it stupid that people call out X for being "hallway simulator" when al the other game are go this path or else you find nothing simulator

What the fuck

prequel to X

well X makes it to obvious, you are right that 7 disguises it but its definitely linear while X embraces it, 13 is literally a hallways simulator though

I swear that fans of the other games always compare with ff7. Come on guys stop being insecure its better to compare with ffx with the game that came before it.

Going by that logic FF8 never had a chance

Blitzball Landmine

Nojima went full retard

The thing is most people will automatically compare it to ff7 so it is just better to beat them to the punch.
Also no one in their right mind would say FFIX was non linear.

Didn't Yuna catch his head too?

Does Yuna even classify as a character? She's so fucking dull.

Nevermind I don't want to know anymore

I'm not a 7 fag, but I am an x hater. X is trash.

Only if the main cast isn't involved directly.

more like "doll"
my doll
u planet homo

I still don't know how to feel about the fact that Tidus is the dream version of the biggest waifufag

So you are a 9 faggot even worse than a fucking 7 or 4 kid.

I'd be down for a jecht prequel

>FF7 is insanely linear
>Yeah well so is FF10
>s-so what

Backpedal harder faggot.

>bringing the game back to its roots

It's funny because FF7 had more in common with the SNES games than the games after it.

Well it's not like you can compare it to FF8 since nobody outside an extremely vocal minority thinks it's a good game.

The original comment was that X ruined final fantasy.
The general consesus is that ff7 is the pinnacle
The main reseaon people hate on X is because VA and linearity
Point out that ff7 is also linear if not more never claiming X wasn't just saying it was honest about it and tried to make the best of it.
Explain how ff7 is more alike the old games rather than X.

>Explain how ff7 is more alike the old games rather than X.

It had a world map you could explore for one thing.

I'd rather they stopped shitting on the story already.

The most pretentious FF after 13. Prove me wrong.

FF in general is pretentious. The only exception is the NES games and IX, which could have been good if it wasn't brought down by its shitty battle system.

>TIDUS LITERALLY GET HIS HEAD BLOWN OFF

HAHAHAHHA YOU CANT MAKE THIS SHIT UP

too bad tidus got decapitated by a bomb going off in his face because they decided to randomly kill him off in the dumbest manner in some bullshit audio drama or w/e

X-3 never ever

He's alive tho.

Play X-2.

what im talking about takes place after X-2, then yuna revives him AGAIN and breaks up with him realizing its not the same tidus that was killed by the bomb

I wasn't the one who said 7 was linear.

8 was legitimately bad though. It was easy as shit to break and arguably the worst leveling system in the series until the license board happened. And don't even get me started on the story and characters.

You mean FFVIII right? At least VIII had a non-broken magic system.

*X had a non-broken magic system

Based on the audio drama from the the Remastered version, fuck no it wouldn't

No. The story is beyond fucked at this point. I could accept it, if they made that drama-cd or whatever it was noncannon.

>any FF
>amazing storytelling

>FFX is bad because it was linear!
Every FF is linear as shit for story part. You are even locked out of airship for most part and you need some other vechicles first to get through some terrains. I think in 2 you could pretty much go to some midgame dungeon after first 15min but it didn't mean much, as you couldnt progress story in different manner. You could though get geared really good early if you decided to farm those captains.
But X didn't even pretend to not be linear. It lacked more big locations like calm plains. Most locations were pieced together hallways. Pretty lazily to boot, so you never travel through actually Bevelle. Then part were sin just teleports you to desert for story purposes.
In defense, I can only say npcs admit so. They say, there are only 2 big cities like Luca and Bevelle is because they attract sin and people are scared. Bevelle was propably safe because of that guardian player killed. And someone mentions Calm plains is only such big place in Spira. Why? Isn't explained, maybe because Sin wrecked everything.
Unfortunally they still could've tried more and added something like Ronso village or give player few routes through mountains/plains. But then people would complain there are many notoptimal routes or that locations are big and empty.
About lack of npcs it was lazy design as well, but I believe it added a little to atmosphere of it being pilgrimage, especially when getting closse to Zanarkand and no truly living soul/being was present.
I really wish we got remake instead of remaster. They could've done so much. At the very least they could've polished some cutscenes were characters are hugging air instead of another char. Removing that shitty shaking and bloom. Officialy adding dual audio.

To attack other game from sereis, I will jump on 7. Adding all those long cinematics and overexposure. Still, I enjoyed them both.

Unfortunally both of those games started trends that later gave birth to FF13, aka cinematic hallway explorer.

No.
They fucked the X universe harder then a black guy fucking a blue haired college dyke. And that's pretty damned hard.

Rigged blitz balls are a thing
She fucked Tidus's dead body to make him into a summon.

>Adding all those long cinematics and overexposure.

Which 10 did far more of and didn't even have the good grace to give you a skip cutscene option, making replayability a serious chore. I'm not saying 7 is perfect, far from it, but its silly to criticize it for having long overexposed cinematics when there are far worse offenders even in the same series.

Haha, brofist bro, I love Spoony as well!

I have never seen Spoony and never will.

I agree with this. They all have flaws, but they are all still good, fun games in the end.

you played it wrong, idiot

it's actually good, I just played and beat it for the first time a few days ago on GBA

FFX is the only FF Ive played, and I really liked it. Should I buy FFXV?

Then you should know that VIII is objectively the best Final Fantasy game.

Too bad you are an underage kid who had to grow up with X.

(You)

Then who could it possibly be?

Doesn't she accidentally revive Sin along with him, or something like that?

I just popped in, but one thing being worse doesn't inherently make the other better.

Also, Final Fantasy 7 is millennial caliber wank material, and the first raod sign marking our long journey in the wrong direction for JRPGs and Anime. Going mainstream was the worst thing to happen to the genre.

Except I've actually played VIII and it deserves all the hate it gets and then some. The battle system alone made it worse X. Not to mention the emo fuccboi MC who constantly acts like he wants to kill himself despite being surrounded by people who love him.

No, given the fact that X-2 was fluffy dog shit, that went nowhere and told a story nobody cared about when there was no story left to tell.
It's everything wrong that happened to Jrpgs and anime, group of air-headed girls doing mundane, inane shit while looking cute.
Fucking killed Final Fantasy for me that such trash could be put out by Square.

Yes, no skip cinematic button was fucking retarded.
And 10 did it far more indeed, but 7 introduced it. As X introduced hallways with no illusion of having freedom.

well if they can keep the x-2 battle system and wipe everything else yea maybe

I bet if Dragon Quest became mainstream instead JRPGs wouldn't be trying to turn themselves into movies.

7 only introduced FMVs. Long-winded cutscenes were present as far back as FF4.

Final Fantasy 2 exists

3 is also questionable

I'm kind of torn on this. The Dresspheres are the best mechanic this series has had since FFV, but everything surrounding that in X-2 is the some of the shittiest this series has ever produced.

You just know if they DID make an X-3 they'd push that bullshit "IT'S DA SAME WORLD AS FF7" shit though.

...

>hating on FF2
Explain to me. Was it because of original release? I complated PSP version not too long ago and found it pretty good. Making demigods always makes me hard.

Cutscenes yes, but what about long attack animations like sephiroth's destorying of solar system? Summons? Can you really compare it to even something like meteor from FF4?
Camera changes to show off that critical/last hit of battle you just scored?
FF7 was the first one to be so 'cinematic'. Maybe they wanted this from begining, but waited for 3D, who knows.

>But then people would complain there are many notoptimal routes or that locations are big and empty.

Only millenials who never played a single JRPG before 2001.
