Is there a series as flawless as Mother?

Is there a series as flawless as Mother?

Dragon Quest.

Mother 1 was pretty damn flawed.
That encounter rate and all the trips to Magicant.

2 is pretty lame.

Shit that was a fast thread.
you take that back

Mt hori.

Shit I meant Itoi.

Whatever.

II > III > I

I never thought of it that way, the coffin icons never registered in my mind as the characters literally dragging around their dead.

damn.

Shit taste

oh wow a 3 game series thats real impressive

a franchise with 10+ entries that are consistently good, thats a fucking feat

Duncan's Factory.

Undertale obviously.

3 rly good games is p good imo.

plus i feel like "consistently good" is easy when you have a formula / audience.

Kirby.

Garbage archaic UI, the bane of all games.

I've started mother 1/ebz a few times but I never get past one or two tones/notes/melodies/whatever they're called. Is it worth going back and playing it? I was thinking of trying the GBA version with the ezmodo ring, might make it less tedious I hear.

All three games are flawed as fuck though.
I'd go as far as to say Mother 1 is pretty mediocre, bordering on bad.

Kirby

>the gameboy games
>the games released in the last 5 years

They're all flawed games, but Earthbound and Mother 3 are top notch
I wouldn't say the same for Mother though

whats wrong with the gameboy games?
And aren't both Triple Deluxe and Robobot pretty good?
I'll admit Ebin Yard was boring as all hell.

They're okay, but they're not flawless in any means. And the gameboy games are the definition of proof of concept. They tried a whole bunch of shit and they are just super generic platformers. Great for the time, maybe, but looking back, they most definitely do not hold up.

he asked for a series that was consistently good for at least 10 titles.
Kirby fits that bill imo.

no he asked for a consistently good series of 10+ titles.
If you want to be technical about it, tilt n tumble was a fucking piece of garbage, squeak squad was AIDS, amazing mirror was meh at best, star stacker was a mediocre clone, and then, as you said yourself, epic yarn.

So....anybody want a art dump?

>no he asked for a consistently good series of 10+ titles.
Dream Land 1-3, Super Star, 64, Air Ride, RTD, TD, Robobot and Canvas Curse.
Even leaving out remakes and some of the questionable choices you made in your post, that's 10.

>questionable choices put between those games
>consistent
come on now.

also air ride is a fucking trash game, quit lying to yourself. City run is fun, but the core game is boring, lacking in features, and it's basically just a really really shitty kart racer.

Are you a japanese nerd or what?

>Mother 1's shitty dungeons.
>Mother 3's shitty pacing and story.
I can't think of a really terrible part for Mother 2 though other than that fucking monkey item trading section.

I never got through mother 3, I played right when the english patch first came out, and I got up to, I think I was in some tower and there was a room filled with toys and there was a boss. I remember beating the boss, then the game fucked up and died, and I got pissed and never played it again.

But the pacing wasn't really that bad, other than the first part, with the dad, that served literally no purpose.

>mother 3
>shitty pacing and story
While flawed I disagree with your statement but understand why you feel that way.

It's a fucking Dragon Quest clone you brainwashed fucking Nintendrones, Jesus Christ Mother 3 is great but the rest of the series are average as fuck and your attempts to retro-actively circle-jerk over it is falling on deaf ears.

>dragon quest clone
That's honestly a compliment, DQ is one the only good jrpg series.

>That Leder exposition dump.
Holy fuck, that was so badly handled it hurts.

mother 3 was the only good game in the series
