Given the choice, whether to rule a corrupt and failing empire; or to challenge the fates for another throw - a better throw - against one's destiny... what was a king to do?
Given the choice...

What do vampires even do all day?
Sleep
So are those talons on their hands, or just big meaty claws?
Considering they can use them for scaling rock faces, I'm gonna say talons.
But does one truly ever HAVE a choice?
All the good vampire franchises are dead
Question with an obvious answer, should I start as Soul Reaver or can I jump directly into Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance?
Start with Blood Omen if you can handle the dated visuals, it's worth it.
Otherwise, yes Soul Reaver is absolutely vital, if you start at 2 you won't have a fucking clue what is going on.
You can probably jump into SR2
Play some soul reaver 1. Watch at least the opening cut scene and maybe kill a boss or two. Then play defiance.
Soul Reaver, everytime. EVERYTIME.
Elder God mode: start with Blood Omen, then Blood Omen 2.
Kainfags, I'm on PC.
Where's my best start to finish?
GoG has Blood Omen 1, so you shouldn't have any trouble running it if you find that version.
I started with blood omen but english isn't my first language and understanding what they are saying exactly is hard as shit since they didn't bother to put on some subtitles. I ended up dropping it after the first boss I think because nothing made sense for me. I will never forget SAVE ME KIND SIIIIIIR though
Raziel may have the hardest life of any character in any video game.
...
CAHST HIM IN
The best fucking voice acting in video game history. Why the fuck can't western studios hire real fucking stage actors to do their VA? Anything that's not triple AAA and doesn't have the same 5 fucking people with experience in voice acting gets voice acted by literal whos.
Even the most forgettable, small time titles and anime in Japan gets real professionals to voice act, and not acting school dropouts who do it for fucking peanuts.
I remember that video where they talked in ebonics.
>Throw them nigga in there!
this post needs more hemoglobin
Liam O Brien is a fucking delight in every game he's in. He's the only current VA I can think of who's great though.
Other than "Video Game VAs" like NN and celebrity guests like Ron Pearlman voice acting in video games is almost universally shit.
Why can't we have good voices llike Dagoth Ur or Kain.
...
You wouldn't understand shit if you don't play SR 1 first
Go play it faget.
Most voice actors ARE stage actors.
Or at least were before career switching.
ARROJADLE
>Tony Jay is dead
>Paul Lukather is dead
>Michael Bell is 78
>Richard Doyle is 71
>Simon Templeman is in his 70s too
>there will never be another great cast of voice actors like this ever again
>there will never be another good Legacy of Kain video game made
Why skip SR1 though? The game is fine.
>That Soul Reaver "Reboot" that was half finished
>Get salty it never took off
>They release gameplay videos after it's canned
>It's the worst fucking shit I've ever seen
We dodged a bullet.
There is no sun in Legacy of Kain world.
Play the Dreamcast version of Soul Reaver.
It's the best of the whole lot.
Indeed we have.
>FUCK YOU VAMPIRE
It was literally Donte the Vampire.
Start with Blood Omen, then finish Soul Reaver. Stop there.
Yes, there is.
It's just blotted out by the smokestack.
>FUCK YOU VAMPIRE
I thought it was funny.
That's what I meant.
It really wasn't.
The whole thing looked like someone just wanted to make a quick cash-in.
Ah, fair enough.
Don't forget
>Amy Hennig is burned out from seeing Naughty Dog go from a studio that cared and gave her creative freedom to one that kept her around as a diversity hire and then pushed her out for being old and not a hack.
This
Seriously?
Story? Sauce?
Unless Simon Templeman is a real life vampire he is never in his seventies.
Fun fact: He's married to Keiko O'Brien in real life.
It's just headcannon
I'm basing it on the fact that ND writing has been shit for a while(although it got worse after she left). Oh, and all this stuff:
>gamerant.com
You can ignore when she says it's still a great game/a lot of her work stays on. That's just being professional - the take away is that they set development back by 8 months when she left, that's a HUGE delay in a triple A cycle so I'm thinking something must have went down.
>vg247.com
There's a line here from an "inside source"(don't know how credible) who says she was forced out.
>screenrant.com
Cuckman says that the U4 script is a "100% rewrite" by him and Streley completely contradicting Hennigs earlier comments.
So yeah, I feel that the ND team had been gradually removing her freedoms over the years either because they thought their ideas were better or they wanted to chase dollars and pander, she finally got sick of the oppressive environment and jacked it in mid development cycle as a last "fuck you".
some one post the "why are you up at this infernal hour" pasta
I seem to recall there being some sort of internal strife around about The Last of Us did well. The way I heard it was that TLOS doing well allowed Druckman and the people in charge of that section of the studio to lead something like a coup and convinced the studio bosses to put them in charge of a lot of projects and resources. Amy got pushed out as a consequence because Uncharted was the other big thing Naughty Dog had going on..
No
Fucking detective user on the case
Fuck those guys you're right something clearly happened. You don't rewrite an entire script for nothing.
For whatever its worth "sources" claim she was forced out here as well.

I've had to put all this evidence together myself, apart from the initial confusion when she left I've seen very little discussion on it. Which is strange because shes a big name, they're a big company and something is most certainly rotten in the state of Denmark.
Get the word out there, more people need to know. I also like this anons theory
I knew what black hour this was, as foretold by Moebius himself. That snake had made it clear to me what this might portend. I beheld Raziel, awake, with no explanation for his state.
"Raziel, what dark pacts have you allowed yourself to become entangled in?"
"I am compelled ineluctably to create a concoction of chocolate, a thick dessert fit for mortals."
"It's four hours past midnight, Raziel. What could possibly possess you to craft chocolate pudding at this ungodly hour?"
"Because I cannot escape my destiny."
Everyone involved rushed to deny this, which makes me think something is up even more.
I hate this corporate culture where no one can say what happens. If someone turned around and said "I wanted to do X, they wanted to do Y so we went our own ways no hard feelings" it wouldn't diminish my respect for either party.
But the way ND bosses insist nothing happens and Amy is forced into towing the company line even though she doesn't work there any more is absolutely insidious.
No marketing and/or legal team in the world is going to let a statement along the lines of "yeah, we screwed our well-respected and well-liked female colleague out of a job because we wanted it more" get out. That's just the way it is. Can you imagine the shitstorm? Two men (one a long-time coworker) backstab a Respected Woman In Technology in a position of responsibility with a long history of success? Especially when their own success is predicated on Ellie and that Strong Female Character horseshit?
I wouldn't be at all surprised if Hennig's still under a NDA and can't legally say jack beyond platitudes.
Yeah it might be more NDA than professionalism.
I'm just saying it doesn't have to read like "we forced her out". It could easily be spun like "I've been here, working on the same franchise for a while and I wanted to try something new". Might be a bit more difficult to push in the middle of a dev cycle though. Which makes me wonder why they didn't just wait until after U4 to get rid of her. Are they really such gobshites that they couldn't wait a few months and let her finish the story she's been working on for a decade.
I suppose they are.
The only time you ever hear about something is when the devs quit entirely from making games and their company has already been disbanded.
Because otherwise they'd be blacklisted from the video game industry, due to it being full to the brim with faggots who would fuck you over, be they publishers or fellow developers.
