Shit man, please don't. I can't handle this nostalgia.
My teenage years just whirled around GW. That shit was just it.
The abortion that is GW2 still hurts to this day, always.
Ban all the gold sellers and add in a new expansion pack, though GemNet won't be bothered with it so we are fucked.
there is no hope. ArenaNet need to be fucking purged of the shit.
do people actually buy off the gold sellers? I don't see them making any reasonable profit
They do but that's not the problem, botters are ruining the game because everything is ridiculously expensive unless you are botting too and the worst part is botters are not even hiding it and are defending it like it's the only way to play now there are less players.Hey fuckers thanks to you players aren't even staying around anymore(not directed at you but you get it)
I thoroughly believe that Nightfall was a mistake. The customizable heroes were ruining the entire concept of the game.
And Kormir... fuck yo black ass Kormir. Stealing my fucking glory.
how so?
Nightfall wasn't great but I think Heroes were a cool addition and opened up a lot of opportunities
It opened up a lot of oppurtunites for solo play. Entire builds were made around them.
I remember soloing my way to Lions Arch and suddenly I needed real party members. I had to socialize and drum up a band of adventures and pray to Dwayna they were right in the head
The bants were amazing most of the time, we all had one goal and that is to finish the mission. The best part is when you sticked together in the next zone and the next mission as well.
Damn man...
I liked the heroes too, but the game expects you to know right off the bat how to work them. Optimal builds, fully runed, max weapons, and micromanaging their skills.
I died a lot before I knew how to work them. Once 7 heroes became available I plowed through everything.
I spent months playing this instead of revising for my GCSEs
heroes is the same shit as cross-server LFG in WoW -- it kills community and makes this multiplayer game pretty much single player.
solo builds like 55 monk and some necros were great but only useful in certain areas. many guilds had farming groups of 4 people. making things soloable with just 1 human actually destroyed the economy
I liked making of fun of bad party members more
>Rolling in that one dungeon with ghosts and Charr for the ZB
>Playing as my SoS
>Two party members are doing nothing and our derv guy keeps dying
>Figure "It's HM and we're effectively down 2 players, not his fault"
>Go back to doomlore, regroup without the leachers, and go again
>Derv keeps dying still, pings his health is like 60/60
>Ask him to show his build
>He's trying to run Shadow Form
>Have an epiphany for why he sucks so much
>Ridicule him mercilessly the rest of dungeon while my spirits do everything
Fun time
Crack down on bots.
Convince ANet to put the game on sale on Steam. $15 for the trilogy + EotN.
Finish GW Beyond.
you release an hd remake of the game with all expansions built in already
I guess you're right, but I don't think the heroes killed the community as much as GW2 did.
but Guild Wars is still beautiful
...
Yeah? So is DDO and yet it has the same issue. Artificers and Druids can completely solo everything and the community is poorer for it.
So is Skyrim. But its getting an hd remake as well.
DDO & Skyrim look like shit, so them getting remakes makes sense.
It does still look suprisingly good for it's age, but look at those hills man. And a lot of it looks veerrrry flat. imagine if it was updated, even to just the level of FFXIV?
Grass density and resolution up, terrain resolution and detail up, better and more shadows with multiple light sources, better buildings, higher poly character models and better animation...
It'd be truly wonderful. And it'll never happen, because fuck modern ArenaNet and GW2. At least they have the curtesy to leave the original game up when many other companies would have took it down already I suppose, I'm glad of that.
I'm scared they'll shut it down soon, but there is a surprising amount of people still playing. Depending on the time of day you can still do RA, and tons of people in Kamadan.
