ITT: We suggest good games that run on potato computers.

I really recommend fallout 1&2, aoe 1&2 and OSRS. I kind of done with them personally and would like to learn about some other games I can try. I prefer simulators, rts and rpg. Mind that my computer is a real potato. I can't even run lol or guild wars.

Pic unrelated.

Etc etc

>desperados
hey, thanks. I'm going try this game right now. I guess this thread will not take off, unlucky.

But your pic IS related

Yea I thought of that after I had already submitted. My bad senpai

Star control 2
FTL

My absolute potato of a laptop can run Skyrim on low to medium settings, so just remember that when looking for a game. It also runs Mass Effect 1 and 2 and any Source Engine game, though that's hardly an impressive feat these days. But both Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 are fucking amazing games that everyone should play that both run decently on potatoes, although be aware that a lot of the issues with running come from how old the game is, not how good your computer is.

Quake does well on anything

Viva Pinata works sorta ok on my broken toaster of a 2007 laptop

Sims 1 and 2

A faggot's game I know but it can be fun deleting the pool ladder and building loads of shit

>The carpool will arrive in one hour

>Friendships are like plants

Use openrct2, all of your issues will disappear and be replaced by new issues due to being alpha

I can recommend Rise of Nations, have done cheap LANs more than once using a bunch of spare shitty 2005 laptops. Perfect for potato users, and a fucking good game, especially if you enjoy AoE.

HAHA, TIME TO SHILL A GAME I PLAY

Red Eclipse.

A free and open source fast paced arena FPS. Has a parkour system (i heard that it was similar to Titanfall, but i haven't played it). Every weapon has two different shot attacks (you can even use a sword).

The game is like 5 years old and it's currently in 1.5.5 version.

It has a small but nice community. But right now, almost all the great names had left (all of them grew and now started working) and just play every now and then. So i think it's the best time to start playing for new people.

I pitched an idea to the creators about creating more gameplay videos to attract more people (because the ones on youtube barely showcased the gameplay capabilities of this game), and i made two simple videos with some gameplay i recorded in a couple of hours. So please don't judge them harshly (WATCH THEM AT LEAST AT 480P OR 720P 60 FPS, they look disgusting on lower res).

Fun fact. Microsoft used it to showcase a technology they were working on:

MAME is god-tier poorfag gaming.

This + other emulators of old consoles

OPENTTD
SO FUCKING FUN

Do people still play AoE2 on Gameranger?

Dungeon Keeper

Holy shit it's been a long time since I've seen somebody mention It Came From the Desert

I can't enjoy OTTD after realising that the amount you get paid for haulage is just calculated over distance, there's no supply or demand structure or anything.

if they could make ottd use S&D mapping like railroad tycoon 3 it'd be perfect. RT3 has great economic simulation but actual track building is just laying lines from town to town and occasionally having to put some effort into design to keep a track fast.

Fightcade
KoF13
Skullgirls
Shumps
DooM
Quake
Source Games

I want to give Doom a try again. Do i need a special software to play it online with a couple of friends?

Man, one of my favorite old PC games ever was Septerra Core. It's on GoG, but I'm sure you could find an old straight from disc version somewhere if you looked. Great RPG, inventive yet simple battle mechanics, quirky but not overly edgy characters, good blend of sci Fi and fantasy. It's definitely a good waste of 25/30 hours worth of gaming.

The Binding of Isaac

Been wanting to give this a go for some time, same thing goes for Cube 2 Sauerbraten, sadly, seeing how Quake 3 and Urban Terror work like shit on my computer I doubt I could get it to work.

Phoneposting can be a nightmare sometimes.

Might as well point out Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior and Serious Sam TFE while I'm at it.

I'm amazed at how decent source games run on shit hardware. I can play TF2 on my fucking chromebook.

Shantae: Risky's Revenge

Dungeon keeper 1/2

Any of the infinity engine games would be great. Also, motherfucking heroes of might and magic 3.
