I know it doesn't have multiplayer I can accept that, I think it's good and "eerie" enough when I come across a planet or outpost that another player has been to, despite not physically being there, it makes it feel weird knowing that 20 years ago, players that discovered planets and shit will have actually died in real life, and I may be the last player to come across their discovery.

I don't understand the complaints about lack of depth, I thought this game has always been advertised as a sandbox game and in a sandbox game the depth comes from your imagination.
For example, you could become a space pirate who got caught and thrown into an entire new galaxy. You travel all across the galaxy stalking the visible trade routes, plundering goods until you become powerful enough to take on giant freighters and space stations.
Or you could become a space archaeologist who collects rare artifacts found in the ruins on every planet. Some of these artifacts might be worth something to someone out in other galaxies or they might hold a special power and you need to research the history of the Atlas to unlock its secrets.
Or you could become a space zoologist who has been hired by Atlas to catalog the various rare alien species all over the galaxy. Some of these animals might temporarily become your friend and find rare items or protect you from other animals.
Or you could become a trader who wants to create an expansive trade network across the entire galaxy. You start small, trading between planets and space stations but eventually you learn what the various races like and dislike and you use that information to create your own intergalactic trade routes and become the richest person in the galaxy.
Or you could become an Alien Bounty Hunter for hire to seek out and assassinate a specific person. You might need to build up your rapport with the various races that you meet across the galaxy but once you build up your reputation you might find yourself chasing even bigger bounties.
Or you could become a Mercenary hired by the Vy’Keen to destroy all the sentinels across the galaxy. If you kill enough of them you can earn blueprints and upgrades for your weapons so you can take down the larger sentinel forces.
Maybe some of the concepts could be be improved on a little but no mans sky gives me an entire universe for my imagination to get lost in.

The thing is that the base game doesn't have multiplayer but if you purchase the Multi Man Sky™ DLC you will be able to see your friends and embark on a journey through the galaxy together.

Don't hate for me saying this but NMS takes an open mind to understand and enjoy it all.

I know I'll get crap for this but it's what I feel. I have friends that are very closed minded all the time and they hate the game. Then I have friends who are very open minded and in the past we have talked about stuff on a deep level, the friends love the game.
I feel like in order to really enjoy this game you have to be an emotional person or at least somewhat intact with your emotional said. This game is a journey and an experience. It's not your typical run and gun, story focuses game. Does anyone agree at all?

Announced at E3 2014, it was described as a game with a large universe proceduraly generated. They talked about how there are so many stars players will never see them all and mention that it would be rare to see another player.

E3 2015 came around they showed it off more. IIRC they showed off a space battle in progress which made it seem like there would be factions players could join. Nothing really was said and they moved on to another planet.

I don't remember if it was at E3 2016.

Throughout development they were implying that you would know if a player was nearby but that would be so rare and they wouldn't show a user ID. Players have now proven this is not the case through finding the same planet, analyzing network traffic, and some European region copies having a sticker covering a multiplayer logo.

In the end it's just running around in a Bethesda version of minecraft without building.

One of the devs is transgender so that triggers Sup Forumspol/ and various trans developers are circling wagons leading to an internet fight.

But it also turned out to be a $20 game sold for $60

Honestly, I think it's likely that this was just a minor hiccup. Lots of games have launch day issues, most of which by AAA developers like EA. Time will tell whether this is a bug or not, but for now..Can we all just chill out? He's delivered on his other promises in the day one patch, hasn't he?

The minute this guy makes a flaw, it's like the goddamn apocalypse. Parents throwing their babies through shop windows, teenagers running through the streets naked, humping everything in anger, helicopters crashing to the ground, and everything is up in flames.
