In stuff like the Archie comics and 06 (of all things) he was better as the no-nonsense type who really doesn't give a shit about what anyone else is doing unless he needs them. Boom just turned him into Vegeta or Dark Pit

Sonic Adventure 2 and Heroes shadow was the best shadow personality.

He cracked jokes, he was cocky as fuck, and seemed to be legitimately enjoying himself when confronting sonic in both games.

Then they fucked him up and he hasn't been the same since.

I liked him best in sa2 and heroes as an aloof and curious person playing the anti hero and enjoying battling sonic. He was also really cool in 06 for reasons that you said. I think the le edgy XDDD shit from shadow (the game) was overplayed. There are some silly lines but it feels like the predecessor to what would be 06 shadow.

To me, shadow as a character died when the voice recasting was done in 2010. His new voice sucks, his new writing sucks. Hes just lame now

Would it have been better recieved it had been a cartoony gun? Because Gamma, Omega, Tails, and Eggman had all used cartoony guns before.

He should have just stuck to the more unique chaos powers.

He could fire chaos energy as a projectile or something, and could get different types of shots, like spread, rapid fire, homing, and so on.

Basically replace all the guns with chaos energy from his hand and you take away a lot of the stupidity.

He can shoot energy spears from his hands, guns in general are completely unnecessary

If nothing else, SA2 Shadow was the reason the whole game's happened.

If the secret weapon in the GUN base wasn't Shadow or at least another sentient character, Eggman would've never found the ARK, Rouge wouldn't have gotten involved as an ally of Eggman and Shadow, etc. The game would have a totally different story.
