What does Sup Forums think of the game so far?
Outstanding. A worthy sequel to Blood Money.
Contracts/Elusives/Escalations are kinda sucky though because they are all about coin throwing and AI abuse rather than the good stuff with dozens of approaches.
Fun but not playing to the strengths of the franchise.
Still great game all around.
I'll probably love it when it's actually finished. Seriously, this isn't a fucking telltale series. This release format is ridiculous.
Should I buy Season 1 now to get in on all the Elusive contracts? And I know they had a survey a while ago about adding in old features. Have IO says anything about that?
Episodic gaming needs to die
when is it planned for full release?
Got it free with my graphics card. I'm absolutely terrible at these kinds of games but I enjoy it.
so how much longer until it leaves early access?
The format encourages savoring the levels you have and replaying them rather than rushing the end of the story.
If they released it with, what, eleven story missions tops, people will blow through it and scream bloody murder even IF the missions were all three times the size and complexity of anything the series has seen.
Plus it's not like you're short on shit to do. There are fucktons of Escalations and promoted contracts if you like that sort of thing, even beside clearing all the possible kill options for the story missions.
Elusives aren't anything special. You can get slightly different suits from them but that's about it.
I still think it's worth buying.
This, but I am enjoying it otherwise.
Three years.
>Game releases episodically
>Literal fucking cancer
>Game releases a large chunk of content and the rest later through DLC
>This is acceptable
Alright
It's a good game to burn a lot of time in, which I enjoy when I can't decide on what to actually do. Some funny, unintentional shit happens due to physics and the like. Moreso looking forward to what they do with Japan than either this or the US but I'll enjoy this, more than likely.
Does Agent 47 get to fuck Thai ladyboys in a in depth mini game like hot coffee in GTA SA?
I don't need to be "encouraged" to do that. That's how I would play no matter what, it's a Hitman game for fucks sake. Other people potentially not getting maximum enjoyment because they're retarded is not relevant to me, nor should Squeenix go to such an extreme length to try and steer their players since they're think they're too dumb to explore different options in their game without trickling it in one level at a time.
I'm actually really interested in the plot. The cutscenes are almost as good as Absolution. But the story is better.
Just figured you would go ahead and add something nobody said in there, huh?
If you're an Hitman fan, it's pretty much exactly what we wanted since Blood Money.
Strong GOTY contender for me. The only game I can see taking its place is maybe Dishonored 2.
I don't think you understand just how whiny people can be. There are people who complete about half of the challenges to unlock all items and then complain how there's nothing left to do. All they care about are unlocks.
Don't be a sperg. You say that, but look how many episodes they promised: 7. They stuck some bonus levels in later, but I don't see them coming out with more than a dozen levels this good.
You know damn well that if they released a full Hitman game with just a dozen levels, it would be non stop >12 levels >12 levels >12 levels meme arrowing. And that's just here. The normie sites would eat that alive. And, well, your $37 bux alone ain't gonna cover the costs of a game this size.
I'm not saying it's the best idea. But I can see how it supports their objectives. Plus, they get testing, data, a chance to roll out QoL updates along with the content... I understand arguments against episodic gaming but the support has been great and I'm pretty certain one of the major benefits to Squeenix of this is muddling the final level count as long as possible.
Why do I care?
Some of the escalations can get pretty clever, in my opinion. But yeah, a lot of them end up feeling very much like general stealth game challenges rather than social stealth challenges. Those are still very much unique to the main levels. The rest is just a nice bonus.
Havent touched this since paris. Was paris one of the better episodes in comparison to the others?
It works surprisingly well, imo 2bh. I always replayed the fuck out of the levels anyways, so now it's basically me playing and mastering a new game every month.
I need to do more of them.
Of all the levels since I'd only say maybe one is weaker than Paris.
I have a really hard time believing they won't have those elusive targets back. They'd be retarded to actually hold them off forever if you miss them once.
They don't seem to know what to do with escalations. Some of them are boring and repetitive with no challenge, some ridiculously challenging with no room for experimentation and only a few are actually fun and clever.
The game should be done by January 2017. With that said, they're already planning on a sequel expansion of sorts, so if you want the Complete GOTY Edition, you gotta wait like three years.
This guy is cool and I'm looking forward to his interactions with 47.
Purely in spite of itself. You could get the whole cake and eat it at your own discretion or you could have a slice delivered every few months for you to nurse on because they don't think you can control your appetite.
I think Paris is just about the average of what to expect from the new Hitman so far.
Sapienza is way better
Marrakesh is a bit worse
Paris > Sapienza >>> Marrakesh
wait so the complete edition or whatever you can buy rn wont have all the shit?
>You could get the whole cake and eat it at your own discretion or you could have a slice delivered every few months for you to nurse on because they don't think you can control your appetite
You're right. Unfortunately, the nurses have pegged me and jewed me out. I love this damn Hitman cake too much.
But I do have to say that it feels nice to not feel like I need to rush through the levels to be able to talk about this game on Sup Forums, the monthly threads for each new level are pretty comfy. I always liked episodic stuff, that's why I hate that Netflix just releases 10 episodes in a day nowadays.
The thing you can buy in 2017 will have all the content, it's just that they plan on expanding and making a second season if the game is successful enough.
I take it you can't comprehend the concept of a season?
Will the locals want to love me long time?
For real though, excited to see some hot thai babes.
You're crazy, my man.
God Tier
Sapienza
Great Tier
Paris
Good Tier
Marrakesh > Marrakesh Night > Sapienza Night > Cuban Military Base
Eh Tier
Yacht
this isnt it?
Yeah, that's it. If you buy that you get all the content from this season (we're a bit halfway through it)
They haven't actually released that physically yet, though. You can only buy it digitally. In January 2017 is when they'll release this game boxed. It will be finished by then.
what if they opt for a season 2?
No idea. But I'm sure that if they make a second season, that will be DLC in one way or another.
I like it so far, even more so because I got the whole thing for free with my old 390. I didn't like Marrakesh that much, felt too restrictive and almost like something I'd expect from Absolution. Sapienza was really good but I still enjoyed Paris even more despite it being smaller just because the virus section in Italy felt a bit too linear. So far it doesn't quite exceed Blood Money for me overall but that's probably just because it was one of my favorite games of all time and I know it like the back of my hand. I could do a suit only SA speedrun of every single mission in Blood Money on professional and have it completed within a couple of hours and I haven't quite figured out this game to that extent. Really excited for the next level, I like open ended stuff like hotels, mansions, suburbs, etc. where you're free to traverse the map as just another pedestrian as opposed to high profile stuff like military bases where everyone is kinda suspicious from the get go.
>tfw I died on the latest elusive because I tried to set a trap in the electricity puddle but electricity was on so I died instantly
dammit hitman
What I never understood about this series is the fucking barcode tattoo.
Wouldn't that be something people remember about this guy? Something that makes him stick out from anyone else?
Silent Assassin is the canon ranking, so one knows there's a guy with a barcode tattoo going around killing people.
At most they would think it's a weird tattoo.
