Sure Keifer played Big Boss in GZ, but the sudden recasting would have given the game away. Keifer was pretty good at Venom though, but they really should have given him more lines.

You Hayterfags are pathetic. If you had any understanding of underlying narrative, you would notice that Kojima has nothing but disdain for Hayter. He loves him, but he doesn't love him back. Him dying alone and heart broken was always part of his revenge plan.

Kojima slowly manipulated Hayter's feelings of hate for what happened to him into feelings of guilt for doing he stuff he did to him, and then those feelings become love to which he rejects him, just as he planned, making him lonely and depressed and suicidal. When he finally tries to kill himself he fails, and when Kojima goes to """rescue""" Hayter, he is misled to believe that Kojima wanted to bring him back, when the only thing he was really there to do was stab him in the back.

He was a nothing to him.

Hayter was total fucking trash at the end, I could forgive the cancer voice in MGS4 because Snake was fucking old but it make zero sense in Peace Walker. Then again the game itself was cancerous so maybe it did make sense after all. Despite that I'll always have a soft spot for his voice throughout the series, I just wish he didn't turn out to be a salty cunt.

Sutherland brought a sense of calmness, subtlety and maturity to Snake, which I found to be a refreshing change of pace.

For MGSV, yes. The story was more serious and subdued and Hayter would've sounded retarded in it. Kiefer had a surprising range and nuance to his work that really made BB/Medic felt real.

MGSV was my first MGS, and I really liked Kiefer. Going back to past games, it's really jarring that someone else plays Snake. They should get him to redo all of the Big Boss games.

None of the others are on PC, and I was told by friends that it was pretty standalone. After reading through GZ's Backstory menu and listening to the tapes, I didn't feel lost at all.

you can emulate all the other games apart from MGS4 and possibly Peace Walker. Definitely worth playing through them.
