Is this game worth playing alone?
Whenever I see it talked about on Sup Forums everyone says its only enjoyable if you play with other people.
Is this game worth playing alone?
>Whenever I see it talked about on Sup Forums everyone says its only enjoyable if you play with other people.
I don't believe you, this game is great alone. It's built well for multiplayer but it doesn't add anything in particular above playing alone.
Well what I meant was when people say they didn't like it everyone starts memeing >he didn't play with friends and other nonsense
Is it actually fun to play by yourself?
It isn't worth playing at all, its shitty NSMB style level design with a Z axis arbitrarily thrown in.
>Well what I meant was when people say they didn't like it everyone starts memeing >he didn't play with friends and other nonsense
Bullshit
>Is it actually fun to play by yourself?
Yes
Nothing like NSMB, but feel free to back up your claim with examples other than "i-it's bland" (which tells me nothing about the gameplay).
If you don't have friends to play it with then don't bother. The level design isn't fun or interesting, the only entertainment value comes from running into each other like retards and fucking each other over. I couldn't imagine playing this snoozefest by myself.
On that note, its pretty inexcusable that this game doesn't have online multiplayer. I mean its a 4 player game with simple as fuck level design, how hard could it be.
t. Falseflag shitposter
Cry some more.
Just try it. The levels are short enough that you'll know very quickly whether you're interested or not.
Shitpost some more :^DDD
...
NO
THE GAME IS NU-NINTENDO LIKE Sup Forums SAYS THEREFORE IT'S TRASH!!!
Sup Forums is genuinely the only place I've seen where people actually like 3D World.
Yeah it is enjoyable.
I 100% the game alone and enjoyed it immensely, so yes, get it
Other than metacritic, I guess
Its the worst 3D Mario game.
I don't understand how that's a response to what he said.
It has the worst metacritic score for a 3D mario
No it doesn't
So the people who like Mario 3D World are literally plebbit. It all makes sense why such a tasteless, boring, massive step backwards of a game gets praised.
Most fun I've had with Mario since Galaxy 1. Playing with friends is a different experience, whether or nor this impacts your enjoyment depends on your preference. Either way, its fantastic - it'll be fun either way.
>shitposter browses reddit to find a post to share to his fellow shitposters to add to his hugbox
Wait...who's the plebbits again?
>.who's the plebbits again?
the people praising 3D World.
It's great for both single and multiplayer.
I had a really great time playing it by myself and collecting all of the stars.
As with any multiplayer game, if you play with people that suck at the game, then it won't be fun. I played with my girlfriend and she is fucking garbage at any form of platforming, so it wasn't fun.
Music gets repetitious after a while though.
youtube.com
you tell me
>I'm too retarded to make up my own mind
>Please Sup Forumssama, fuck my face and tell me what to think
Play the game or watch a video to see if you like it. Don't ask a bunch of pessimistic assholes with shit taste what's good.
emulate it and find out.
I'm pretty sure OP wanted said pessimism so he could have yet another 3D World shitposting thread. There's one user in particular that has a fixation on making them.
Full price, lol no.
Selects price, ok.
I played it alone and had a lot of fun with it.
What the fuck is the point of having 8-direction grid movement and a fucking run button on a 3D platformer? People bitched to no end about SM64DS's run button but apparently it's fine here? Wow.
Were they really so fucking lazy that they just reused the 3D Land engine without even fixing the grid movement?
SM64 was a game built for 3D Mario.
Mario 3D Land / World are games that merge 2D and 3D Mario into one game.
In fact, one could argue that Mario 3D Land was the proper transition of 2D Mario into 3D Mario, whereas games like SM64, Sunshine and the Galaxy games are all experimental 3D Mario.
Game's full of content though, longest Mario game by a considerable margin.
>longest
Not true in the slightest. Both galaxy games have more content.
it's a game for people too retarded to play 3d games
you can see it everywhere in nintendo's pre release interviews, they're seriously concerned about people "getting lost" and how difficult 3d mario is in comparison to 2d ones
this is the kind of mongoloids they catered to, which makes it extra funny when 3dworldfags try the "i-it was too much of a hardcore platformer for the haters!!"
People want an actual 3D Mario not this halfway bullshit, and the sales show it.
>"But even with Mario 64 there was a lot of feedback about motion sickness with the 3D or maybe us making it too difficult.
>"Going back to our roots and making New Super Mario Bros., anyone can play that," Miyamoto continued. "So that's why we went back.
>"We're always thinking, is there a middle ground where people who do enjoy the 3D worlds of Galaxy and those who enjoy New Super Mario Bros. can both enjoy it? We're always looking at those opportunities," he added.
Miyamoto himself said that 3DW/L is watered down shit for NSMB casuals that find REAL 3D Mario too confusing.
If you support these games, you're the cancer killing the saries.
SM3DW has by far the most levels (almost 100 traditional platforming levels, plus extras like bosses/challenges/cpt. Toad/etc.) and worlds (a whopping 12 in total), as well as more playtime on average than the galaxy games
Probably the best 3d mario game
the level design is god tier
>source: my ass
>more playtime on average than the galaxy games
According to how long to beat you're wrong.
It's not "halfway" if the intention was to actually bring 2D Mario into 3D.
Also, aren't Nintendo Selects the software that sell enough that they can put it on the cheap?
Also as far as I know, it's mostly Year 1 titles.
It is halfway, they bragged about how the Wii U was soooooo much more powerful than the Wii. Then they made a lazy ass game ripping off a fucking 2D game of all things and had the balls to charge full price for it. It could've been done on the Wii with just the single player, but they realized everyone would call them out for their laziness so they arbitrarily threw in co-op with no care or forethought even though some of the levels are actually far worse with co-op.
This makes no sense, 3D World is as hard as 3d mario platforming has been (though being a mario game, it's still pretty easy) - mainly because there's actual deathpits and no healthbar.
why do people even want 2D Mario in a 3D environment? The 3D games have always been leagues better than the 2D ones.
>even though some of the levels are actually far worse with co-op.
Which ones?
>user suddenly vanishes after this post
I like how you completely ignored the rest of my post.
Some prefer traditional 2D Mario, like me. The quest-like structure of most of the 3D games is unnecessarily tedious; in my opinion, they should focus on the actual platforming.
go to 5:09 in this video you absolute fucking retard
While I'll admit some of the sheen of the Wii games by EAD is pretty on point with the Galaxy games, I doubt they could produce the same level of HD textures, special water effects and lighting as in 3D World.
No it's not, you're a delusional idiot.
But if the words of Miyamoto himself can't convince you, I surely won't waste my time.
>Some prefer traditional 2D Mario, like me
then stick to playing 2D games and keep your garbage out of our good 3D ones. You have NSMB shit, leave 3D mario the fuck alone.
>actual platforming
don't you autists realize how stupid this is
you're essentially saying classic 3d platformers based on 64 aren't "actual platformers", it's completely retarded
kek mario 3D World isn't even 1080p.
3D World apologists are retarded.
If you want linear platforming in 3D, the Crash Bandicoot series has more difficulty and tighter level design that this crap.
3D Mario used to be so much more.
>just watch this 30+ minute video telling you how this eceleb rates the game despite yourself having already played it
He is right, it's harder in multiplayer since there's certain mechanics where you have to cooperate, although it's odd that he didn't just grab the other players in the example shown, so I don't fully agree with his assertion that it's too hectic. The semi-fixed camera and doublecherry powerup alone prove effort was made for the game to work functionally in multiplayer.
>post an argument to my viewpoint
>"n-no; you're delusional!"
Fuck off I hate NSMB, 3D World is the latest good traditional Mario game. I don't give a shit if anyone's legitimately butthurt over that.
Good job twisting my words. Obviously SM64, and games like it, are platformers - the "actual platformers" quote /which you took out of context intentonally), was in reference to elements of SM64 clearly not focused on platforming - such as fetchquests to grab stars, even when they don't require any platforming to obtain. Regardless, my point was that 3D World approaches it in traditional Mario fashion - you have powerups, coins to optionally collect, and a flagpole to reach
Is this a new meme or something? We pretend that 3D World is sooooo much different than the NSMB games? lmao
What does 3D World have in common specifically with NSMB?
>INB4 "they both bland lmao"
>how?
>"just are lol!"
miyamoto already explained it in the sources we posted, retard. Go fucking read.
>he spends his time shitting on games he doesn't play
I already replied to that, keep up
my point is it's retarded to arbitrarily decide what "actual platforming" is (in this context, it means precision based actions like accurately jumping above bottomless pits following 2d mario 30 year old template) because 64 and its decade long legacy redefined what the platforming genre could be
64 and games like it are full of "actual platforming", just a different type
>my point is it's retarded to arbitrarily decide what "actual platforming" is
I didn't, I was saying that instead of having non-platforming parts in the games (like most of Peach's Castle, for example), it should focus on the actual platforming. Sorry if that wasn't clear enough in my original post.
Miyamoto actually works on these games and understands them on a fundamental level, if you wont take his word for it I don't know what to tell you.
>run button
>linear stages focused on a single gimmick
>jumping on flagpoles as the only end to a level
>castles/airship style levels with bosses
>gameplay focused on permanent powerups
>three trinkets to collect in every stage
>far weaker focus on special jumps
>Miyamoto actually works on these games
I don't think he really worked on 3D World, he certainly wasn't lead designer (as that was the same literally who that did the SMG games)
>three trinkets to collect in every stage
This is the only point it has in common with NSMB, everything else applies to all Mario 2D platformers.
I'm kind of worried about you.
I remember an interview when the Mario Club complains about him "killing all the fun", but he decided to continue making the game for "everybody". In other words, "you faggots are going to buy it anyway".
>I'm kind of worried about you.
>I've got no argument so I'll resort to vague ad hominems now
