So here is the thing

So here is the thing.

I must admit, that I completely suck at this game.

I played only first Dark Souls and never had any big problems with it, probably Gargoyles were the only frustrating boss.

Cleric beast was easy, I beat Father G-something on seven try with a bit of luck, but I fucking died to Bloodstarved Beast 37 times.

And now I am trying to beat undead giant in chalice dungeon and he killed me 15 times already.

How to git gut? I am so used to the shield from Dark Souls, for fuck I can't dodge. And there bosses kills me in two hits.
Help.

dont be afraid to get in close, the rally system is there for a reason.
undead giant is a bit bullshit though, especially the ball n chain variant, but the first one you fight isnt that bad. due to its low health, whack the big zit after you take a bit of his health down, then mash r1 to victory.

Be aggressive. It pays off in my experience. Don't just wait for the boss to give you an opening, get in there, dodge around and make one.

Get your health back from hitting, not just your health pots. I've seen player's barely ever use their attacks to recover health and it confuses me.

Dodging is much faster, you just need to get used to it. Back pedalling or dashing to the side are much quicker than the rolls in other souls games.

This X 10. A lot of bosses I beat through pure aggression and refusing to let up at the end.

Dark Souls is about methodical approach and respecting your opponents attacks.

Bloodborne is about mindlessly mashing R1 and staying aggressive.

BSB I summoned for first time and it was silly. I'm going to do it proper on NG+. The NPC tanks all the damage and is at like half health by the time you've killed it.

Stop playing Dark Souls and start playing Bloodborne

Vs most bosses you press square and R1, and thats it.

It's not Dark Souls basically.

I didnt have a death until Blood Starved Beast and then I died about half a dozen times. It's really weird, I struggled with the bosses most people found easier (BSB aside)

BsB seems to be the real skill filter at first. Gascoigne gets players used to the fast agressiveness of hunter bosses, but BsB really tests their patience.

The boss is actually incredibly exploitable if you know how, but learning the patterns and trying to take him on like normal can prove tedious, especially with that poison.

I will tell you this, beating BsB brought me huge satisfaction only matched by Ludwig and Orphan

I didn't do chalice dungeons until the very end, undead giant died in like 4 or 5 hits, shit sucks, should have done that earlier

the chalices are completely optional

stamina > hp
dodge and don't stop going fast

my tank character was MUCH better than my balanced one

dont listen to this dunkass
health is the most important stat in the game
you dont need to level stamina at all

>Bloodborne is about mindlessly mashing R1

/thread

I just summoned Alfred for BsB because why the fuck not?

If you didn't play with at least 30 health then you're the fucking shit at this game and I tip my hunters fedora to you

you got bloodborne mixed with DS3

>health is the most important stat in the game
no, thats bt

DaS3 uses the same engine as BB, thus share the same gameplay strategy.

>Dark Souls is about methodical approach and respecting your opponents attacks.

Fucking pussy.

You're better off calling for help from the other worlds. Alfred or any NPC is pretty useless for boss fights, they're only good for taking hits.

Summoning is apart of the game, if a fight has an NPC summon available then the fight was likely designed around having it.
People that make up arbitrary rules and shit on people for not following them are the worse.
>wow you summoned??
>LOL YOU LEVELD HEALTH
>haha you're no sl4 xD

Just ignore those shitposters.

Optional stat* It's only good if you're new at the game and suck balls at dodging hits.

>hurr i never got hit on my first playthrough git gud XDDD
even speedrunners level health, but they dont level stamina, because it barely does anything

>mfw I poise tanked and traded hits with every boss in DaS with fat rolling havel set/Knight set (early game) except Gwyn on my first playthrough

>mfw reading this

HP is worth leveling just to not die to the fucking haymakers a lot of bosses have. Getting a chance to hit triangle two times and keep playing instead of getting instagibbed really helps when learning the moveset of a boss.
