Who else had fond memories of these stupid games?
FLIPENDO!
What would you say made the game comfy as compared to games today?
Nostalgia, mostly.
But also the music was a big part
have bmp
>tfw played the shitty ps1 version instead of superior pc version
I love early Jeremy Soule
youtube.com
They made PC ports of all the Harry Potter games, didn't they?
PS1 nostalgia is best nostalgia. gtfo pc fags
The environments were so fucking comfy, holy shit.
Fuck off nup
get on my level scrub
>tfw repeatedly approaching silver wizard card traders until there price was at an acceptable amount of beans
>tfw jumping from the moving staircase to hear Harry say "WAAAAAAAAAAH!"
>tfw throwing those little gnome things into their holes for bean gains
>tfw attempting to FLIPENDO everything around to castle in search of secrets
>tfw destroying scrubs in duels
>tfw saving up all my hard earned beans to buy that expensive Quidditch gear from Fred and George
>tfw Huffleplebs, Ravenkeks and Slytherin scubs will never experience the joys of the Bonus Bean Room
>Did not have memory card
>Everytime I died I needed to start all over
>try'd to finish it every day for months
>never did
u dunnit nao arry porrer
Are the Lego games good?
Freeroam in that castle was awesome.
Fucking shame they dropped that in the later games and turned it into some weird shitty fps game for no goddamn reason.
Also, that magical Chamber of Secrets moment in PS2 where every part of the castle was traversable.
...
Who was that stupid fucking ghost that was always in it for the bantz? I can't remember his name but I remember his boss fight being terrifying as a kid. All I remember is that he was blue.
Also fuck that chase on the brooms with Draco. I had a shitty eMachines desktop and that chase was always so laggy
probably because the books were comfy to begin with
the idea of being a wizard in wizard school and living at a magical castle wizard school building is maximum comfy
I just ordered Philosophers stone,Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Askaban and Order of the phoenix for Xbox. I loved the ps1 versions as well. I wish they were on psn. Fucking best series man. Good books, video games and films. Literally full house. JK is the master jew.
>MFW I realize flipendo is a real spell because Harry uses it against Draco in the 8th book.
Scorpius Malfoy is the best new character.
Peeves.
All I remember of that boss fight was Harry screaming SCURGE over and over and over while he screams
Only thing I remember about the game is a stealth section in a library at night
was there a lot of those?
Yeah I just got them. Really charming.
Wasn't that in the Philosophers Stone game?
I remember being scared of Filtch and his stupid cat
>tfw no proper HP rpg
This. That's why I loved that little witch academia mini movie.
>that fucking troll chase scene
The Harry Potter on GBA was pretty fun. It was kind of like Final Fantasy or Golden Sun
>tfw bought harry potter 2 for ps1 yesterday
too bad store didnt have 1
>tfw all rockstar have to do is take bully engine and make a Harry potter rpg with it.
>You get to choose what house you're in, each of which has a dramatic change on how the game unfolds, essentially allowing 4 playthroughs
>Classes are like those in Bully only more fleshed out and interesting
>You can talk to any of the students and make friends with them over time, but those from different houses are very difficult to befriend. Each student isn't just some static NPC but are all fleshed out characters with dynamic relationships among all the other students
>You can learn all sorts of spells in class, or the more dangerous, damaging ones from classmates
>You can pull pranks on teachers, including putting firecrackers in Snape's potions when he isn't looking
>Each house has a type of morality gauge, which differs between houses (what's acceptable among them etc)
>If you get too evil in Slytherin you can learn the Unforgivable Curses
Thats a really comfy pic my man
I love Harry Potter and I wish they made a game like that. LOTR got plenty of outside the box kind of games!
'Flipendo' was a game-only spell, right? They never used it in the original books or movies as far as I remember. Then, in The Cursed Child scipt, this happens:
>HARRY: Rictusempra!
>DRACO uses a chair to block the blast.
>DRACO: Flipendo!
>HARRY is sent twirling through the air.
>DRACO laughs.
>Keep up, old man.
>HARRY: We’re the same age, Draco.
>DRACO: I wear it better.
The composer for the first couple games went on to do Oblivion's music.
Not making an Open World Harry Potter game where you attended Hogwarts as a normie student and could or couldn't participate in yearly events, including historic (book related) events was a goddamned travesty on J.K and EA's part,
Fuck em.
i distinctly remember being able to use your broom to fly around whenever you wanted in oen of the first 2 games but I could never figure out how to do it again
They are, if you like the Lego games in general. I'm currently playing them with my wife, who is absolutely shit at games, so I'm basically following her around because she doesn't see the solutions to the 'puzzles' as fast.
Is she hot at least?
Flipendo was game only but I'm pretty sure it was added into the books later on
>Oi! It's Potty-wee-Potter!
>If you look in the mirror it surely will crack!
I remember this game, it was pretty good.
Fuck the platforming though, fuck it HARD
Yes yes very good
HOWEVER
3 facts
The books are poorly written drivel. As if JK Cockmilf had a stroke and just wrote drivel.
You have nostalgia goggles on
And no, I don't have good memories of HP. The only HP game I played was when I rented it on wii, hyped as fuck to cast wizard spells; then I played it and it consisted of hiding behind cover and then shooting spells. Pretty fun for half an hour until the novelty wore off
>he only played the shittiest HP game
I feel bad for you, user
A quick search through the epubs turns up nothing, even though here it says it should be in the last two: harrypotter.wikia.com
FUCK! You hit me hard with nostalgia. Those games were the comfiest shit ever. I'm going to reread the first 3 books now.
I watch Elsa Jean's porn because she looks like a younger version of her.
I didn't even saw that HP movie nor did I read the book but I enjoyed this game. That spider was creepy as fuck though and game had quite a few weirdly eerie moments.
noice
Bump
>comfy
I fucking hate reddit so much
b-but comfy is Sup Forums, not le reddit
>Sup Forums is now made up of people who played shit like this when they were kids
Alright I'm out. Guess I'll go get some bitch pregnant and wait to die.
...
In general, the first toy seems very interesting. But in the future quickly tired of the lack of diversity. I can not advise to play it, but the taste and color of comrades there. Who will explain why.
1. First and foremost, probably minus in the game - the standard plot. To describe it, I will not, for those who are interested - Will play will understand what I mean. The storyline does not cling, do not have enough of its disclosure and understandable narrative scheme, which is why the game is lost meaning and the essence of our actions.
2. Graphics. Yes, I do not argue, in the gaming industry to sin zhalvatsya graphics in a computer game, but it's just a nightmare. Guys, even in Serios Sam schedule was better, seriously.
3. The same type of combat system. Oh, this is generally a separate topic. Where have you seen a blunt poking the mouse button? Your gerogy will produce the same attack, no matter where your opponent to what he outfit, its growth, and so on.
4. Gameplay. In general, what can be said about the gameplay ... He is not. And it did not exist. Maps are based on the same scheme, the world is boring and monotonous.
And finally, 5. Artificial Intelligence. Guys, local AI is so stupid that, I'm sorry of course, children 4 years of age are smarter than NPC here.
So, what I say Mogo. Ten criteria.
1. Theme. -
2. Gameplay. -
3. Artificial Intelligence. -
4. World. -
5. Graphics. -
6. Musical arrangement (the only thing that I somehow liked it). +
7. Interest. -
8. playability. -
9. To kill time. +
10. Spend money on something worthwhile. -
Total 2/10
>early life NES/SNES
>move on to PS1/N64 before reaching 6 years old
This is what Sup Forums was always made up of. Are you new or something?
The only HP game I've played was Sorcerer's Stone on the GBA. It was pretty hard but I do remember having several playthroughs.
>sorcerer's
Do you mean philosopher's ?
every time
That was the GBC game.
no it wasn't you little retarded nigger.
don't even try to kid yourself.
>edgy
think of the children.
>This is what Sup Forums was always made up of.
Sup Forums started in 2004, so you should probably crunch some numbers and rethink your claim.
Tell me dear sir, what was your first experience with gaming?
Fuck I need to find the disc for this
Holy fuck are you me?
Did anyone ever watch those videos on youtube that used cutscenes from the PS1 game but dubbed over the voice work with text to speak voices to make Harry and Ron argue about shit? I can't find them anywhere
Vanguard. 2600. 8/10 I guess.
I'll just leave this here, since it's a HP thread and all
>Did not have memory card
How could you allow your parents to let you suffer this much?
>Vanguard. 2600
Ok. This came out in '81. Let's assume you played it by '82, and I'm going to also assume you were around 5 years old. Born in '77.
In which case, you are around 40. Am I correct so far?
>almost every version of Harry Potter and the Chamber Secrets was different
>every single one of them was GOTY material
Sixth gen was such a fun time. It's a shame that Goblet of Fire ruined the franchise's games and moives. Even with Order of the Phoenix trying to go back to the original design, it just didn't have the heart that the originals did.
Rayman 1 for MS-DOS. Born 94.
The first three HP games on PC were all done by the same developers, Know Wonder. The first 2 movies were done by the same director. Coincidence?
Nah. I was born in '84. I didn't play it when it was new.
fuuck, i forgot it needs p1 memory card.
Still, get out gramps. God, I can't imagine how it must be to be stuck in this fucking hellhole in my late 30s.
Anyone else glance at the OP's pic and think of Eternal Darkness?
>stuck in this fucking hellhole
You say that like you're admitting you spend an unreasonable amount of time here. I'm just posting on a Cantonese comic strip compendium.
>late 30s
And yet your math seemed so solid in your previous post.
Atmosphere, nostalgia, pandering to that childhood day dream of being in a school that was full of adventure and wonder.
I didn't have a memory card either, but I managed to beat the philosopher's stone in a single day, at the end of a week of playing and replaying the entire game. I became a machine at beating that game.
the first 3 books are extremely comfy and easy to read. They are my anti-depression and anti-stress books.
stale pasta m8
So pretty much unrelated, but you remind me that my godfather left his wife and sold his home 10 years ago, and left to Thailand without telling anyone.
Last year out of the blue and 9 years without any news, he calls my home and ask for me.
I'm dumbfounded on the phone, but the first thing he asks is if I still play video games. As soon as I say yes, he asks me to help him finish a level on Harry Potter 2. I read him a playtrought and as I finish, just like that, he hangs up.
>DRACO: I wear it better.
I fucking love that line. JK still has it.
That is why I have such a hard on for Oblivion! THANKS FOR SOLVING THAT MYSTERY user!
