I have probably over a thousand hours across Halo 2, 3 and Reach of just playing multiplayer. Yes, Destiny multiplayer is basically Halo multiplayer.

I'm really not surprised by this. People probably stopped buy the expansions to the first game. So now they're gonna start all over again and release more expansion and continue to nickle and dime people and have them grind for the next 10 years.

You don't even want this game for PC. It's just skinner box treadmill: the game. It literally impedes your progress because they want it to be a grindfest but didn't make enough content or challenging enough content. Basically, you have a soft cap on how many exp you can earn a day because outside of daily chores, you get almost none and the only way to even grind exp besides your chores is to abuse spawns and kill the same couple enemies over and over. Then you literally have a hard cap on how much progress you can make through currency every week and you also can only do each piece of content once per week with any rewards because they want to string you along until the next DLC. Not to mention that most of the exotics, the real rewards people are playing for, are either worthless, a niche item, or redundant. Not to mention extremely broken multiplayer that completely breaks down when a majority of players know what they are doing and have proper outfitting.

The base game is pretty shit, but The Taken King is actually really good.

They're "abandoning" the first game because they're done with it. Destiny 2 was planned from the beginning and I'm glad Bungie is able to start over.

I fully expect a PC version. The only reason you didn't get one for the first game is because Bungie had to produce content for PS3, 360, XBONE, and PS4. The workload was too high for them. Now that those consoles are abandoned they can pick up PC support and actually improve graphics/performance.

I don't want to automatically disagree with you, but how do you figure such? The ADS focused gunplay feels very good in Destiny, but I don't really feel Halo in it (save for the sniping). It's pretty unique.

You have to be one of the stupidest people on this board if you truly think a multiplayer that lets you spawn with a shotgun, sniper rifle, fusion rifle, or any of the heavy weapons, has game changing ADS, has ultimates, and a slew of other additions is anyway like Halo multiplayer. The custom spawn weapons goes completely against what Halo is about.

You have to pick up special ammo and heavy ammo, primary is only gun always with some shit.

I dunno man I've put 800 hours into it and really enjoyed it. Most of the complaints a out the base game were ironed out with the taken King. Sorry you didnt like it :^)

A common misconception was that Destiny cost $500 million but in reality Activision was referring to the series as a whole costing that much, not the first game

However, all I can really say is that the game NEEDS classes and subclasses to be updated. They don't just need new ones. They need additional abilities and skills for the current ones. As it is the game is content starved to an extreme, feeling eerily like a slightly better polished Warframe with a steep paywall for continual players.

A Destiny 2 would be interesting, Destiny has some great ideas and lore behind the shitty framework (defend the ghost while it hacks things for 10+ hours, then replay strikes and the occasional raid) of the first game. A new game that reboots the structure of the game from a clean slate could be good.

That's why a Destiny 2 seems strange. They pulled enough people from Blizzard's staff to help ease the MMO feel and as such labeling it 2 doesn't make proper sense. I can easily see an additional expansion coming out Q2 of next year, though, with added PC functionality and all the previous content included.
