I always liked the weird Future America setting the System Shock games established. 2 mentioned something about an Eastern State Uprising or something like that.

Should I play civ 4 if I found 5 shallow and boring?

But that's not the intro user.

Military AI in Civ 4 is infinitly better than 5 along with being much more willing to rape you so there is some actual challenge. everything else is subjective whether you like it better or not

Deus Ex intro gets better and better the more you play through the game
>all those details and subtle hints like maggie chow walking away from bob and walton

It's ridiculous how one of the devs said if they were ever remaking the game(a stream in 2014), they'd rid of this intro in spite of liking it, thinking showing the narrative through lolamnesia would be better

love it cause its so goofy

I like to think SS1 was the super salty spatoon, built by the owners unimpressed father. Like some obsessed and disappointed cotton hill.He would shout over at SS2 and tell him he had useless weapons and that his respawning enemies were for weak pussies. If you walked up to enter he'd fire rock salt out of a hand loaded 12gauge at your legs and ask you what the codes on the six monitors were that you passed. If you don't remember, he tells you to walk away and check and then come back. He says this while fidgeting with his sawed off, attempting to load another deuce for your other knee.

The game was absolute fucking hell and I loved every minute of it.

Pretty much any RPG before the mid/late '90s forced you to actually take notes. Just be glad you don't have to draw your own maps for SS1.

>when the game tells you have to go backtrack to every level to find the override code

Even the good devs go bad sometimes.

putting all the games' events into the intro is hype, 3 better be this good
