it's a game where skins have origins in WW2 reenactments. it's fucking goofy in nature, and in line with the previous example, a bikini-clad girl could easily have wound up defending herself after being at the beach.

The big issue is that the developers talked big about doing early access right with regular updates and communication. They average an update every 3 months, and prioritized bs like ingame hats and a vs mode nobody wanted over making their base game complete and balanced.

The leveling is better, the music is still good, and there's more gore, but it's not enough.
I don't care if the developers are sjws. I just don't like KF2 from what I played during a free weekend. The perks are lame, it lost the original aesthetic KF1 had, everything is all wacky with glowing weapons and ugly generic zed designs now, the bosses aren't fun, maps are lame, paid dlc up the ass despite lacking actual content, they decided to throw in pvp multiplayer that no one asked for, developers are super toxic to any form of criticism, and the game is forever going to be in early access. A lot of it is just my opinion and honestly would just go back to the first Killing Floor even though they tried fucking that game up with the paid weapon dlc out of nowhere. Tripwire is a different company now. I want my 100 player modded servers

I agree with it. The team are a bunch of incompetent morons, but he's right, you'd have to be 14 to get so butthurt at them for not including a bikini clad playable character. People still haven't let it go, it's fucking astounds me.
I don't know if they fixed this, but they also fucked the benefit of being super good with a perk by adding a bunch more random damage reductions to mobs based on damage type. In KF1 it made sense to reduce explosive damage on scrakes to help keep the dynamic of the larger monsters (biggest threats in 1 were actually sirens and gorefasts, in that order. The big monsters are more consistency checks though the rare bad spawn can wipe a good team).
While firebug definitely needed some tweaking, a good perk could often pull more than their perk's weight. For example, a good commando could actually kill scrakes in up to 3 man HoE if he absolutely needed to. A good sharp could take on fucking everything but limited ammo and headshot multipliers made it super fucking risky, even with M14 red dot. Zerker with the trench could carry entire rounds if shit fell apart. Support had combos for both big monsters and was great for crowd control.
Now it's like "oh well you're ___ so you are wasting your time to try to kill ____" when that was rarely the case in 1. Perks had roles but could effectively fill another perk role if the player was good enough.
I miss when killing floor only had male characters.

It really isn't, at least the maps were somewhat different in the first one and each one required a different strategy. KF2's maps are all the same fucking gimmick. The only good one is the cruise ship.

I didn't really comment on perks besides faster leveling because they're still pushing updates that alter each class' effectiveness/role.

I'd consider the perk dynamics as well as zed teleporting to be a pretty fucking big departure from the first game, though someone mentioned the latter is (finally) gone now.

I always thought it was bullshit how Scrakes had explosive resist but Sharpshooter could kill anything in like 2 shots tops.

the first week of play she was in every single game and it got old real fast.
The problem is that fire ticking is always going to be worse (or just OP). Fire needs to be more of an area denial thing where it herds zeds instead of clogging up the screen and then making zeds harder to headshot. That or make fire a lot more damaging by tick, shorter duration into the freakout and it can spread to other nearby zeds but reduce firebug ammo so that they play kind of like a demo except once again focuses more on area management than nuking.
I agree, though. Firebug gets the shaft. Best early game perk to get quick, painless dosh by melting everything but why go it mid/late game ever?

I remember how they did the same shit with KF map contests. Everything went to shit when they nuked the server browser and made the dlc weapon pack.

Unless you're in a 6 man where the sharp is only going after biggies, sharp is a total glass canon to be able to do that. Demo doesn't have to headshot and a sharp taking something like the crossbow means he's going to nearly be worthless on trash control. Taking the LAR/M14 means he's got to be able to aim like a motherfucker.
I'd agree if good sharps were fucking rare, but they are. Definitely tied with support for good in all situations (but watch your ammo count).
incidentally that's when I stopped playing KF 1. Recently started playing it again and finished maxing out my last perk (firebug) and to my dismay servers were all but dead.

I normally played in 6-man, yeah. So that's where my opinion is coming from. I don't know if our resident sharpshooter only ever went for big zeds though. Certainly prioritised them, at least.
I just question the design of the Scrake, when demo also has another hard counter in the Siren, puts up smoke that blinds anyone near it (berserkers) when trying to clear and can't shoot anything close to them because of the safety mechanism.
On a lighter note, there's nothing better than when you take an ammo box and the sharpshooter starts screaming bloody murder because he needs every single bullet on the map, and then some.

lvl25 zeker gets killed by crawerls on the other side of the map and blames the rest for not being good team players and the ragequits at the wave 5.

Man I always felt useless UNLESS I lone wolfed over on the other side of the map. When I stay with the team as Berserker I kill nothing, I achieve nothing and spend 100% of my time running to things that will be dead before I touch them. The few times I stuck around the team I didn't get enough money to fully kit out and didn't bother asking because demo+lmao2support+sharpshooter need their money and I didn't deserve it anyway.
But when I fuck off and leave the team I actually get to participate in the game part of the fucking game, make dosh, take half the pressure off the team and can supply the rest of them with money from like round 2 or 3 onwards.
