>GTA IV
>Good
Hahahahaha, no

Anyone know a fix for the Mr DJ repack "Unarc.dll decompression error"?
I've done what it says in the readme, but that's no help.

The thing I love the most about IV is that it lets me not kill my enemies(except for the ones that must die). If you shoot people in the legs or even in the guts they'll usually not die and just lay on the floor in pain completely out of combat and then stand up and try to limp away.
This allowed me to roleplay Niko as a man that was made into a professional assassin, so he took the part. I'd always kill only my targets and if I had to fight other people, like the police, I'd just shoot them in the legs and let them be.
This also allowed me to go around after a gun fight to execute targets that didn't die.

I did the same thing. Now usually I just use appropriate force to whatever situation is, unless I get pissed.

Worst GTA.

>Depression Simulator 2008
It's great if you want to wallow in misery and sadness.

I like how sick it feels, even if it is childish as well.

am I the only one that plays vanilla over TBoGT because of the way luis runs?

I've grown to appreciate TLaD over TBoGT for partially that reason.

>HEY NIKO LETS GO BOWLING!

pic related damn near made the game for me

GTA IV is best hands down

That music video really makes me miss being young.

GTA music always got me hype. IV's soundtrack isn't better than SA, but it's still really good.

One thing that GTA does very consistently is their country music.

It really wasn't all that depressing, at least if you choose the Revenge ending.

Likable character, city felt alive instead of the empty sandbox in gta 5. Soundtrack was great as well

Literally worst GTA game

>tfw "IM BACK IN THE NEW YORK GROOVE " comes on the radio while your going 150 mph down a side walk.

>GTA 4
>good

It's low-energy garbage and litterally the poor mans Saints Row 2.

I think GTA IV was the worst simply because I didn't like Neko

>low-energy
the birth of a new buzzword. well done, user.

...

>Liked GTA IV when it first came out, even though the new driving system was fun
>Everyone wouldn't stop complaining about the game, shitting on fucking everything about it
>fast forward to now
>Sup Forums suddenly loves GTA IV, saying it was leagues better than V
Fuck you guys
IV was fun
V was fun
Vice city had the best soundtrack and atmosphere
SA is ruined by the aiming system.

Cause this is the only GTA with actual characters instead of caricatures and stereotypes

I loved the gunplay in GTA 4. The weapons and firing felt like they had some weight to them. Everything in 5 feels so floaty.

One thing I've always wanted to know is if Niko and Roman's slav speak is on point. Rockstar doesn't seem like the type of company to cut corners with important shit like that, but you never know.

I loved GTA IV from the beginning. The only thing I don't like about it was the lack of sutimization and the color of the environment was so damn dark and grey.

git gud at SA

Also play on PC.

I need to try VC on PC still.

IV is best GTA but SA is funnest by far.

V is also good.

*custimization

BEEP BEEP
best car coming through

IV was DECENT at best, it has god-tier atmosphere and polish, but HOLY SHIT is the driving not fun the gunplay is alright and the serious shift in the storytelling from the PS2 era games put me to sleep. V is better btw

>DUDE AMERIFATS LMAO

How do gta 5 babies feel knowing that Three Leaf Clover is better than any heist in gta 5? Also you didn't need to buy fucking masks to play it.

I'd love to play it again , and I have it on steam, if it didnt run like shit even on my gaymen pc

>le so random, trevor is violent, bigfoot, weed roflllll

good humor

Because it has substance.

A lot of the 16 year olds on Sup Forums shit on it because they need a whole bunch of titty anime mods to enjoy a game. See: Skyrim, Fallout.

Driving was great what the fuck are you talking about?

To be fair, you didn't have to deal with 3 bumbling retards in GTA 4, the AI was actually pretty competent.

I enjoy both games but V scratches my tuner car itch

Remember:

No Russian.

V is p good game but not grand theft auto good

i really miss being a lowlife piece of shit just tryna hustle large in a filthy greyscale urban jungle

You're deluded.

The only thing I even remember from 3 leaf clover is SAINT FUCKING MICHEAL

I can remember robbing the jewelry store, stealing the chemical weapons, and clearing out pac standard in V, which are all from different heists

gta vii
90's LC

Why would they go back in time?
No more iFruit phones, nigga

It's not the game's fault you have alzheimer.

V is only better in the sense it went full retard on purpose just to make it's point abundantly-fucking-clear to every babby who plays the game what their true ideology is.

I remember the heist, it just isnt memorable

You drive to the bank, rob it, MSM gets shot, then you escape through the subway.

It really isnt anything amazing.

How do I get over the boring gray look? I have started it like 5 times since it came out, but never got into it, went back to SA and VC instead.

Nigga, driving in that game felt like monster trucks on ice.

What's wrong with it being gray?
Cities, by and large, are gray.

GTA V based their whole story around heists because of Three Leaf Clover, but none of the heists in SP or MP can compare.

Also I live in LA and GTA V's representation is so dead, butchered, and stitched back together. I liked the concrete jungle feel of IV much more.

Majority of GTA V's map should have been city, because as much as people like to say that they love the mountains and desert, all you have to do is play GTA O once and youll see they're all lying. Everyone except for maybe 2-3 people are in the city portion of the map.

Liberty city stories has you covered for that.

beepers on your waist. Luxury cars with phones. could work.

youtube.com/watch?v=GWVtZJo-HqI

i think TBoGT toned down the grayness a bit

because niko is the most sympathetic protag

>Most people are where 90% of objectives spawn
>This means they environment variety.

That's completely stupid, I love blaine county.

It makes the city seem that much more lively. I always get a little burst of happiness coming back from blaine at night, cresting over the hill, and seeing the LS night skyline spread out before me

It felt like I was actually trying to drive like a stunt driver in a shit car. Every car in GTAV drove too well.

Okay, I'll give it another try.

I really missed 4's melee finishers. Thought it was bugged when I first tried it in V and kept getting the same thing.

holy shit how could you misspell san andreas so badly? also you got the wrong screenshot of the game.

you mean.. they drove like actual cars instead of toys?

most people do spawn in the city, but the people just fucking around and not doing crates, vip work, or the random challenges are almost always in the city. The hollywood mountains and parts of the valley should have been there instead of redneck blaine county. But there's so much useless space in GTA V's map that they could have tried to get the city right. they only tried with santa monica, venice, beverly hills, and a small part of hollywood. the rest of LA got neglected.

Yeah, because when I play GTA, I'm looking for a realistic driving sim, not a fun arcade game.

Actually having a memorable plot with ONE protagonist

Anyone have anything to say about the DLC?

I've played through the story mode quite a few times on 360 but never finished the last two missions
I've just picked up the full game, DLC and all, on PC and would like to hear what people thought of them.

Do they start when I've finished the game?
Can I choose to go straight to them?

normie

hey buddy. you want wacky, saints row is 2 blocks down.

That sounds cool as fuck.
I thought your idea was ass at first, but that sounds like it could add a lot of flavour to the game, a unique feel that I don't think has been in any game to date.

Now that I think of it, why isn't anything set in the 90s?

Play the base game first, then TLAD, then TBOGT.
iirc you can start them from somewhere in the pause menu at any time but you'd have some events from the main story spoiled

Well, I'd heard some complaints from actual Serb in Sup Forums about Niko's accent. His VA wasn't actually Serbian, so there's that.

The DLCs are stand alone episodes.

You should play the main game, then TLaTD then TBoGT.

That's their release order, and the best order to play them in.

You should play all three. They complete one over arching story that's pretty well put together. Better than any GTA's story, and better than most vidya stories. Although that isn't saying much.

It did, the city definitely seemed more saturated playing as luis

That's fine if you want that but, I played IV coming right off of SA and I just wanted to die whenever I got in a car or especially a bike.

Hey man SA's driving was ___fun___ maybe if they kept that it wouldve been a better game.

no fuck off, no more in the past shit.

>GTA VI
>Present day
>Vice City
>2 playable characters; 1 cop, 1 crook
>Cop is undercover narc, going after a major drug cartel
>Criminal is part of the major drug cartel
>At one point in the story they're forced to work with each other under mutual benefits

It was always fun to finish off wounded enemies with a headshot if I was feeling really pumped.

And if you want more realistic car physics, there are numerous sims out there to sate your desires.

There's a reason rockstart changed the driving mechanics to something tighter and more arcadey, most people disliked the way cars handled in IV. I personally don't mind IV's physics, but I think that V's driving is much better for the kind of game it is.

>some events from the main story spoiled
At this point, I'd ridicule myself for not knowing the story by now, but I'll do them after I play through the main story for the first time in a few years.

Release order tends to be the way to go, thanks.

>Better than any GTA's story, and better than most vidya stories.
I thought the main story of IV wasn't too bad, but that may have been the decent characterisation.
Could you elaborate on what makes the stories so good and how do they over arch?

>multiple characters
fuck off that ruined gta v
also
>vice city
>current year
lmao

That sounds absurdly cliche'd and not even in the good GTA way.
Not something I'd get until it was damn cheap and only because it'd be a GTA game.

I'd much rather something more original.

I get the love for Vice City, but they already did the only interesting part of Miami's history.

The diamonds you see being poured into the pot during the GTA4 intro are being smuggled into the country, somebody steals them and sets up a deal and then that deal is interrupted by a 3rd part.

So you got Niko from the base game, Johnny from TLATD and then that nigger guy from BoGT.

It's like a Guy Richie moment in his films when all the bad/good guys meet up by chance and everything goes wrong for everybody.

It was pretty cool.

How did it ruin GTA? It's a great mechanic, even though there is really nothing else about it like individual character quests.

You're just mad because you're forced to play as a nigger for half the game.

I already think that GTA IV has one of the best vidya stories, and the two DLC's complete the whole diamonds storyline and tie up a few loose ends.

SET IN OCTOBER THE OBJECTIVE COMFIEST TIME OF THE YEAR

NYC IN THE FALL = GOAT

That sounds just up my alley.
If someone had given me just this small description of IV's DLC, I would have picked them up years ago.
Never felt like looking into them until recently, so thank you, anons.

>VI gets announced
>it's not VIce city

Not that user, but was Franklin supposed to be the main character, moreso than Michael or Trevor?
Just finished it yesterday and an awful lot revolves around him even though he's just the least nigger-y black from the 'hood.

gta v's mc's are the most forgettable because they have no depth as opposed to gta 4 where the whole game goes into detail

I personally think it has the best ragdoll physics in a game that I've ever played.

>Vice city
>After the 80's

WHY?

So you can enjoy all the old jews and cubans and white trash tweakers?

Miami has absolutely 0 cultural relevance outside of the Scarface coke fad

If its LC again I will fucking kill myself Spoilers: It probably will be , I seriously want them to do modern version of the other two cities from SA

I'd like them to choose somewhere they haven't done.
Maybe even outside America because shit, crime happens everywhere else.

I'd take a second 80s Vice City tbqh

Las Venturas would be alright too
