ITT: "It was just a dream" done right
ITT: "It was just a dream" done right
The only reason why it was done right is because it was not a twist and literally the initial setting
...
No, it isn't.
The Japanese name of the game is literally Dream Island.
The setup is that you're shipwrecked on a mysterious island with a giant egg perched on top of the tallest mountain.
If you don't think anything is "fishy," then I don't know, man. You're given hints about having nightmares as the game opens, and you come across several owls with cryptic talk of dreaming as you're picking up your sword on the beach.

I'm a proud FF8 hater but that fan theory honestly makes the story even worse;
>a bunch of untrained, untalented pissant mercenaries attack the most powerful, evil sorceress in history and have their asses handed to them, the end
>oh by the way the rest of the game is just a pointless waste of time since it never actually happens
...
should I get a gameboy zelda, or the snes zelda for 3ds? I already played LttP (but haven't finished it)

time for you to re-evaluate some things in life before you go off the deep end m8
If I did that I wouldn't be in this shithole. And neither would you.
Get Links Awakening if you dont mind games having a dated feel.
Get Minish Cap (if you can) otherwise.
i would post psychonauts but i would only get shit for it anyway
Mario galaxy 1
I finished minsh cap long ago, but never played the gameboy ones
I don't mind it being dated ( I want to play the NES zeldas too)
>stop hating what I like

Doesn't the owl litteraly tell you at some point that you must gather all the instrument and play trhe Wind-fish ballad to the windfish in order to wake up?
Doesn't Marine has an non-existential crisis at some point because everything will disapear once you wake up the wind-fish?
Fuck, in the french version of the game, the wind fish is called "poissorĂªve". Translates to "Dreamfish".
I think they couldn't make it more obvious at this point.
Yeah everyone pretty much spell it out to you. It was the "fuck you, you're going home to sit in a wheelchair" of its time, in that Link knows everyone will disappear, but wakes up the windfish anyway.
>dated feel
Link's Awakening was the first modern feeling Zelda.
That one Silent Hill ending
