Am I being meme'd on? Are these reviews fucking serious?
Am I being meme'd on? Are these reviews fucking serious?
positive steam reviews are bullshit, what else is new
I thought mafia 2 was aight
yeah, but 94%...
That just means that 94% of the people who played the game liked it, it doesn't necessarily mean its an amazing game.
It's playable but its not really fantastic or anything.
game is one of the top 5 comfiest games
They changed the soundtrack afaik.
I wish they´d re-release the first one.
Really comfy game with superior driving mechanics, especially if you set them to simulation
Kinda puts one on a complentative mood.
oh god, how did that many people enjoy the awful gameplay?
Doesn't steam ignore "non-helpful" reviews now? I know it won't let you see them anymore unless they get plenty of funny votes so you can find them in the funny tab.
>normies have shit taste
WOAH STOP THE PRESSES!!
What awful gameplay?
The worst thing about the game was most quests involved following a dark red trail in your smellovision
What if the gameplay being bad is just a meme?
WoooooW.
>What awful gameplay?
uhhh the garbage combat??
the combat that provided no challenge or depth and more repetitive enemies than a fucking jrpg
The combat is serviceable and has its issues, but it's by no means garbage.
Please point to a game in the same vein with excellent combat that surpasses all others, because I'd love to play it.
>every single time
>"witchers 3 combat is boring and shitty"
>"yeah, b-b-but other games!"
if your game can't stand on its own merits comparing it to others doesn't do shit
also
dark souls 2 and 3 both had far better combat and AI and were more challenging
Adding stutters to my proposition doesn't strengthen your argument, it only makes you look like a tool.
And Souls games don't have good combat either, the fact you'd say 2 (infamous for its biteless attacks) and 3 (the easiest Soulsborne to date) is worrying.
They are good games, +90% of people that chose to give the game a thumbs up or down, gave it an up.
This does not equate to the games being godlike 9/10's. It just means 9/10 people that played them enjoyed the experience.
Steam reviews aren't critiques, they are just a yay or nay.
reading comprehension? how dare you?
>biteless attacks
>coming from a witcher drone
loving every laugh
And souls combat has its problems but is still miles ahead of witcher, where even death march is easy as shit once you have a couple levels under your belt
also need i remind you, it wasn't me who asked for a comparison
Any reason the first game hasn't returned yet?
>boring nonentity of a protagonist
>spends half the game meeting endless identical mobster caricatures
>spends the other half killing them
>the music swells to show how deeply the mannequin of a protagonist cares about the death of mobster 16b
>fanbase rushes to compare it to the godfather and shakespeare
yup, it's a mafia game alright
I got pretty sick of that too, but I'm getting tired of people spouting this meme.
There are very few missions where you actually have to use the witcher sense. It is completely up to you whether you use it or not. Outdoors, pay attention to the ground and your surroundings if you're following that stupid red trail. Whatever you're tracking has left physically visible footprints in the dirt or left objects behind on the ground, trampled grass, broken branches, etc.
You can choose to not use the witcher sense and try to physically track whatever it is you're looking for on your own if you like. The same goes for looking for items in the rooms. You can search and investigate them manually without highlighting them with the witcher senses first.
>Am I being meme'd on?
What does this even mean?
And that rating just means that a lot of people liked it. That doesn't mean it's instantly a 9/10 or 10/10 game by default. Different folks, different strokes
How does it feel no matter how often you memepost it'll never stop people from literally cumming from playing witcher 3?
Souls combat isn't miles ahead of Witcher 3 combat.
In fact, it's LITERALLY the same fucking thing.
They just introduced another 2-3 primary attacks in the big bad monsters attack library.
At the end of the fucking day. I'm playing Witcher 3 for the fucking story. It's a goddamn ARPG, I stress the RPG in that abbreviation above A far more.
It's not literally the same fucking thing, but it's very similar. If you were to add weight (which doesn't make sense to the witcher because he's supposed to treat sword fighting like a ballerina does her dance) and more time in between attacks, they become the same game.
It's pretty funny how hardcore souls fans treat their shallow combat as something more. I've always loved the souls game because of the atmosphere, universe and lore, not because of its rather mediocre gameplay.
That cut content
retarded plot
and Tommy Angelo
Me and too of my friends annually replay it at christmas, because of the first few chapters. The game is not even good, but the comfy level is off the charts.
>complete lack of content
>gameplay is boring and repetitive
>driving sucks
>gets universal praise because le joe wasn't part of the deal
how does it feel that all witcher titles combined still sold about 5 million less then just skyrim alone?
>witcher
>RPG
kek, barely. Its the choose your own adventure book of rpgs, incredibly shallow in terms of actual role playing considering you have serious limitations on what you can do
>how does it feel that all witcher titles combined still sold about 5 million less then just skyrim alone?
Kinda lukewarm.
Did you know WoW made billions more profit than skyrim? Oh wait noone cares.
>subscription fees vs actual number of people who played the game
wew, mental gymnastics ahoy
You're all fucking retarted, its the best Italian Mob experience you will ever have. There are literally no other games that allow you to be in the mob like this. That's why the ratings are high, its unique.
>Inb4 GTA
That doesn't count and you fucking know it.
>how does it feel that all witcher titles combined still sold about 5 million less then just skyrim alone?
why would I care?
It's interresting because Mafia 2 wasn't actually doing very well on it's original release, where it was mostly panned as an average game and a worse successor to Mafia that was completely riddled with bugs and problems that bordered on making the game unplayable.
That being said, times change. People going from Mafia to Mafia 2 won't like it, but newer people most likely will.
I bet you don't even know how Rotten Tomatoes works
>Souls series is just rebuttal
hahaha oh my fucking god this board sometimes
fucking clunkiest combat in existence
>he wasn't part of the deal
You got Steam percentage wrong.
It's percentage of people who reviewed game positively, it's not like 94/100.
Now, if you want to know why and for what reason people review it positively so much, you have to actually read the reviews.
Some might've loved the atmosphere, the city, the music, but disliked story.
Is it still locked to 30 fps?
So much care went into the game im not surprised
What metric is more useful: 95% of people who bought the game liked or 95% metacritic score?
...
>souls combat is worse than the twitcher
kek theres no way you're serious
makes sense, I mean look at those graphics!
Former.
I don't really care about scores of latter type, former at least can tip you off if port is shitty (for example, Tales of Symphonia is a good game, but had terrible initial release, therefore had mixed reviews (they fixed it)), if game is not worth its price. It basically allows flexibility like that and leaves room for change.
>flexible
>thumbs up thumbs down
lol
it's a good game
i miss joe
It's not really a real opinion, real opinions come from the reviews.
While Metacritic score just condenses all the number to give out one single two digit number.
Games that appeal to a niche audience will always have a decent score.
If a game
>runs at 60fps or higher
>doesn't crash every 5 minutes
>appeals to the type of people that like that style of game
It will almost always be positive.
Like/dislike ratios are better, but only because everyone has a different meaning for the "normal" 0-100 score.
For example, EDF4.1 is a 6/10 game to me, but it's still a good game.
6/10 by ign or some shit is a bad/mediocre, but 3/5 is good
Also Steam reviews are a whole different thing from, say, Metacritic where evryone can post whatever they wish.
On Steam you see exactly how long they have played the game and even if there are some shitty joke reviews you can still dig up the good shit.
Like someone who played a game for 500+ hours and reviewed negative, maybe the game went to shit in a recent update.
If metacritic was about likes vs dislikes itd be more useful for consumers.
>What kind of combat do you want senpai
>MAKE ME FEEL LIKE I'M IN A RUSTY OLD MECH
>uhhh the garbage combat??
Thats some good bait user
how dumb are you honestly
Except TW3 does stand on it's own merits. There's plenty of things it does better than any other game in it's genre and things that something like the Souls games don't even attempt. You just don't care about anything that it does well and prefer to shitpost about the combat because it's mediocre.
yeah it was a good fucking game
shame mafia 3 is with a fucking MOOLIE, hopefully they pull a gtav and make you able to play Vito but thats dreaming at this point
It helps that a lot of people got it for free.
Really makes you ponder...
