It's a tragedy that God of War stole its thunder

The cel shading in that looks beautiful
You never hear about the first Timesplitters but the game is balls hard, was stuck on the first level for ages when I played it
More jrpgs need boss fights from the enemy perspective
10/10 powertrip
There's an action game about raising a gladiator but I can never remember it
If you want to inflate your backlog, .hack's pretty good. Know that the first three games are pretty cheap, part 4's outrageously expensive, and the GU games are roughly $60 apiece, though.
More series need spine art
Been looking at .hack but there's so much of it that it's slightly offputting. Sure that's the one that's even got an anime tie in you should watch as you play or something like that
Sheila is best bae
Anyone have some PS2 exclusive games recommendations that still emulate like piss in PCSX2? I need an excuse to justify bringing out my Slim again. I don't mean stuff that is CPU intensive either, rather games that are straight up broken or have awful graphical issues.
>Buying PS2 games
Sup Forums really is retarded.
inb4 "muh collection"
PCSX2 is still shit my dude.
Gran Turismo 4?
Heard that Okage runs like shit but I haven't tried it yet
This one runs perfect for most of it but whenever it goes black and white, like flashbacks or the prologue, you need to switch to software mode which keeps dipping in speed.
cover looks like dude sex invisible war
>Hey, what if we made an entire game out of Drakengard's flight combat!
It was okay
Might help if I don't forget the pic
...
The Ace Combat PS2 trilogy.
So awesome. The only game I know of where you can chop a guy's arm off and then beat him to death with it. Also surprisingly hard too.
kino
are you the guy that kept posting webms of this weird fucking game
Obligatory JUST fuck my strings up post
youtube.com
I was simply affected by the unboxing thread and had to spread the word about this absurd shit
Seems universally agreed that the stealth sections are the only flaw of an otherwise excellent game. Even my ps2 mag at the time was frustrated with it
It's kind of shitty but really neat at the same time.
Like Sims 2 with better character interaction and tons of fucking but worse everything else.
>that screenshot
lel, everything I remember of this game involves tits in some way. sure there was a peeping minigame or something
Manly samuraicore
what are modchips and DVD-Rs
>modchip
Don't even need that, you can softmod as long as you've got a memory card, usb stick and this game. Best thing is that after you go through the trouble of actually installing shit to the memory card in the first place, it only takes a few minutes to install to another.
>not getting a fat PS2, a network adapter, and a hard drive to play your games
Laughing at you niggas
Hated this game at first because of how hard it was, but it's actually a really fun game. It'll take a little bit of extra work to get it working on properly on pcsx2 though.
If you haven't played this yet, be careful if you do. This game has so many missables that I even missed shit while reading a missables guide while playing.
Before my backlog intimidated me.
Now it's saving me from the horrors of modern gaming.
Can you guys post more info about these games, atleast how good they are?
What genre? Art has me interested.
Best transformers game to date
Rythm game. They later made Elite Beat Agents.
I'd imagine all the games here are fairly good. Just google them if you have too.
Guitaroo man is a rhythm game with a fighting game health bar. Lot's of fun, Writing is straight out of a cheesy anime. Good kind of cheesy though.
I'll need to switch to that eventually, laser is going on both of mine
Rhythm game, really charming one that doesn't play quite like anything else. Also rock solid if you put hard mode on
youtu.be
I never was a fan of stealt, but I kinda like it. They were pretty intense
anyone??
Wanted to start this but the PCSX2 wiki said it emulates like ass in HW mode
SW will probably be too slow
God damn somebody else play this game!
>listening to gitaroo man ost
>acoustic legendary theme comes on
still gives me chills
>Sub Rebellion is a mission based submarine shooter game where the player controls a sub whose mission is to defend the remnants of the free world. The action takes places 15 years after a cataclysmic event that causes planet-wide earthquakes which destroy most of human civilization. What remains of humanity now lives in the depths of the oceans, where an evil military-industrial complex seeks total control
>The submarine controls are complex and it has the ability to rapidly ascend or descend, manoeuvres which are essential in combat. The Chronos uses a variety of weapons - cannons, torpedoes and special weapons - and equipment which can be upgraded throughout the game by completing missions and collecting artifacts
Sounds badass
Question: does the ps2 version have eng subs?
I liked the music and gameplay but man I hated the art style and voices, U-1 especially.
Nope, just checked.
Game is entirely in english though if that's what you were worried about
>Now it's saving me from the horrors of modern gaming.
I'm not gonna lie, this makes you kinda sound like a bitch.
...
Gladiator Begins on PSP is pretty dope.
...
He's hardly wrong, modern gaming hasn't been worth following for years. There are still occasional games worth playing but the past has mountains of them
Fuck. Thanks man, my eng listening is pretty awful, basically I can only understand eng text, and the story seems pretty fun.
I play ps2 more than anything else. Looking at my shelf for some games I don't see mentioned often.
Its forever in my memory.
Isn't GIANT ENEMY CRAB the sequel to this?
This and the second one if you want an atelier game that plays more like a traditional jrpg.
Reminder that gaming budgets are biting many companies in the ass so as a result you don't get as many games as you did in the 6th gen.
...
Fuck you I loved it tier here. I love all the Suikoden games. Even 3.
Also the only Western game with good boss fights
Is the 3ds one a good place to start this saga? Never played an AC before and I want to know why they are considered good
Another srpg. It's pretty ok.
Xbox version is superior.
Did anyone else play this game?
One of my favorites - too bad they'll never make another.
Is Electrosphere really that bad?
Yeah, don't let name fool you, AH legacy is 2 remade,
The english version is, JP is one of the better ones.
Best opening cutscene in an rpg. I still haven't gotten around to the sequels, though. Played through Koudelka again recently.
I somehow replied to myself..
It's like anime Ace Combat but with explosions and a combo system and complex scoring system and slowdown if you don't lock it at 30fps
FUCK master play, only got through it by cheating
I just wanted to play the 6th stage on master play for maximum comfy
Last one. It's an RE clone with an X-Files episode on steroids story. I fucking love this game.
>try to assassinate the final boss at his wedding
>get blown the fuck out
>now stuck in a 5 day timeloop where you get cucked at the end every single time
>lose money and most of the inventory every time too until you recruit a character with a time safe
Unique JRPG and I'll recommend it for that, but fuck me the lack of direction in that game makes it a chore to play. Oh, you weren't at the plaza at 16:00 on day 3? Just wait for the next loop and hope you get there on time and know what to do with the opportunity :^)
At least wandering around town playing guitar hero was fun
>
...
Yup.
>x-files RE clone
didn't know I needed this in my life
Don't worry, that happens sometimes.
But here is another question, what's wrong with english release?
Very good choice, underrated as fuck
>not buying the PS2 games you actually want to play
Unless they're insanely expensive, I don't see why you wouldn't do this. Alternatively, you could mod a PS2, but some of us like having copies of games that we like.
>The game features Mark Snow's theme music from The X-Files series, as well as voice acting by the show's actors. Additionally, bonuses with the game include "behind the scenes" footage (featuring several of the male actors recording their lines while wearing bright red lipstick, a common practice used to get better enunciation and crisper sound) and commentaries from the series.
I think some of the show's writers were involved as well. It's a really great game, man.
They cut out the whole story, apparently
>follow the hot downtown singer home
>she goes to the magic academy apartments
>wait outside till morning
>a loli comes out
>follow the loli about her day
>she ducks behind bins in the afternoon and transforms herself into the hot singer
Game is a stalking simulator, and it's wonderful
I'm not sure how I missed this, but thanks user.
Back then they didn't have translators, so they had to completely re-do the story for the english release, it had cut all characters and shaved off a bunch of missions as well as about 5 different endings.
I used to love that shit as a kid
Wow.
I really liked this one actually. I remember Sigurd being really strong in my game.
Licensed shovelware, ho!
This wasn't that bad actually, even kept a save before the all out war levels that felt a bit like dynasty warriors
Kicking myself for losing my physical copy, this just doesn't emulate at all
...
Still kicking myself for trading this into a gamestore for like 8 bucks.
the top most insert on the rear looks a lot like micheal jackson
I love blaring this OST while driving around with my windows down.
this was actually a great game.
Sucks that the laser on my slim went out. But what's this i've heard about fat PS2s and playing games from the hard drive?
somwhere in the world kate beckinsale has a tear running down her face
Dude I've been looking for that game like forever. Played it at a friends house years ago. Didn't remember the name of the game but I rememeber the cover art.
you see it to, don't you?
