PS4 wasn't revealed until E3 and launched in November, I believe. It's not uncommon.
Joshua Perry
Can we make an educated guess on when Nintendo will fucking tell us wtf is the NX?
Jaxson Thompson
>Can we make an educated guess on when Nintendo will fucking tell us wtf is the NX? Personally, I think January 2016. They don't want to kill the WiiU/3DS's last big Xmas.
William Lopez
2017, whoops.
Elijah Howard
I dont think I can handle it anymore
Jack Mitchell
Drive your car in to a brick wall at 40-50 MPH user.
With any luck, you might end up in a coma for a few months
Logan Carter
I thought they said they'd be revealing it this year specifically. I could be wrong though.
Landon Williams
Yeah, they said later this year. September most likely.
Joseph Powell
No one knew what mario 3d world was until 4 months before it came out.
Nintendo isnt terrible at keeping secrets like. Its becoming terrible at it but its surprisingly tight lipped compared to other companies in official statements and leakes.
Josiah Wood
TGS sounds logical as a reveal date.
Elijah Rodriguez
PS4 was revealed February 2013.
James Stewart
Nintendo isn't even present there. It's a different audience than young school children they want.
Andrew Diaz
No, they said something like "we'll talk about that more in 2016" or something. Which, technically, they did I guess
Xavier Green
They announced it in February, the console wasn't revealed until E3.
Justin Howard
They announced and revealed every part of the specs. There was no surprises left.
Leo Scott
They showed a few trailers and spoke a little about specs. It was hardly conclusive.
Lincoln Moore
The NX is 2 separate components (but available more commonly as a bundle) - (1) a specialized controller peripheral fittable on most smartphones and tablets; (2) a home console system, compatible with mobile technology
>(1) Whilst you're encouraged to use your existing smartphone, Nintendo will also sell a touchscreen/gyro peripheral if you don't have a phone/tablet at hand. Nintendo's custom controller fittings can attack to most mobile devices and the "Nintendo MyControl" application works for both android, iOS, and Nintendo's own mobile peripheral. When attached, many games will allow you to play using a touchscreen, gyro, cameras, microphone and NFC features that most modern phones supply. This device can be used without a screen via clipping the 2 sides together to form a standard, screenless, controller.
>(2) The controller attachment peripheral can (optionally [some games may require it]) be used to play games, both multiplayer and singleplayer. In addition, another application "Nintendo MyPlay" will allow users to stream their console games to their MyPlay-compatible devices, as an enhanced version of off-tv play.
Jordan Moore
Fuck off.
Carson Hill
Your fan fiction is one of the most retarded things Ive ever read.
First, if the controllers attach to the phone, then you wont be able to use the earphone plug or charge it while playing since the controller will just cover those.
Second, the battery will be shit. Most phones dont give you more than 4 hours gaming, and then you are out of juice for your actual phone.
Portable batteries wont save you since the charged is covered by the detachable controller.
>Most phones dont give you more than 4 hours gaming That's already far more than the original 3ds.
Robert Morris
I never mentioned the form factor of the controller peripheral.
Nathaniel Sullivan
to be fair, the ps4 wasn't even announced til 4 months before its release, but yea this is weird that they're not saying anything. It'll probably be shit
William Turner
See
Oliver Lee
It doesnt matter. Phones dont have a standard placement for headphones and usb.
Chase Powell
Perhaps the controller peripheral doesn't have a standard way to attach (i.e. can be placed top, bottom, or sides of the phone/tablet)
Nathaniel Thomas
But those aren't the specs user.
Justin Sanchez
Being this dense.
It wont have connectivity with cellphones. Simple as that
Austin Foster
Their non-standard connection is patented infrared reading, which obviously isn't going to work on random devices.
Mason Gutierrez
Maybe look up in the dictionary and learn what it means them.
Kayden Howard
To build intrigue
Wyatt Ward
First of all Nvdia is not supplying the GPU, it's AMD.
Second, Nintendo only cares about it's Japanese audience, you know the audience where they sold the most consoles at.
Third, just fucking wait.
Mason Cox
It was just a vague theory based on rumours and alleged leaks we've seen so far.
What patent are you referring to?
Levi Mitchell
You don't have any source for that user.
Every knowledable person on the internet says it's nvidia. Even Nvidia's henchmen developers DC Project Red are praising the NX, saying it's an amazing device.
Ethan Taylor
The recently published one. AMD didn't specify what they were supplying, so their announcement tells us little.
Luke Wood
The WiiU got praise from devs pre-release as well, I guess we won't know until it's out.
William Taylor
I haven't seen that, got the pics/source?
Thomas Murphy
The developers are known collaborating shills of Nvidia.
>"Semi-custom business >AMD, which competes with Intel (INTC) and NVIDIA (NVDA) in the CPU (central processing unit) and GPU (graphics processing unit) market, dominates the gaming console market. It’s the sole supplier of semi-custom processors for Japan-based (EWJ) Sony’s (SNE) PlayStation 4 and Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox. It has also won an order for Nintendo’s upcoming console, codenamed “NX.”"
>"Sony is launching its new Polaris based Playstation 4 Neo next month, and Microsoft and Nintendo are also revising their hardware with AMD’s latest chips (a great win for AMD). So, more exciting months are ahead of us, regarding the new gaming hardware."
>"Drivers of this long awaited upturn have been a two generational technology progression by the company in virtual and augmented reality, improved penetration of the regional data center server market, new supply agreements with Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Nintendo (OTCPK:NTDOY) and Sony (NYSE:SNE) for semi custom chips, positive company guidance, and two lucrative technology licensing deals in China (see "Why AMD Is Headed Higher")."
>"As for second quarter results due shortly, this quarter has historically been a relatively good one for the company. In this calendar quarter AMD has won orders from Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo for semi custom chips for game consoles in a segment which is the most profitable for AMD and which normally exhibits higher sales in the second and third quarters."
Chase Young
If it's true, I hope they're using a decent chip.
Nathan Martinez
>Nintendo are also revising their hardware with AMD’s latest chips Any chance this is simply Nintendo ordering a final batch of Wii U chips?
>Every knowledable person on the internet says it's nvidia. The likes of Emily Rogers and Liam Robertson and their goonies aren't knowledgable, or are the very least far from credible.
Jack Russell
In their own words, they don't want anyone else stealing the idea they are working on. Whether this is true or is a deliberate way to drum up hype via mystery remains to be seen, but people sure can't stop talking about it.
Charles Rogers
The chip I don't know. That is still in rumor territory.
People say it's a custom version of the RX480/470 that got announced a few months ago
Samuel Harris
>People say it's a custom version of the RX480/470 that got announced a few months ago Good luck trying to fit a +100 watt chip into a handheld.
Easton Taylor
Wii U doesn't use the latest AMD chips.
Ryan Hughes
They're scared of the reaction so they're delaying it as much as they can
Robert Richardson
it's for the console.
there will be more than one form factor for the nx.
The handheld with use a different chip
Jace Butler
That's not how marketing works.
Jackson Green
I hope it's something like this.
Camden Fisher
That's why it wasn't shown at E3, they rather show actual games than dumb tech demos.
Julian Evans
you're a dumbfuck if you're hoping for something like this, doing a handheld gimmick will either drive up the cost a shit ton or compromise the hardware to compensate.
Did you learn nothing from the retarded WiiU pad? Just make it a regular home console
Asher Brooks
Everyone makes fakes with 2 controller parts docking on the side but that's pretty stupid, surely it's more like to have a single hinged controller dock on the bottom
Brody Wood
Because it isn't launching in March. That was a move to appease the many investors who believe the Wii U needs to be replaced soon. Nintendo is too stubborn. Besides, it's good to scrape every last second they can get to ensure that not just the launch is good but the follow-up.
It will be delayed until November 18th, 2017 (five full years after Wii U).
Adrian Ramirez
Is the dual screen, clamshell design for handhelds dead?
Anthony Ross
Place your bets. We will know everything in a a couple of months or so.
Camden Cooper
Because people tend to copy what Nintendo does in the last gens. Wii had motion controls, Sony and Microsoft did Move and Kinect. Wii U had off TV play, Sony and Microsoft did Vita remote play for ps4 and Smartglass. Pokemon GO was a success and china copied it in a week. They are trying to avoid this with the NX.
Or maybe it's not ready and the march date was a lie.
Xavier Sanders
...
Angel Torres
Because it's garbage and they know it.
The suits at Nintendo must be shitting themselves.
Isaiah Adams
>doing a handheld gimmick What handheld gimmick?
Ryan Harris
It doesn't exist.
Ryan Edwards
Sony had remote play between PSP and PS3, fucking idiot. Sorry to inform you that Nintendo hasn't invented everything.
Bentley Ward
giving a home console a handheld add on gimmick
Landon Russell
Nintendo isn't present at TGS? I was planning on going there this year.. was hoping to see breath of the wild.
Carter White
I'm so salty that this whole mobile thing keeps getting repeated and will probably end up being true.
Camden Lewis
That's not what the pic shows though.
Adrian Baker
nintendo rarely, if ever, is at TGS
Noah Clark
They're just going to not make any games for it like they did the Wii U.
Daniel Brown
>remote play = off tv play user, let me be sure to be the first one to say you are a legit rerard.
Cheers.
Jordan Howard
...
Wyatt Collins
>ignore facts, embrace rumors: the pic
Jaxson Clark
>console chip
Lucas Brooks
I too believe there will be another (completely planned) "delay"
Mason Morales
>I can't read past two lines: the post
Xavier Nguyen
Nah, it will launch in March, exactly 6 years after the 3DS.
Cameron Harris
Oh I can, that's why I'm calling it shit.
Evan Green
>Implies picture ignores facts >Oh no, I totally read it all, I swear You are too busy sucking dicks to be able to read it all, it seems. Or, alternatively, you are too stupid to grasp the meaning of the words you read.
Jace Green
>first half is rumors >"this doesn't men it's a home console" even though the context makes it obvious it's a home console >what we can assume from this: The NX is more likely to be a handheld than a home console Yeah nah it's shit.
