No Man's Sky may be shit, but it's almost as if you're comparing a major AAA title from two years ago to a shitty little medium budget indie game.

It doesn't make No Man's Sky any more impressive, it's still just an incredibly tedious resource gathering grind with the occasional mish mash of a monster that you may find, but it's completely ridiculous how No Man's Sky has been blown up so incredibly big and out of proportion.

By definition, it cannot be an indie game. It can also not be a AAA game but it's charging the price of a AAA game and should be compared as such.

It really isn't. It has just been treated as one.
Basically. Because marketers caught wind of how the themes of thegames were very much trendy and thus had great marketing potential. So they pushed the shit out of the game with a AAA level markeitng campaign. Making the masses think of it as a AAA game because it received the same kind of marketing as a AAA game.

But that's just the marketing side of things. No matter how hard it's been marketed, on the development side of things not terribly much has ever changed from it just being your typical indie game.
