Tell us your vidya sins
I played dragonage 2 to completion 3 times and bought all the dlc

I consider Fallout 4 a good game
I main Genji on overwatch. I play him every map every scenerio regardless.
I still want to see TIE fighter vs X-wing sequel more than KOTOR 3 or Imperial commando.
I only play Reaper
I played Metal gear solid one to four
through youtube
I bought no mans sky
i enjoyed Sword Coast Legends
>that
>a sin
That's called being a patrician, user. KOTOR is trash garbage compared to the flight sims.
It's also called being quixotic because the franchise died the moment Disney bought the rights and we'll be lucky if we ever see another game that isn't AAA trash.
I enjoy Hitman(2016) more with a controller.
I watch more gaming on youtube than I play on average, and I still play a fair amount of games.
Me too
>I act like I have played video games that I have only seen let's plays of
That's serious, user. Repent!
Most of the third person games are designed to be played with a controller. How is it a sin? It's just common sense.
I hate resident evil 1. I think 5 was better.
you what?
I hate you
I think that the Thief reboot was pretty decent
I convinced about 80% of my old PS2 outfit to get into Star Citizen back during year 1. I was "that" guy - Worse yet, I sold my package off at a huge profit last year. There is no greater shame.
Sometimes I pretend I replayed a game several times, because it can help getting a point through. In fact I simply don't replay games, not even those I consider my favorites. I simply do a very long, completionist playthrough, with maybe some brief dicking around with other builds.
The reason for this is that the first playthrough is sacred. The way it happened is the way it happened, and playing through the same story with a different build or faction or whatever feels very, very wrong. So autism, basically.
I actually like dragon age 2, once you get past the horrific gameplay it's the only game to do anything original at all with the writing.
I play mountain blade on reduced damage
Fable 2 is one of my favorite games of all time
My first witcher III playthrough I got the "bad" ending - not following any guides or whatever. I also think the "Bad" ending is the best and canonical ending.
You're a real cunt
When I played through MGS1 I used an emulator and got through disk 1, but couldn't switch disks, so I watched the rest on YouTube.
I got all 326 story routes in Shadow the Hedgehog for the PS2.
I got Ending E of Drakengard 1, and upgraded all weapons to their maximum level.
I don't know why I did these things, I'm probably just a video game masochist.
I tell people SMT is my favorite franchise but I've only beaten Soul Hackers
Well, it certainly is the most interesting ending, so I can see why you'd feel that way.
I play GTA online
Bruh I loved GTA4 online, it was fucking hilarious getting some shitty car in the airport and dodging like 20 helicopters trying to rotor you down
i think videogames are fun
I consider the Golden Sun duology the best JRPG of their generation.
I consider gen 4 Pokemon games the worst in the franchise by an enormous margin, with gen 2 not far behind.
I think Platinum games are inevitably mediocre clones of each other and the developer incredibly overhyped, probably because of Kamiya's meme status.
I prefer Metroidvania to Classicvania, I think Symphony of the Night is the second-worst Metroidvania, and Castlevania 64 is my favorite Classicvania.
OG Doom is the best FPS of all time, and is best played with keyboard only. Mouselook is for scrubs.
The only good Final Fantasy games are either on the NES or spinoffs. The franchise became trash the instant it adopted ATB and never recovered. ATB is incidentally one of if not the worst battle system ever implemented in an RPG from a major franchise.
I prefer Dreamland style Kirby games to Superstar style Kirby games. I think Superstar is the weakest Kirby game outside the first.
And perhaps most terribly, Starbound is better than Terraria.
i spent hours reserching dark souls lore and know all about it
i like dark souls 2
>I consider the Golden Sun duology the best JRPG of their generation
Regardless of everything else, you're a pretty cool guy.
i dropped devil survivor on the last boss
"No Witcher dies in his bed"
This.
Ill just post some unpopular opinions
>I believe Mario Galaxy is objectivley the greatest videogame of all time
>Everything valve has done is shit apart from portal
>PC is fucking trash , I want to play videogames not spend 90% of the time installing shit and getting it to work
>DS2 & 3 are non canon
>MGSV is a 10/10 videogame
>The Witcher series is generic LOTR d&d elf shit for austistic manchildren, same with the elder scrolls series
I fucked up Witcher 3 during my first playthrough and got the worst ending, I lied that I got good ending to my pals
What is primordial snake and what happen to them in dark souls 3?
I mostly play idle/incremental games.
no, no you dont, dont lie
I was working at customer's house installed cable for tv. The woman there was really bitchy and wouldn't let me take the old equipment including old cable. Was going to throw it all away anyway. On the dresser was pokemon crystal. Yes I swiped it. They only had a two year old so he wasn't playing it.
It didn't even have a save.
I've got a few
>I have hated a few games based on artstyle alone
>I hate most remakes as they usually botch either artstyle or characters
>If a game requires a subscription it immediately goes on my will never play list
>I prefer to watch people play horror games rather than play them myself because I cannot get immersed enough to be spooked
>I killed a scrib once with a stray fireball
These are completely unforgivable
>If a game requires a subscription it immediately goes on my will never play list
Is that a sin?
Subscriptions just feel stupid to me. I already paid for the goddamn game, no way am I giving extra money every month or whatever to continue using it.
Even though most of your opinions are right, you're still just a phoneposter.
> I like playing on my ps4. ( not a sin, but maybe to pc elitists. )
> uncharted is one of my favorite series. love the gameplay and Indiana Jones feel to it.
> first fallout was 4 and i liked it
cum @ me fags
-i got majoras mask on n64 when it came out. played it a million times from start but never went past ~50%. now i got it on 3ds the day it came out and i still haven't beat it.
-i like(d) gone home. a lot
-bioshock infinite is my favorite from the series. also one of my favorite games
-fallout 3 > nv > 4
-sonygger
-nostalgiafag
i probably don't belong here and have redditor taste, but I've never even posted on reddit
>I killed a scrib once with a stray fireball
You monster. Didn't even reload?
>I hate most remakes as they usually botch either artstyle or characters
Out of curiosity, are you a purist? How do you feel about reboots, spin-offs, or mods?
If we weren't on this thread.....
I pirate all my PC games and I buy all my console games because I wanna destroy PC gaming, and even when I don't make any difference I can sleep at night knowing that I did my share.
This started pretty believable until the metroidvania stuff. Everything from there down, you pretty much would have to be the most hipster tryhard on all of Sup Forums
I basically only play Reaper, because he's the only solid anti-tank character and I do not trust my team when it comes to tank-busting.
This game will forever haunt my profile
I'm you, in reverse. The only difference is that I think consoles are pretty much slowly killing themselves since they're just becoming PCs anyways, so I don't have to worry as much.
I've only beaten Persona 4 and Raidou 2, and yet I will argue about any of the SMT games and claim to know everything about them simply because I used to frequent the SMT general back before /vg/.
They are greedily fishing on them for DLC.
DA2 was terrible, but the final DLC was ironically the best thing about the game. Received the former for free and pirated the latter. The let's play thing is serious though user, get that treated.
Oh man. Which route? It's not THAT tough.
Sins-wise:
I had the Prima guide to FFVII and pretty much followed it to a T when I was 12 or however many years old.
In FE:Awakening, before the decision regarding Emmeryn's death, I buckled and checked what the consequences of each decision were online - I was in bed with my PC turned off at the time, unaware that it was all a pointless endeavour.
>I have hated a few games based on artstyle alone
This is pretty much the definition of why normies hate good games. Because they aren't flashy bang bang shit. Normies could care less about actually good game design and mechanics.
Alright time for you all to judge me
I think oblivion is the best of the elder scrolls games
Yes I put sex mods in
I think fallout 4 was a decent game but still a shitty Fallout game
I enjoyed undertake and played it 2 time through
I put 275 bucks toward star citizen and got bamboozled by the ruse cruise
I love blizzards games, and have had an active Warcraft account since 08 with no interrupts
I'm also not a fan of most JRPGs
Forgive me for my sins Sup Forums
Sad thing is I made it nearly to the end of Strange Journey and SMTIV but I stop playing them for some reason and its hard to get back in when you don't remember where you need to be headed
>-fallout 3 > nv
I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions and all, but it's stuff like this that makes me think that there are genuinely wrong opinions
Zenyatta's a great anti-tank character. Then again, he's getting nerfed, so perhaps not for long.
I assure you, my friend, it is all entirely true. Symphony of the Night deserves praise for taking the franchise in a new, better direction, but it's very clearly a trial run where they were finding their footing, and is full to brimming with bad design, useless clutter and outright broken elements. Compared to what came after it can be considered a relic at best.
The problem is that neo Sup Forums equates "don't like subscription fees" with "I LOVE F2P". Which is horseshit. I love games that I pay for once and never have to fucking do another transaction ever. I just want to exchange money for a game and get lost in the world without a fucking business transaction ever coming in to the equation. There is no greater immersion breaker in all of gaming than shoving business into the game's title screen or assets.
I've never played a Zelda, Metroid, Castlevania, Doom, Quake, Resident Evil, Silent Hill or Sonic game
I've never played a Zelda Game
>equates "don't like subscription fees" with "I LOVE F2P"
You'd have to be goddamn retarded to think tha-
Oh right, I forgot where I was for a second.
Yeah, that's a bitch. Never a good idea to drop an RPG right before the end. Completed both of those, personally - great games.
Holy shit.
If someone says they like Dark Souls but not Demon's Souls, I immediately think of them as some bandwagoning cunt who only played them because they were told how hardcore they were, and probably used guides to get through the game because they wanted the fucking nerd credit of being able to say they're a part of the niche. It just makes me thing "These are the people who were mocking Dark Souls when Skyrim came out, and now they're flip flopping because Dark Souls got popular. What cunts."
It's a totally irrational hatred, but I have it.
That said, I cheated to get the platinums in Dark Souls and Demon's Souls.
primordial serpents are actually still a mystery in the lore, tho we know great deal about 2 of them and what they did before dark souls 1 takes place but we dont have much knowledge about their origin, judging from their deeds, how one of them was a "friend" of gwyn and one of them wants to see the fire age end, we can assume they were here even before the first flame and not bound by it, it makes them immortal beings that existed before the lord souls(aka, greylanders) like dragons
serpents are also said to be "imperfect dragons" or soemthigna long the lines, so they can be somehow related to dragons
other than those things, we dont know their origin
kaathe found the londor, krampft helped found lothric, we will know more about them in dlc
I've been playing fallout 4 for months for no other reason than chasing the perfect milf body in bodyslide.
And I've got this nagging feeling that I'll never find it
None of those are actual sins, faggot. Except:
>275 bucks toward star citizen
Everyone seems to make it sound bad, people seem so willing to put out cash for MMOs, xbox live and things like that but yeah, why should people have to pay for what they already bought?
I hadn't saved in a long time, would have lost way too much. I'm fine with spin offs and mods, in fact some spin offs I enjoy more than the original series like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon over the mainline games. Reboots I'm cautious about, they tend to mess things up a lot.
I'm talking colors and shit, I loved Dynasty Warriors 3 and loved how it looked, but when 4 came out it took me about a year to accept the duller colors and the lack of so bad its good voice acting.
I make incredibly specific criticisms of games that I have never played, seen, or know much about
the fact that I'm usually pretty close to the truth means that criticism is very, very easy to fake and requires a lot of insight to do correctly
I don't enjoy skub
I've done this but in skyrim with lewd mods.
Save yourself non user and uninstall the game and nmm. No man should spend that much time just to get his fap on.
>The franchise became trash the instant it adopted ATB and never recovered. ATB is incidentally one of if not the worst battle system ever
Woah, slow down there, partner. You realise you can turn off ATB in every FF game that has it, right? On that note, confession:
I almost always turn off ATB in Final Fantasy games since I prefer to ponder over the perfect move rather than panic in order to stop the enemy from getting in free hits
They really are. I just happen to have to put it aside for some reason in real life and coming back is hard. I really want to beat them then move on to SMT1 if I can find something portable to emulate it on that isn't a phone. I might get a psp or vita to install it on.
I started playing it on pc but I hate being tied to a pc to emulate games like that.
>I played dragonage 2 to completion 3 times and bought all the dlc
I've done this too, i hate this game more than any other game but i like dragon age so i thought it would need to move my saves to the next game and then they announced dragon age keep
>I consider gen 4 Pokemon games the worst in the franchise by an enormous margin
>ATB is incidentally one of if not the worst battle system ever implemented in an RPG from a major franchise
you're alright, user
Not him, but this isn't necessarily about graphics per se. Sometimes you just simply can't stomach an artstyle, to the point you are unable to get over it and enjoy the game. For example I never had any issue with the earliest Might and Magic games, I love Jeff Vogel's shit to death, and had a great time with Tales of Maj'Eyal. But I can't, for the life of me, get into Divinity: Original Sin, because I find the artstyle downright atrocious.
>I didn't find Dark Souls particularly hard, but I go along with the "OMG2HARDCORE!!!" meme for free respect points with "gamer" friends
>I own 3 copies of Morrowind for no reason whatsoever other than my fanboyism
>I enjoyed Blacklist more than MGSV in terms of sneaking
>I thought DDC was a return to glory for Touhou after a bunch of gimmicky instalments
>I own 3 copies of Morrowind
the real sin should be owning morrowind on a console
i dont even remember man it was like 2 year ago, i spent 40 hours on the game on my 3ds, the voice acting was awsome and i loved the gameplay, i dont even know why i dropped it there, the boss fight looked intense and boss looked cool
i didnt even attemped the boss fight, i just dropped...
i also dropped persona 4, 40 hours in much more years ago, i have persona 4 golden now but it is on my backlog just never going back, the thought of playign trough all the stuff i already did discrouges me
I pre-ordered Spore, finished it once and dropped
I pre-ordered WildStar, finished it once and dropped
I pre-ordered The Division, finished it once and dropped
I love watching Dota 2 tournaments more than playing the game (have 2.4k hours clocked in)
I think about purchasing Overwatch every day, but I never do
Tekken is my favourite fighting game franchise
I mained Axtingusher pyro back in TF2
Back in high school, I used to come home and play UT2, but I renamed the bots to my teachers' and classmates' names
Kinda want to do the same at some point. Friend of mine has the originals on SNES (in Japanese, naturally), which I'm slightly envious of - would be more envious if I could actually understand them. Also, NEUTRAL FO' LYFF, NIGGA
I don't. But buying 3 copies of a game just because you like it is still retarded, and I am a bad man.
>I didn't find Dark Souls particularly hard, but I go along with the "OMG2HARDCORE!!!" meme for free respect points with "gamer" friends
It was the reddit-tier meme squad that did that. People like my friend and I were just excited to have a fun action/rpg with good combat and exploration that wasn't piss easy
>NCIS 1000/1000
>Hannah 1000/1000
amazing
I liked Sonic Unleashed.
And Skyward Sword.
And Bioshock Infinite.
And Star Fox Zero.
>Woah, slow down there, partner. You realise you can turn off ATB in every FF game that has it, right? On that note, confession:
You can have the game pause the gauge progression when one fills. You still have to wait for gauges to fill to take action, and have to wait for skills to decide to execute themselves. It's just dead air for the sake of dead air, the kind of shit you'd expect from a phone game trying to nickel and dime you. Absolutely unacceptable.
I cheated my way through every final fantasy I every beat as a kid.
Too bad combat in Dark Souls kinda sucks. No impact, and the AI is worse than Daikatana's. Still had fun though.
Honestly, it was the whole push for a Dark Souls PC port after it came out that did that. It turned it from a niche game into OMG THIS GAME IS THE HARDEST EVER YOU GOTTA PLAY IT!
I like that Demon's Souls shares a bit in the combat sector. As that was largely modified when they started relying on excessive tracking and silly amounts of enemies in DaS2 and beyond.
But the reason I would say I didn't like Demon's Souls that much is literally just the world. There are cool levels in Demon's Souls, that I'll admit. Some are excellent in theme-ing. But once Dark Souls came out and I put about 8 hours or so in... After I realized that it was basically the 3D SOTN style game everyone was waiting for. And the possible options on replays were huge. I just lost everything for Demon's Souls. It was just a case of a sequel ruined the prequel for me. I mean, it's by no means perfect, but it had almost everything I could have wanted in that style of game. My only true sadness is that they forgot about that with the 3 games afterwards. I would kill for a truly open and connected maze like Dark Souls and King's Field 1/2 (english of course, I know numbers are different in Japan) again. Especially if they made the whole game that way this time, instead of stopping half way through.
>Played the Avatar movie game on both Xbox and PS3 to completion
>I play games
Fuck me that's awesome. At least there's an english patch that isn't bad but of course the text is huge and there are issues with spacing but not a bit issue. I'm not weeb enough to care about learning Japanese.
>NEUTRAL FO' LYFF, NIGGA
Better that than an edgy chaos shitter
LAW 4 LYFE BIIITCH!!!!
i pirated AAA PC games :(
Man, I completed Devil Survivor (on DS) to the point where I had practically all the endings. Love that game. Pirated it originally, but then I imported DeS2 and bought both Overclocked and Record Breaker. Still not played the new content in the latter, though. SUCH GOOD GAMES. I do wonder why more games don't adopt that kind of combat system, fusing grid-based tactics with old school RPG battle systems
