What's going on?
>I'm playing through Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, taking inputs from you
>I'll be asking for input on who gets used, who gets stat items, etc.
>no restarts for lost units, barring game overs

game over/restart count: 5
currently dead:
Wolt - died to OP's sheer stupidity
Shin - died to OP's lack of attention
Wendy - dead because it was thought to be wise to field 3 armorknights on a stage with nothing but pirates and scattered mages
Elen - ate a 20% accuracy hand axe
Dieck - lost to RNG, one-hit by a druid
Lance - got crushed by a paladin
Echidna - got annihilated by reinforcements

FAQs
>which game is this, and why have I never seen it before?
this is Fire Emblem: Fuuin no Tsurugi, also known as The Binding Blade. It was never released outside of Japan, but its sequel, The Blazing Sword(which served as a prequel set 20 years before this game), was released worldwide as 'Fire Emblem'
>I'm new to Fire Emblem. What's a good game to start with?
Fire emblem: The Blazing sword(aka Fire Emblem in the USA) is a fantastic starting point, featuring a comprehensive tutorial. Alternatively, Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones also has a briefer tutorial and is all around easier.
>I heard this series is just shitty waifu pandering
that's Awakening and Fates.
>what does each stat do?
HP-health. lose it all and your unit dies(permanently)
STR/MAG- how much damage you do with attacks. this is augmented by your enemy's defenses and your own weapon's MT
SKL- your chance to hit with attacks, as well as score crits
SPD- if your SPD is high enough, you'll be able to double-attack enemies, also affects your chance to avoid enemy attacks.
LUK-affects accuracy and avoidability, and reduces enemy crit chance.
DEF-affects defense against physical attacks
RES-affects defense against magical attacks
CON- unit's weight. this affects who they can rescue or be rescued by, and if your CON is too low, you will suffer SPD penalties while using heavier weapons.
>Why are you so shitty?
I'm impatient and keep getting forced into using awful units.
>What game, if any, are you doing next?
Path of radiance is ready to go, but I may take a short break. 6 is burning me right out on FE. I'm also willing to take input on another game that may be entertaining to play.

I'm feeling a hell of a lot better, but I still likely won't go till midnight tonight.

alright, last night there was never a resolution on this...

who gets these?

Fae

Your pegasus knights.

mah boy Roy

Our boy

I fucking love the tower of berserker staves.

Tate

Fae

That's one of the reasons I don't want to replay FE6.

>LAST TIME
>we encountered a super-jew
>OP managed to not kill douglas by accident
>narcian went down like a bitch
>OP vomited out a lung

Tate and Lilina

alright, have 2 votes for roy, tate, and fae each.

here's their current HP values.

more like shit out his colon.

I still say Tate and Lilina

I remember replaying that stage 20 times because i didnt want anyone to die just to give up accept my failure, and sacrifice Douglas, making sure the others survive.

Tate. I mean, Fae is fragile, but is she worth the investment when she can only be used 26 more times?

Fae. It is not like she is getting many level ups and has 120% hp level up.

that's 3 for them then.

so, one robe for each?

welcome back OP, hope u feeling better.

missed u

Why not?

still tired, but otherwise okay.

I am ok with it. I was going to vote Tate for the other robe anyway, so people would´t get pissed at me voting Fae.

robes for the fluffy dragon goddess!

alrighty, with all that decided, let's DO THIS.

that's a nifty name for boltings.

oh god

After this chapter, the game totally drops the ball on difficulty. You should be good as long as you have a Restore staff on hand
>That thumbnail
200% WEW

CHINESE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

!!!!

Oh shit, the Boitings are early

the promo bonuses in this game are silly

...

Nice bait, nigger. He has good res.

alright, because I don't feel like dying early, I'm going to turtle as much as possible and avoid losing units prematurely.

This is fine. Make sure Jugh gets some levels.

>Inb4 he still loses somebody.

fuck, those heavenly arrows are going to get old FAST.

You haven't seen a promotion bonus until you promote Leif to Master Knight in FE4.

>+4 or higher to every stat
>+3 Move and gets a mount
>A Rank in every category except Light

OW.

That's just to make up for the fact you had to suffer using pre-promote leif

siege magic is bullshit.

Its not that bad if you throw the pursuit ring on him. Leif is one of the better candidates for the ring anyways

Imagine how Finn felt for carrying that worthless shit.

I love you guys
Even with all the shitposting
Please stay safe

While that helps some, he's still dead weight in 4 until he can promote, atleast Lachesis had staves to abuse. But yes, master knight was fucking nonsense, only thing to coem close i think was thiefs promote that turns them from paper to monsters

You haven't seen promotion bonuses until you promoted Narron in TRS.

It helps enough to get him through the arena runs which is a big boost to exp.

bretty gud!

...

haven't touched 4 in a long while, but my problem was always his shit HP more than the fact he couldn't double. Will have to give it a try whenever i try it again now that the new patch is out

well there's one berserk baited.

alright, the boss' berserk is empty, and the silence staff is empty.

now there's just purge and bolting users.

With Jews, you never lose!

Seliph can get a Brave Sword from Patty in the chapter that Leif joins and Leif has an A in Swords so you can sell Seliph's Silver Sword so Leif has a great weapon.

whomever conceptualized siege magic needs to be shot.

Did Raigh get hit by all of those?

his main problem was the fact that he starts at level 1 and the situation he starts out in does not give him much room to grow since Finn is going to be stealing most the exp or else Nanna and Leif will die.

His base stats are pretty good for a level 1 unit and his growths are up there with gen 2 characters. Lack of pursuit is another big issue, as his two skills don't really shine until he gets some level ups.

thus far raigh has eaten 3 boltings and 2 silences, only dodging a single one thus far.

all of them had sub-50% accuracy.

>since Finn is going to be stealing most the exp
There are a lot of brigands there that are free exp, Nana weaken them, Leif lands the finishing blow.

Promoting no one is a issue, you just pass around the Brave Blade in the castle so everyone can clear the arena and don't forget to use the chapter 7 arena.

>FE6 hitrates
There's your problem. I don't care what anyone says, I'm convinced the RNG in this game is broken in some way

I usually do that, I can get Leif to about level 10 before the end of the chapter, and master Knight either before the end of chapter 8 or in the arena at chapter 9.

holy fuck lilina, you really want to survive those dickings!

alright, I split up my party now...don't think I'm going to bother baiting out the purges, since I can get in and kill the bishops fast enough.

I'm happy Fates didn't have siege magic. It would be ridiculous with no durability.

>inb4 Douglas gets nuked

and on the other side.

>lower hit rates on weapons
>overall lower stats on your units
>overall higher stats on enemies
Thus your hit rates are lower than you're used to.
There's nothing wrong with the RNG in the game.

fuck yeah SUE

>lower hit rates on weapons
That's one of the main reasons I don't like this game, honestly. The weapon triangle is worthless because swords almost never miss and axes almost never have hitrates above 55% unless you're Gonzales

Hit rate in 6~12 uses 2 rolls and then averages them to decide a hit or miss.

Basically: if you have a 50% hit rate, the average of the the two random rolls (that are numbers from 0 to 99) must be 49 or lower to hit. The true hit rate, after doing the math, is something like 51%, a bit higher. The result is that high hit values (80 or more) will have something like 10% more chance than actually written (80 hit rate has a 92% to hit, don't ask), low values are actually lower (40 is actually 30, 1 hit rate is hilariously low, just 0.03%), so getting hit by a 40 or less hit rate is actually really bad luck, as is missing a 85 hit rate attack.

Fir, meanwhile, will crit EVERYTHING

clarine's gotta go fast

Where did this Gonzales cucks Roy meme come from not that Roy doesn't deserve it for being fucking garbage

if I lose a unit, it's going to be in this turn.

The exist in staff form.

the game presents the 'canon' pairing to be lilina/roy.

lilina can support gonzales and have a confession of love with him.
add hotbanditdick.png, and...

...

Gotta make sure those Elfires hit, bruh

Fates woulda gave seige tomes the same use system as staves got. I kinda wish they had just cause of all the after-fight debuffs you could get in that game, would make enfeeble look like nothing

Because it's funny that the main character gets cucked by a retard.

...

time to send gonzy in to fight the bishop boss--what's the worst that could happen?

shit.

you can't touch this, fucker

I miss crit animations.

I miss good support conversations

gonzales like to hit things

I miss the Wo Dao

...

How did his HP get so high? Did you feed him robes?

That's his natural HP pham

That's average for Gonzales

so....we going Ilia, or Sacae?

pfft, no, he has pretty much a 100% growth, had a pretty big bonus on promotion, and he started at like 30 hp when he was recruited at level 5

Well, since you killed Shin, im going to assume Illia unfortunately

>yfw you somehow unlocked a secret route nobody knew about

looks like we have our answer.

>No Murgleis because Shin is dead
Good going, Nigger. You're just gonna have to cheat and warp to the first Ilia chapter
