It's a good game. you will get used to the interface pretty quickly.
just know some basic keybinds like
docking, galaxy and sector map, comm, kill menus and how to navigate the menus and you will be fine.

no, since it's a completely different game.
NMS is some weird kind of minecraft style survival crafting, the goal being to explore a bunch of empty, procedurally generated planets.
X3 is a classical space sim, complete with a handcrafted living universe, huge and complex economy, literally hundreds of different ships (you can acquire and pilot all of them), hundreds of different weapon systems, an extremely deep production system for all these different ingame goods, lots of NPC factions that you can side with or wage war against, ...
X3:TC is a really good game, but it's not for everyone. if you're willing to put in a lot of time and effort, you will find a very rewarding game with tons of depth and content.
