I mean... i'm still gonna buy it, but anybody arguing it didn't get a fairly massive downgrade is delusional.
Hoping the downgrade was the smooth out the frame rate, cause in the demo it's almost unplayable at times.

It could've been partially due to shitty youtube compression, but this is at 1080p
They removed the dynamic global illumination, the textures are shit tier, the reflections and shadows are very buggy, and the models are low poly for the most part.
In most situations the game will look worse than The Witcher 3, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, and even Metal Gear Solid V.
Those games you mentioned are pretty good looking.
They're mid range. They got nothing on the upper tier.
>They removed the dynamic global illumination
did they? that was the only thing the game had runing for it in terms of graphics, now it is just a turd
The engine supports it but the consoles couldn't handle it. The PC release will probably have it switched on.
>They removed the dynamic global illumination
we just can't have nice things can we
Honestly, the quality is all over the place at the moment. I think part of it is they can't into video capture. We'll just have to wait and see when it releases.
I have no doubt that the game is downgraded from E3 2013 footage and subsequent stuff, but I also feel it's gonna look a lot better than some of these shitty videos are portraying it.
And even if it looks as bad as the worst screenshot/footage, that doesn't really matter, so long as the gameplay/story is up to par. There'll be a PC version at some point, and that'll probably look amazing.
What facts are you basing this on, exactly? It's probably better to wait for Digital Foundry to analyse the game, as they'll be comparing it with Platinum Demo and Episode Duscae, too.
We'll know then, the nature of any downgrades. But considering that Episode Duscae actually got an upgrade, I doubt they are gonna be removing something like dynamic GI.
My eyes? As for the GI, Siggraph documentation and L Spiro, a senior rendering technician, said it had to be removed for consoles. Dynamic GI can't be on the console version, the game already runs badly enough.
Digital Foundry don't talk about downgrades by the way.
Yeah, the video is obviously shit. They've also been for the longest time, posting godawful IQ photos for whatever reason as well.
>posting godawful IQ photos for whatever reason as well.
The game just looks bad.
A video can still be shittily compressed and then rendered as Fake 1080p .
There have been many varying qualities of this game so far so just wait for the final version before making any comments desu
It's not fake 1080p.
>Digital Foundry don't talk about downgrades

eurogamer.net
10 seconds in google. They talk about patches impacting games negatively all the time, too.
yeah they often showed the PC version
the console version will suck in terms of graphics, hopefully the performance will be fixed at least.
This is from a PC build of the game from a while ago, and they thought it was worthy of being uploaded.
they do though?
they have already done 1 or 2 revisions on FFXV
Looks like it's rendered at like 540p.
283 kb
this is not offical for sure
or is it?
In their analytical reviews they don't, that's what I thought you were talking about. The Face-off articles or the reviews.
These are just click bait articles for highly controversial games, guaranteed reads. Especially the Witcher 3 damage control one. That was awful.
FFXV won't get one of these.
>This is from a PC build
Do you have proof of that? It looks like a console game to me. The XV PC screenshots I've seen had little to no aliasing and higher quality stuff.
They will definitely compare the final game with ED and PD, as they bothered making articles for both of them, and they've got all the tests/footage/data.
They even did a pretty in-depth article just comparing ED 1.0 and 2.0. If there's a downgrade from ED 2.0 and the final game, we'll know about it.
>and they've got all the tests/footage/data.
Hm?
They might compare the game to the demos but they won't talk about the downgrade from trailers. I kind of doubt they'll compare the game to the demos though. Unless it's worse than them for some reason.
It's funny that the only game with actually functional GI is Quantum Break. They can do tricks and shit to make it run decently on consoles but then on PC people complain they can't run the game at 60 fps with GI, apparently because they don't know what GI is.
You people are making guesses out of your butt, wait for the game to release.
>It's funny that the only game with actually functional GI is Quantum Break.
Lots of games have GI. QB runs like shit for all kinds of reasons. Even when you turn GI down it runs bad.
pretty sure that crysis 3 had dynamic gi
a pretty basic one at it too.
I think the first game that tried it was stalker. Stalkers lighting system was way ahead, too bad that the rest of it was rather meh.
no idea what kind of gi implementation quantum break uses, obviously hq gi is very demanding
Don't think Crysis 3 had real time GI. And Stalker only used it when you toggled an option in the config files and it doesn't even work very well if at all. I've never gotten it to work.
There's plenty of games that claim to use it but it's either a very simplified version of it or not even GI and just an approximation using normal lighting methods. Or entirely baked in.
>Don't think Crysis 3 had real time GI.
Not him but it did. Ryse does too maybe other Creyek games.
>There's plenty of games that claim to use it but it's either a very simplified version of it or not even GI and just an approximation using normal lighting methods. Or entirely baked in.
It's still Gi. QB does do it a lot better though, it looks CG almost.
