The franchise has some good games under its belt, but you'd think there would be a lot more considering Transformers by its very nature is really easy to transition into vidya.
DEVASTATION 2 WHEN
Kinda odd that they ported Fall first and not War.
Did Devastation do well enough to warrant a sequel? And holy shit, I didn't even know Michael Bell was still alive.
Put this on PSN too pls.
This. I wanna fight Nova Prime.
Why does everyone call Devastation a "budget title"? The game looks fucking fantastic.
Shitposting, mostly.
You can easily emulate it.
Yeah, I'm not too fond of all this Platinum bashing lately just because of two "bad" games.
I DON'T WANNA FUCKING EMULATE I'M A BUYFAG YOU PIRATEFAGS STOP TRYING TO PUSH YOUR SHIT ON ME REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Buy it then emulate it you sperg.
Platinum shitposting. It's also easier to make the association stick because of it being a licensed title.
If I had to dock points for anything, it's a lack of variety in its environments and music, although some of that music is pretty good. Has some great matchups in the challenge mode as well, like fighting all of the other Autobots.
And then he pets the boy on the head, like he was a small puppy.
its because >hurr 4 hour story mode
even though hack and slash games are about replay ability
>implying the original devs make a dime when you buy a decade-old used copy off ebay
The game is absolutely amazing, even better than Korra and I loved that game as well.
Because I like stylish action games so much I'd rank Devastation as the best Transformers game. Fall and War for Cybertron have a bigger scale, polish and presentation but the gameplay is pretty standard in comparison.
Is transformers considered anime?
There are some official transformers anime out there but the series overall isn't anime
Has Platinum ever made a sequel before?
Only the ones actually made in Japan.
-sequel is made
-more difficult challenge modes
-final one is you, alone, vs:
Devastator
Menasor
Bruticus
Predaking
Abominus
Piranhacon
Monstructor
Tripredacus
all at the same time
Your reaction?
Bayonetta
>the series overall isn't anime
why not? just because it was mainly shown in the west?
>there are people right now who don't think Devastation had one of the best soundtracks in 2015

Just the chinese cartoon
What the fuck are you doing on Sup Forums Boco, go back to your corner
starting with season 5 G1 Transformers becomes an anime.
And there's also the unicron trilogy.
Speaking of transformers, any hopes for Bayformers 5's figurines based on these kind of designs?
No, because the concept was created by American men working at Marvel Comics, an American comic company.
>literally just a port
>no war for cybertron
>50 fucking dollars
WHAT THE FUCK
WFC>FOC in terms of multiplayer
It's vice-versa for campaign
Being animated by a Korean company doesn't make something an anime.
these are the actual anime Transformers series:
Robots in Disguise (2001)
Armada
Energon
Cybertron
Another thing to understand is that Japan has a very on-again/off-again relationship with Transformers, because they usually don't like shows where the giant robots are sentient and their own characters, they much prefer the robots to be mindless mechas piloted by people. And whenever they import one of our Transformers series they ALWAYS turn it into a super-kiddy comedy series, even shows like Beast Machines and Prime. You should check out the changes they make if only for morbid curiosity, character assassination doesn't even begin to cover it.
>>literally just a port
It's a port with all the DLC included. I agree about the price though. Highway robbery.
And Headmasters, Victory, Zone, Go!, and probably another one I can't remember.
im so sick of this nonsense man, I bet it even has framedrops out the ass
>tfw Japan didn't even get the third season of Prime
And I'll probably buy it, because I'm a cuck.
How would one do a Beast wars game?
>Robots in Disguise (2001)
Is that when Optimus gets merged with Ultra Magnus and they wield the Matrix sword together? My memory is fuzzy.
I really liked the new designs, except for bumblebee and hound
A fighting game
Oh yeah, them too, and their full fourth season for G1.
>they cut the Nemesis firing on the Autobot base, leaving it so that Optimus chops the camera and smashes to black
I almost pity them.
There were two. Did you mean a modern one?
I'd say have it be a mixture of War for Cybertron and Devastation. Make it intentionally look dated, like the show. Make it take place before season 2.
Not like the PS1 game.
>Tfw Devastation didn't have much DLC
Then again, that's what I like about Platinum's games; they don't have DLC out the wazzo.
Yeah. It's also the series where they're against the Predacons, Megatron can change into ten different modes, Sky-byte the poetic shark who loves human culture, Hot Rod is horny for a woman's red convertible, and their main computer is T-AI the daughter of Teletraan-1.
I want this again so badly.
Is the team that made it even still around? It's been so long they had to have split by now.
Went defunct in 2010.
Bumblebee looks the same except for the battle helmet looking like a wasp's face.
Man I gotta rewatch it ASAP.
I just wish more of their games would get sequels.
>Devastation ends with a sequel hook
>Vanquish ends on a cliffhanger
>Anarchy Reigns wasn't even an actual sequel
Was Devastation a flop? I remember it going on a sale pretty quickly after release which is kinda of strange for something from Activision.
It didn't flop, but it didn't excel. It did better than Korra, at least.
>Ever wonder what happens when a truck hits a delicate jet?
I love this game to death but I really don't think a remaster of it should be $50. It's been bumming me out.
I have both an Xbone and a PS4 and with this remaster now existing, it means I won't ever get to play my original copy on Backwards Compatibility
Shame Dark Spark was such a dumpster fire. They killed the potential for the franchise to come back to high moon's hands
>they usually don't like shows where the giant robots are sentient and their own characters
Complete fucking bullshit. Stop talking out your ass.
He's right, though. Look at the last time they had sentient Gundam robots.
We got Gundam SD.
Masterforce, and like 2 or 3 seasons of animated Beast Wars sequels.
The majority of their anime involving giant robots involves them being piloted/controlled by operators, not being sentient characters until themselves.
Wake me when they remaster the GOOD transformer games.
>He doesn't know about the Brave series
Why was Fall of Cybertron bad?
You forgot Kiss Players
There's no anime for Kiss Players and also we all want to forget about Kiss Players
It's less "they don't like sentient mecha" and more that there's a preconceived notion that sentient mecha is for a younger child audience than standard mecha.
I wonder if the Time Mechabuton will have a personality in Time Bokan 24. It doesn't have in the original series, compared to all other mechas in its franchise.
Ah Beast Wars 2...in all its racist glory...
>We're getting a new Time Bokan
its just high moon getting used to ps4 hardware. They did the same with deadpool. Expect a new high moon game next E3
Since we're discussing a lot of Transformers stuff, did you all hear about what Hasbro did to make all of the various universes of Transformers separate from each other with no more interacting, including multiversial entities like Primus, Unicron, and the Thirteen Primes?
Shut up Boco
FoC was watered down and boring compared to WfC
...
I disagree, I liked how each level centered on one character and allwed you to use a variety of skills, isntead of just picking one of three characters who are all pretty much the same and going through levels built so that all three can go through them without problems.
No co-op was a bummer, though.
Between the banter from Optimus Prime and getting my ass kicked by Megatron at the end, I think the game delivered as far as licensed games go.
There used to be this Transformer anime I used to watch. All I remember was that Megatron was firing his cannon and he couldn't control the recoil and he kept flying backwards into a cliff. Has anybody else seen it?
>it means I won't ever get to play my original copy on Backwards Compatibility
this is what annoys me the most
fucking jews
Sounds like Armada. Armada Megatron was homicidally insane.
That was a definite negative, agreed.
>playing shit like Devastation and War for Cybertron instead of the REAL TF game
Hasbro doesn't care too much about vidya.
Stop being a trolling faggot.
>that dialogue between Optimus and Megatron at the end
I love games where the level is the boss.
I played War For Cybertron but not Fall. Is Fall better?
I loved the multiplayer, sadly both games are dead on Steam
I loved the shit out of Fall. No fembots in multiplayer though.
The whole build your own robot customization in multiplayer was fun imo.
You scraplets aren't even talking about the new game in development.

>Tencent
because in reality, it actually didn't have that big of a budget. It's just that Platinum has always been known for working really well within the confines of a small budget.
It helps that G1 was very blocky in mech designs and that they stylized the hell out of the graphics to hide its flaws.
Beast Wars demo for Windows was the first time I ever got a virus on my dad's computer. I still don't know how it happened but it made me avoid the game at all costs.
What was that game for Ps2?
You could play as Optimus Prime, Hotshot, or Red Alert. The third level was a huge fucking aircraft carrier transformer, and you had to shoot him in the face. The second level boss fight was literally JUST tier for me, since Starscream was a fucking cock sucker and kept fucking my shit up all the time.
The plot had something to do with Mini-cons. I remember playing the fuck out of it.
Fall is phenomenal
go buy it now
The game you're thinking of was called Transformers. It was based on Armada, yet it was just known as Transformers for some unknown reason.
So, who wants to talk about the game that ended the trilogy?
>Devs gimping the Wii U version of a game for no reason again
Cool. Do you know if I can emulate it? I fuckin loved that shit when I was a kid.
Man that game was fucking stupid. I feel like they were strong armed into making it though because of the movies.
Also at the time Hasbro was trying to create one big single continuity out of all their Transformers series like Japan, which they have since abandoned because that idea is stupid.
>$50
I hope no one buys this
