i'm using a tv because my monitor broke

the only reason to use a tv is because you don't have a monitor available

I prefer to game on my huge ass 55 TV rather than on a tiny monitor.

I prefer monitor since generally I sit closer to a monitor so I can see better.

If you're playing pc, you're not using a 55 inch on your desk.

there's no point, size is relative to distance. if you sit closer, the screen take sup the same portion of your vision

As long as your 55 inch TV has an equally large resolution, and you have a GPU that can power it, I guess...

We have 40"+ Computer monitors now, the days of having to use tiny sub 30" displays on a computer are over.

I think this type of display is the future. Its big enough to be acceptable right up close using it from my desk, and its also big enough to still be a good experience from the couch that's right behind me for a more 'tv' style user experience.

24inch 1080p 60fps for mouse + keyboard games at my standing desk.
