Metroid thread?
Metroid 30th anniversary
Other urls found in this thread:
>>game is gud
Not with those tedious metroid fights.
>mfw the mini bosses were more fun to fight
how many games did you make?
yes metroid fights are shit but the game is not bad at all desu
If they really wanted to fuck this game up they would have stopped it before it even eeleased.
>le you never made a game so you can't say anything bad meme
Holy shit kys please.
Saria is the only option and fuck society.
Not a Metroid thread.
Malon for life or get out.
Now make one for Metroid.
I wish that I had gotten 89.
>how many games did you make?
I like AMR2 but don't be that guy.
Rolling for Malon or Midna.
>T_T
>
I liked the Metroid fights.
The franchise, as a whole, is prominently about exploring and finding secrets and items. Why not make that into part of the main quest? Not only are you trying to find missile and energy tanks, but now you're hunting Metroids as well.
I'm surprised more games in the series didn't adapt its way of doing things.
Well then
In all seriousness, who gives a rat's ass if Nintendo shut it down? The game is out, and I've been spending my time playing it, rather than whining about politics.
>I liked the Metroid fights.
>bullet sponge enemies
>small hit boxes
I've never played a Metroid game before, what game is it comparable to?
>Castlevania
>Mega Man
I've played them
:(
>first omega fight on hard
>save point is far back
who the fuck thought this was ok
The only ones I found to be annoying were the omega metroids, which, you know, are supposed to be hard.
Just jump under the others and spam missiles. They're not gonna damage you hard enough even if you get hit.
Rolling for harambe
I was literally down to eight health and like, 15 missiles during my first fight.
Tense as fuck.
Similar to later Castlevanias, like Symphony of the Night.
Surprisingly I won that fight, first encounter. But the first few times I fought a Zeta, I got my shit kicked in. I guess Zeta was good practice before Omegas.
>T_T
>
Blame dark souls :^)
...So are you supposed to bitch out and hide in those little spots off to the side when fighting omegas? I can't consistently jump over them to dodge, and they can rape you if you're not careful.
>mfw a fan made game outclasses everything nintendo has mad in a decade
>mfw im not just saying it, its actually true
It's not even fair to call them"later Castlevanias" anymore.
It's been 20 years since a new Classicvania. It's been like 7 since even a Metroidvania.
made**
Yeah I suppose you're right. Everything nowadays is a God of War clone.
But God of War is a Last of Us clone now.
I didn't mind them since they change the environments most of the time. It's like seeing how many different ways you can fight the same enemy. They were annoying at first, but became more challenging and enjoyable.
And what is the Last of Us?
A Cinematic Experience™.
I literally ran up to them and aimed up at their belly ans shot super missiles. After they were depleted I went with normal missiles and they died in 1-2 minutes. This was on normal though and I had more than 6 energy tanks.
Does anyone know how to get into the center pneumatic pipe in the power distribution plant?
Is the the one that's originally closed?
It goes down, even though there are no other zones below you, so I have no idea where it leads.
Maybe it unlocks if you go to the other zones and do all the electric ball puzzles???
:3
game was fun, will play again and maybe do better someday
now onto play super metroid for the first time
If you consider them bullet sponge enemies, that just means that you didn't learn their patterns well enough to be able to reliably land super missiles and dispatch them quickly.
It will take some getting used to, the physics are different. Samus is lighter and a bit slower. Damn good game though
I get sad seeing that little metroid, every time.
Yeah, it's that one. I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
Just ignore it. Maybe there's some super secret about it that players have yet to discover but what's for sure is that it has nothing to do with getting 100% items in the game.
Zero Mission, AM2R and SM is officially the Metroid trilogy
Primebabbies need not apply
How do you get this energy tank?
Are you serious? Try shooting everything.
bbbbbut what about prime (1 & 2)
There's like three orbs you have to hit near the left.
Im sure it couldn't be too hard
>playing through Zero Mission, AM2R, and now seeing this as I'm starting Super
It's like I'm watching chapter 3 of the story
How does Hard work in this, double enemy health and half yours? Also the Omega metroids are the only real downside in the game IMO, so tedious to fight compared with previous forms.
Not to mention Nintendo didn't shut down shit.
They killed the download links sure, but then the AM2R dev gave Nintendo the finger, moved it onto a torrent, and promised more releases with bug fixes and more content.
Super is a step back after playing Zero Mission and AM2R.
I hope Nintendo realizes that we don't want their 2D Samus anymore. Nobody wants to pay $60 for a game that's worth $10 max no matter the length.
Unless they're being wasteful and remaking it graphically in line with MN9, it shouldn't be an expensive game to make but they'll charge it as such anyway.
well yeah of course, it doesn't have the aim lock and obviously it's older technology. that doesn't really bother me, unless the game doesn't hold up and really is just overrated...
Its pretty good. Only metroid game I learned how to speedrun in. Fun as hell breaking sequence. Just learn how to kill Kraid before he destroys the room.
Super is overrated as hell. Still a decent game tho.
I'm a bit stuck.
I've been playing off and on because of work so it's kind of hard to remember everything. Need this last metroid in the area. I have the hi jump, screw jump, wave beam and such, I'm just unsure of where to go.
Or how to get that energy tank in the room after the three wall Chozo turrets as you come in.
go underneath that savepoint that has a path you havent searched yet
Use bombs to destroy the pump in the bottom of the water
oh to to answer the other question, bomb that wall that connects to that item. Remember when in doubt, bomb everything
Can anybody help to find the last Metroid of this area?
Beat the game a few hours today. Got 93% item completion, gonna need to go back in later and get the missed items.
Which savepoint? The one connecting the green and blue rooms at ground level?
yes
check the red area again
>celebrate your franchise's 30th by shutting down a fangame
Even Streets of Rage fans didn't get as shit on
Right there.
I've tried to bomb everything and nothing works. What am I missing?
Go down the water basin dude
I am retarded and do not understand what you mean.
try going the other side where the room with the upgrade ya dummy
Wait, nevermind. Thought you were that other guy still looking for one more metroid.
Go back to the place where you got the hi-jump boots, you'll get those items through that room
Nevermind I'm good.
Posting this here before anyone ask about the Shinespark Puzzles :
any one know where the last metroid in this area is?
I mean I get why they turned off SA but but you cancel SA in the air by just shooting
but you can*
La Mulana an Rabi-Ribi from what I heard.
Axiom Verge
Salt & Sanctuary, even if it feels kinda like a 2D Dark Souls.
That's basicly what i did at the start of the video if you look closely during the first Power Bomb (I aimed down instead of shooting but the idea is there)
Turning of the Screw Attack is just more "noob" friendly and allow you to take your time to prevent fucking up.
Post if you got em.
Hard mode, blind playthrough
Turning off screw attack was just to show idiots how to do it.
I never turn off screw attack for that. I just mid air side dash at that point.
On the outer part of the tower, on its right side, there's a small opening you can enter. It hasn't shown up on your map but it's there. It's close to upper the save point.
The 2x3 empty square at the top, the entrace is at the right side.
Normal mode, didn't really play more after finishing it but I know where I missed at least 3 items.
Please type like an adult first.
Well when it's been in development for 10 years, it better fucking be
Yeah yeah shit time, played on KB and wasted too much time doing map completion early game with bomb jumps and spiderball
how do i get this tank?
never mind
So many people can't even get sub 3 hours.
I REALLY took my time with this one. I always do with metroidvanias.
here, didn't tried to. Could have if I didn't wasted time searching for items with the spiderball and if I hadn't missed the space jump like a moron.
Didn't want to ask for help but I've wasted way too much time, I can't seem to progress anymore, I can't find anywhere else to go or anything else to do.
How do you open white doors by the way? I first thought it was one of those doors where you kill all the enemies in the area but no.
Explore the leftmost side of the area, you can hi-jump past the spikes
cut me some slack user, 1st playthru and just wanted to enjoy the ride. Plan to do a sub 2hr run later for best end
now in webm form
i missed the wave beam where did you get it?
Just to not look like a shitposter, here's my best time (with 100%) so far.
Hydro station.
It's in the hydro station
Hydro Station
heres a 100% map for you
fuck
I thought I found everything there. that's where the ice beam was too so i assumed that I wouldnt find the wave beam there too
Ice beam is a late game upgrade, it's not in the hydro station
