>You now remember Dean Hall left the project 2 years ago saying it would be in beta when he left.
He pretty much saw that the shitty engine couldn't be fixed, went early access, cashed out and abandoned ship.
Pretty obvious now. Fuck that kiwi faggot.
Elijah Cooper
i have seen military invasions of russia that have gone better than the development of this game

I know next to nothing about this game. What is wrong with it?
David Hernandez
It barely runs. They don't even have zombies in their zombie game despite them being promised 2 years ago.
The game is based off of a mod of Arma II that went viral several years ago. The mod creator got hired by Bohemia to make Day-Z into a full time game.
They worked on it for about a year before it went early access. The Day-Z engine barely ran. It doesn't have zombies. and it burns out graphics cards to render grass.
About 9 months after early access the creator left the project saying it would be in Beta by the time he left.
Which was 2 years ago. The game has only added different colored rain coats. You cant even swing a bat and hit somebody because collision doesn't work.
Nathaniel Flores
It's actually pretty damn good right now.
Just wish people camped less. So many people with duped gear camping houses waiting for that one guy to start drinking at the water pump...
Noah Allen
Well the FPS is very good right now. I for one don't drop under 60 in cities, and can get up to 150 outside them. My PC isn't even that good.
Also yeah, the lag is a problem. You get shot at, run around a corner, think you're safe, and then die 5 seconds later because that's how long it takes for hits to register.
Logan Bailey
Explan, I havn't logged in in a long time because I was so pissed off the last time I treid it out.
I had great times in the MOD so I want the game to succeed.
Joseph Cruz
They should have never promised zombies. They should have called the game Crossed and be done with it.
Chase Perez
there's a lot of bullshit in this post but it does give an exaggerated sense of the state of the game
there are zombies, they're just globally spawned now instead of based on player distance because they were being used as a "this town does/doesn't have players in it" indicator. there's actually more zombies per server now but they're spread out on a retardedly oversized map. they're going to be changing this to keep global zombies but still spawn more in based on the amount of players around.
the game runs like shit but improved a bit with the new renderer in .60. they have a new character controller on the way that will hopefully make animations and movement more responsive. they're also merging in the new sound system from arma 3. it's being actively developed but they're slow and i don't see them completing it for another few years.
Bentley Collins
The graphics and the framerate are very good now, since they added a new renderer. Lots of places to go, lots to do. No other game really feels the same desu. DayZ just does survival the best. No other game has combat that's as tense also I should point out. Even if you have a huge advantage over a guy you're still sweating, and that's what I love. No other game gives me that adrenaline rush that DayZ does. It just feels so damn good to kill someone.
Also the craziest most fucked up shit sometimes happens. You're given so much freedom to do whatever you want. I for one have enjoyed befriending random people, just to then handcuff them and see how they react once I start stabbing them with a knife.
Connor Peterson
My favorite about this game is >Game is in alpha >Instead of using resources to get it out of alpha they port it to the latest generation of consoles, in alpha
James Gonzalez
My favorite part is where there are mods of DayZ for Arma II that have more features than actual DayZ mod. And the DayZ mod has more features than standalone. Which people fucking paid for.
Jacob Mitchell
Wasn't this supposed to be ported to the ps4?
Dean Went up on stage and lied to us

I enjoyed the 100 or so hours I spent with the standalone. The only thing that got me butthurt was: >buy it on early access launch! This will be the cheapest it'll be until well after full release! >one year later sudden 50% off sale >still EA >people freak out >Dean essentially says "yeah we shouldn't have but we did anyway lmao"
Grayson Hall
How old are you?
Jose Turner
Just play Arma 3 battle royale
Angel Peterson
You guys think Dean Hall will actually make that SS13 clone he was working on?
Jayden Watson
>Pretty obvious now
It was obvious back then too.
Joseph Wood
That's what you get for buying a game during early access.
Parker Bell
It's pretty bad how the original mod is still better than the paid game. Why? The mod has vehicles and zombies, while the paid game doesn't.
Anyway wish I could get my 29.99 back already.
Lincoln Martinez
>I enjoyed the 100 or so hours I spent with the standalone.
what did you even fucking do???
Brody Rogers
>Balota deathmatch >mugging people in cities >hunting game up north and trying to trade the cooked meat for more buck >stalking tacticool clans >axing electro ridge snipers a question >handing out packed lunches to freshspawns >comfy wilderness hiking >reigning terror on military base looters for (you)s >living on top of the commie blocks north of Cherno taking potshots until people risked the dreaded 5+ storey ladder to get to me I didn't play the mod, which in retrospect I regret because it seems much more advanced. I'm considering pick up Rust or Ark to try to get more of the multiplayer shitposting experience only offered by persistent loot-gathering games.
