Kotaku also got another secondhand source to confirm it, but as it isn't strong they are not reporting it.
I only trust Siliconera anyway for rumours and leaks, they are the only ones that have solid sources for Square Enix.

Yeah, Square Enix does a lot of mistakes in the past but spending millions of money for a release date event to just delay it further is a new level of incompetence from them. They have the internal milestone before they can announce release date solely to prevent this from happening.
