>came out like a few months ago
>absolutely nobody talking about it
WHAT WENT WRONG BROS
Came out like a few months ago
It was shit, everyone went back to playing bloodborne
I couldn't get hyped after DS2. I keep forgetting it's even out.
everything
Nobodies talking about it because Solaire is still the most famous thing about dark souls, and the only thing you can get is his set, he doesn't appear.
Everyone's beaten it.
Once the DLC is announces threads will pick up.
all same shit
>busted pvp
>fucking poise
>terrible online community
>invasions are ruined
>objectively the shortest game in the series
>weak storyline and lore
>weak bosses
>most of the music sucks
>only gets a pass because "well it has to be better than DaS2 :^)"
Not a huge mystery. Doesn't help that It's essentially fanfiction. And a garbage fanfiction at that.
>sets, characters and entire locations returning for no actual reason
>at least 3 sequel hooks that are going to be $20 DLC each
>no conclusion even though it's supposed to be the final game in the series]
i want to believe that everyone is too busy playing it but Sup Forums probably dropped it
its a fine singleplayer game and a shitty multiplayer game. and singeplayer games die fast.
this more or less
game is fine, but its novelty has worn off
I don't know but something is missing. I played more than 1000 hours of DaS 1 / DeS and Bloodborne. But after beating DaS 3 the first time, I never touched it again. I can't even say why.
It's not that good.
It's kinda boring if you've played the others.
It has more in common with Demon's Souls than Dark Souls, but this time the NPCs are more uninteresting and the story still goes nowhere.
DaS2 had its own closure. DaS1 and DaS3 are the exact same story again.
The formula got stale.
>DaS2 had its own closure.
Are you actually joking
The whole point of Dark Souls II's story was the opposite of that.
>Dark Souls II's story
Its fucking boring
>DaS2 had its own closure
except it never explained why you sat on the damn throne at the end or breaks your curse
This. The game is a fuckin boredom after you have done everything. At least the PvP in Scholar was fun.
Have there been any performance patches since the game came out?
I had stable 60FPS at the start and it would tank to 20-30 in certain spots
Honestly only Dark Souls 1 and 2 were talked about months after release with constant threads. 1 because of the PC petition, first timers who missed Demon Souls, and eventual PC port reveal.
2 because of downgrade, shitposting, and how quickly the DLC was announced and released.
BB discussion fizzled after a couple months until November and then it fizzled into nothing again. 3 looks like it's going the same route. People are just tired of souls games. If it's your first game, you love it, if it's your fith game, you don't really care or remember much and followed the same motions you've been doing for the past seven years to success.
When the DLC comes out, we're all going to start playing again.
But you knew that, so what the fuck are you making this thread for
Stop using that 200 $ laptop and you will be fine.
>2 because of downgrade, shitposting, and how quickly the DLC was announced and released.
and how bad it was compared to 1
I see threads about Bloodborne every day.
>busted mechanics
>busted matchmaking
>still no dedicated servers
>little build variety
>next to no replayability
It's better than 2 I guess, but that's not saying much.
If they don't fix Poise by the time the DLC drops, I'm done.
DaS>BB>DeS>3>2's DLC>shit>Vanilla 2
BB discussion never died
sure it lessened, but not like DS3
how can a man have this little self respect?
People got burnt out on Souls games.
It's a good game, step up from DS2, but each game in the series has less and less charm.
DS1 is the only game people really care about.
It's just boring. It does nothing new, in gameplay or story/lore. More medieval castles and forests with nonsensical linking the fire story for the 3rd time
I actually just recently bought it
Am I ruining the experience for myself if I play through it mostly in coop? Are there any secrets/areas that are better discovered on your own?
I'm not bad at the game or anything as I've beaten every other game in the series on solo (except for 2, which I haven't played at all), it's just that this is the first time I have a friend who I can play with
I only see BB discussed if the whole series is discussed as well.
>I didn't really finish Scholar
fucking game stutters everytime that little flame save icon pops up no matter how high fps you can maintain. i got fucking sick of trying everything to fix that annoying as fuck shit. no clue if they finally fixed it but im over this game now anyway. another shit pc version FROM shits out what do ya know
Nothing wrong with coop.
you clearly miss the daily BB threads then
There's two secret areas in the game and aren't really that interesting. They're optional and don't change the game story or outcome in any way.
It's the Demon Ruins and the Dragon Shrine.
>>I didn't really finish Scholar
I never bought Scholar because DaS2 was that bad and I was not falling for the "THEY FIXED IT" meme
>It's a good game, step up from DS2
see, I don't agree with this
for me it was more of the same, and that's what made me quit at one random moment and never looked back on it
also 3 was noticeably more tedious than any Souls game I had played thus far
> I was not falling for the "THEY FIXED IT" meme
Good, I fell for the meme and it fixed nothing . The DLCs were almost as bad as the base game too, they're all filled with swarms of the same generic knight enemy and the environments were straight out of a ps2 game
It followed the standard Dark Souls formula way too much that there's nothing to talk about since it's pretty much the same as the last 2 games with a few extras.
>WHAT WENT WRONG BROS
It isn't a PS4 exclusive
nothing, we just got gud, old, and sadder
even the dog knows this isn't right
>mfw the most discussed Souls game here right now is DS2
ds2 scholar version is the best game in the series besides maybe demons souls so why is that shocking?
>>mfw the most discussed Souls game here right now is DS2
only because of how bad it was and how desperate DS2 fanboys are trying to force the "3 is bad" and "Scholar fixed everything" memes
Hopefully the dlc will save it like it did for almost every other game in the series.
Get the fuck out of here
see
>Get the fuck out of here
Why? If the story was that important they would not shove plot critical things into DLC. A move like that feels like that they rushed to get DaS2 out to continue the hype trail from DaS
did they ever fix the thing where invaders could hit you and change your stats and possibly get you banned or whatever? lol
Almost nobody talks about unupdated single-player games months after release. Nothing went wrong
This. I really enjoyed the game too but I've just never been compelled to go back and play it again like in previous games. I've even finished Dark Souls 2 about 8 times and I'd say 3 is much better.
DS1
>EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT
>Wrong - Everything after Lordvessel is shit
>Only Lost Izalith was shit
>THE LEGEND NEVER DIES
>Someone posts OnlyAfro crossdressing
>Muh shitboxes and backstabbing and awful netcode
>Muh atmosphere
>OandS IS THE BEST THING EVER
DS2/Scholar
>This is actually best game
>No, fuck off its actually the fucking worst
>Muh Soul Memory
>100.000.000 WEAPONS AND POWER STANCE
>FASHION SOULS
>THE MOST BOSSES OF ALL GAMES
>Most bosses are shit or mediocre
>How many times did you die against Fume Knight?
>BEST PVP EVER
DS3
>Is anyone else still playing it?
>WHAT WENT WRONG?
>BEST BOSSES OF ALL GAMES
>Everything is the same
>Invasions are awful
>Muh Ganksquads
>Souls is casual now because i played every Souls game for hundreds of hours and so barely had trouble here
>Muh Dark Sword
>Muh lack of poise
>Miyazaki was a mistake
No poise. Started playing 1 again
>scholar worse than vanilla
now I know this is trolling
We completed it OP and are now playing other games. It was good, now move on.
Yu're literally talking about it right now you humongous faggotron
Nothing, we're waiting on the dlc, because we've already burnt out all possible discussion within the first week
Look at the image you idiot, that's not scholar
>.000.000 WEAPONS AND POWER STANCE
Don't know if this is a good or bad argument but Dark Souls 2 had by far the most viable weapons which resulted in the best pvp experience.
Waiting on the DLC, like any other sensible user out there. It's good, but doesn't have the replayability of Dark Souls 2
>sunken king
then thats even worse, sunken king was arguably the best DLC, with the best level design, right atmosphere, and a great payoff in Sinh.
Rushed development cycle to meet financial deadlines resulted in an unfinished and linear game that will supposedly be fixed by DLC (for extra $$$).
DS3 is too easy and short, nothing to do after completing 100% because the pvp is not very good.
I think DS1 and DS2 are great, DS3 was made because people wanted more souls game, From didn't try to make make a great game because they didn't need to.
if Sunken was the best DLC I would hate to see the worst
I see more Bloodborne threads than DS3 threads.
>demons souls rated this highly
doesnt suprise me.
same people who speedrun nintendo 64 games because they are old and the best thing that ever happend to gaming.
Demon Souls is easily the worst title of the series.
>Am I ruining the experience for myself if I play through it mostly in coop?
I mean, yes? It turns almost every boss battle into a breeze. And if you're not playing it for challenge of the boss fights, I honestly have no fucking clue why you're playing at all.
Demon ruins? I mean, it's not out in the open, but I'd hardly call it a secret area over the Untended Graves.
I'm waiting to get it until they do their Dark Souls 3 Prepare to Scholar of the Old Hunters edition.
Don't play ivory king.
>It's a "Das2 fags keep trying to convince Sup Forums that their game isn't shit" thread
>rushed development cycle
>simply took Dark Souls 1 and slapped some new areas and bosses on top
the customers got what they asked for.
It's primarily a single player game, user.
Most people aren't autists who keeps replaying a single game forever, we move the fuck on.
Nearly 3000 people are playing DS1 right now with like 80% of them being perma Hollow
2000 people are playing DS2 and near 7000 are playing DS3
The hype is down.
DaS is thought to be the best because for most people it was completely new. It did have the best DLC so far. Lost izalith was shit tho, everything else after the vessel was good
DaS2 had the best PvP, too bad about the Soul Memory, the base game was lacking af but the LDC was good.
DaS3 is good, even though they fucked up mechanics like poise. IT was too easy to just steamroll through everything.
Hopefully the DLC fixes some of this shit and expands the game a lot
I'll still say in terms of raw enjoyment DaS2 was the best. The game has a lot of faults but there's more than enough to alleviate it, and that's before the DLCs, which by that point perfectly balance out the pros and cons. Whereas DaS3 is just going to wallow in it's problems and put out a bunch of patches that SHOULD'VE BEEN CONSIDERED LONG BEFORE THE GAME WAS EVEN RELEASED.
This.
The thing is for all the hate Bloodborne gets it was actually an original experience while Dark Souls III is kind of a rehash.
Being both rich and white enough to be able to experience all the Souls games I can say what drags DaS3 down is the familiarity. You have the Fire Keeper being a pale imitation of the Maiden in Black, which is nice until you realize despite having less lines the Maiden is far more memorable due to her voice and the comfiness of the Nexus. Maybe the DLC will blow our minds but for now i'm going to say Bloodborne is the Magnum Opus of Souls games, or Soulsborne as the venerable Vaati would say.
>It's a "Das3 fags still want to pretend their game is anything but absolute trash"
>You will never be a rich white person
WHY AM I STILL HERE
It is the best one in the trilogy, but we are simply tired of it.
Trash>Shit
But user, Scholar is the best.
I loved 1 and 2, and after 3 i went back to replay the 2nd.
It's great. It has more things to do and feels more fantasy than 3rd, where everything is grey and dull.
Shit combat (except the bossfights)
Shit artstaly, leveldesign (lmao gravestones everywhere, we christian now, look at all this same)
Shitty general mobs
combat consists of spaming
boring to explore, or better, nothing to explore after like 40 h without a guide (finished in 18 in the first playthorugh, wtf is this lenghts?)
screwed mechanics (poise?? build variety?? youll never need more than a fucking straightsword wtf?)
the only thing, that this game DID ringht were the visuals the second only thing are the bossfights the third are some armors and SOME levels but shit is it not enough to jew 60 € out of me if I can be playing a b2p mmo for less than 15 € right now with 10k hours of content with the same gemplay as souls or better (our enemies rotate now 360 lmao).
fuck from software, I want bloodborne on the pc and never touch anything from again.
I played them all and yes, DaS3 is the weakest so far.
It drags so so much in its linearity and sameness in everything. There's no cool findings on the areas, no interesting landmarks, barebones lore in the already cryptic Souls universe.
DaS3 as other user said, is like "You want to replay a game but remember THAT PART and stop"; Well, Dark Souls 3 is THAT PART all the way.
Played through it once and wanted to kill myself. It could have been worst game of the year but then nu male's sky came out.
I had a lot of fun when I played it (which was 30-ish hours), but felt absolutely no desire to go back to it afterwards.
I'm not sure if it genuinely lacked something that made previous games replayable or if I simply got hit by Souls fatigue.
>Want to replay DaS3
>Remember THAT PART
>And by THAT PART I mean
>Farron's Keep
>Cathedral of the Deep
>Carthus Catacombs
>Demon Ruins
>Boreal Valley
>Lots of the Lothric Castle rooms
Well, what the fuck did I liked then?
played ds skipped till it looked cool.
We can all agree that BB>DaS>DeS>DaS2>DaS3 right?
I still enjoyed 2, unlike 3
No.
It lacks the polished mechanics of the games that came after it, but it's not the worst, far from it.
Yes user anyone sensible can agree. DeS remaster when???
It was short as fuck. I feel like we were missing two areas.
Everytime I go through Carthus I really wish you could play a skeleton.
DaS>DaS2>>>>>DaS3 (o) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>console exlusivity
XD
You didn't like Cathedral of the Deep? What is wrong with you?
It had the most staying power. Add DaS1 and 3 together and 2 alone will still have more build variety.
