overclock to 50.52ghz and get a new gpu
Mine still feels fine. It's a good one.
I need to buy an i7 2700K to give a good home to a leftover GTX 960.
what is the 2500k of 2016 anyway?
>2500k + 770
My brother.
I'm personally probably going to wait until my components break or become ancient tier and then buy a new computer.
Those components are still perfectly fine if you're okay with not running things on ultra.
i'm using the same cpu but a gtx 780. still going strong on max settings for pretty much any game i throw at it other than glorified tech demos
No. With that GPU you can't run anything demanding anyways.
Yes he can you dumb fuck who upgrades every 2 years.
No you dont. It'll last you another few years.
not OP, but am i still in the clear or should i start considering something else?
I'm on a pentium lads
Yes, you should have upgraded about 5 years ago.
It is. I've been a proud owner of a 2500k for 5 years now and I bought into the "CPUS DONT BOTTLENECK 1080" meme.
Overclocked to 4.2GhZ with my EVGA GTX 1080 and I'm getting barely 50FPS with full settings in GTA V.
oh ok
whats the thing all the cool kids get these days?
I have an i7 2600k and I'm thinking to upgrade
I don't know. I picked up an i7 4790k last year during its golden age (it's got crazy overclock potential, I've been at 4.8 Ghz with air cooling).
Kids seem to pick up the 6700k nowadays, but I don't know if it's any better or the price differences.
Some latest gen i5 is probably whats good. I personally rock an i7 4790K and it's probably gonna last me a while.
Wanna build my first PC.
I have a Microcenter nearby.
I want to make something that's cost effective but still runs new games decently.
Wanna stick to $600~
Parts I'm leaning towards
>Intel Core i5-6500 6M Skylake Quad-Core 3.2 GHz(hear more than this is overkill)
>RX470 or RX480(but where can I find them in stock?)
I have no idea how to choose:
>power supply
>motherboard
>case
Will wait on good sales for
>harddrive/ssd
>ram
Pls help on how to choose power supply and mobo.
I have i3 2??? but I'm too afraid to upgrade since I would have to update the motherboard and most likely PSU as well.
i feel like ill never need to upgrade from my i7 2600k
6600K
