the only pairings that makes sense in this game that doesn't involve yu are chie/yosuke and chie/yukiko

Multiple background NPCs (and Yukiko) remark that Kanji and Rise always hang out together off-screen and have great chemistry together.

They're also always together in the "stock" shots of the IT hanging out and doing nothing in particular

it's cool how persona 4 is so dedicated to being a self insert wankfest that the party members only interact offscreen or in those random and optional dungeon conversations

totally enhances them as characters and doesn't make the entire game feel like you're the leader of some kind of weird religious cult where everyone only exists to please you, nope

This is the thing I hated most about P4 and it make the characters feel like cardboard cutouts you brought with for the ride.
The S-links were boring and felt like they didn't matter at all and they never talked about anything that happened around them.
I know they in P3 your weren't able to S-link some people till the story progress so far, but it made them feel a little more real you know.

like I give a fuck about how characters are shown in porn, in-game literally all they do is bully each other

p3 didn't have as many/easy party member slinks because they actually get scenes in the story

even simple things like yukari and junpei hanging out sometimes on sundays simply does not happen in persona 4, your party members are always waiting around completely separate from eachother waiting for narukami to talk to them

Currently playing 3 and one thing I really like compared to 4 is that it's better at conveying that your party members have lives of their own.

One of my favorite things is just coming back to the dorm and see everyone doing shit.

Neither of those make sense. There's nothing to indicate Chie or Yukiko are lesbians, so that's out. Chie and Yosuke might make sense if it were a Western game, seeing as the relationship they have tends to have romantic undertones beneath it, but the Japanese analogue to that is just a relationship with a tsundere girl, which Chie is not. They just piss each other off, they were friends, but they found each other grating, that's all there was to it.

None of the characters in P4 work together romantically because the girls were designed to be waifus for the player and the guys were made to not be able to take the players waifus. The only character that any of the girl could ever enter into a romantic relationship with is Yu, and none of them will ever officially do that because it would piss off other waifufags.

I'm basing those on the fact that chie is literally the only character that gets any amount of screen time interacting with the other party members beyond just reacting to something they said

every other character only meaningfully interacts with yu onscreen with the single exception of cheesecake scenes like the hot springs

Reminded me of college, probably the reason why it's one of my favorite games. persona 4 feels a lot more home-like. The rural area really contrast with persona 3's urban setting.
