I put in about 3 hrs. I feel like I've done everything there is to do.

You know why you made this thread.

I've put in roughly 5 hours..

There is literally nothing else new to discover or do except keep doing what you've been doing forever..

The game ends within 3-5 hours.

of the game or of my steam profile?

I got to my third planet before feeling completely bored with it.

Just pirate the GOG version if you're still not sure.

sure

It's a 3gb download, why don't you form your own opinion?

It's a complete fucking disaster.
Pretty much no incentive to explore the planets available - and even if you are really into game exploration. there'll nearly all fucking identical aside from subtle changes in colour and wildlife

It depends. What kind of game do you think it is or fo you think it would need to be for you to enjoy it?

Because its a waste of money and honestly a waste of time. 6 hours of my life I cant ever get back for such a shitty excuse for "a game".

game looks like shit and there's nothing to do
I've played early access games with more depth

No one here has actually palyed the game and knows what they are talking about.
2 hours? That's nothing. Have you even begun to scratch the surface of the different alien races? The Atlas? Have you gotten to the center of the universe? Have you found the cutest/toughest/uglier creature ever? Have you found a planet which is just like Earth?

Don't listen to the people telling you it's jsut a 3 hours grindfest. There is a lot to do in the game and it's all chill and lax with a sometimes hypnotic music and beautiful landscapes.

If you enjoy the idea of exploring a whole universe by yourselve while grinding some resources here and there to continue your independent journey then buy it.

what is at the center of the universe?

Space Engine is a better game for all of those things you described.

After you get your warp drive, you beat the game. All you do is go to a planet that has a slightly different shade than the last one. So many assets are the same across different planets.

As someone who was excited about the game but not overly hyped, I have to agree with the general sentiment that once you've been to a couple planets, you've seen and done everything. There simply isn't any depth and the randomization pool is WAY to fucking shallow to support the scale and premise. I kept my expectations well in check and I'm still kind of bored already. This game will be an unrepentant hit with truly autistic and OCD people though. Completions will probably have a severe love/hate relationship with it since each planet is massive and it rewards you for discovering everything on each one (I spent at least 4 hours just on the starting planet and only discovered 70% of it). It's just such a shame there isn't more to this. It feels like it was right on the cusp of being great which makes it all the more disappointing. Without any real enemies besides sentinels which are just a nuisance and only attack if you provoke them, the game feels like it's missing a final piece holding it together so it feels aimless in a bad way rather than the true freedom it intends to give.

literally a portal that sends you to the beginning of another linear universe

You can't do anything except resource grinding though, thats the entire game. MMOs are less shallow than this.

i pirated it on GoG
the game is fine as is, its minecraft in space
the first time you leave the planet and go into space is an amazing experience
but it will get repetitive almost instantly
and its a fucking crapshoot if it runs well on your pc

That's right goy, play it past 2 hours.

It takes about 3-4 hours to experience everything the game has to offer. Honestly, if you really want it just wait for a sale. Better to waste 20 bucks than full retail price.

>Have you found a planet which is just like Earth?

That's impossible, Earth has more than one biome
