So after that AM2R fan game and the newer super mario bros ds fan game. I was wondering, What are some of your favorite romhacks/mods/fangames?
Any good ones you might know of or recommend? Are you working on one? I'd like to try some out.
I remember hearing someone was making a paper mario game that was more like thousand year door and would love to see that.
So after that AM2R fan game and the newer super mario bros ds fan game. I was wondering...
user everyone's too busy being an asshole elsewhere to post here
Give the zero hacks a shot for megaman X and X3 which let you play as zero through the whole game and in X3's case permanently switch between X and Zero without penalties if Zero dies. Zero can use armors in both hacks
Super mario X, it was made by the same guy who made terraria, its pretty cool and has everything from all 2d Mario games.
What? I don't understand what you just said. I read that 3 times.
You can't possibly be this dense or illiterate
>Megaman X3 zero hack
The vanilla game lets you switch to zero, but if zero dies or you enter a boss room as him you instantly swap out to X. The hack removes that restriction, letting you play the whole game as him and even fight bosses and collect armor pieces which are also shared with X like in Megaman Xtreme 2
>Megaman X zero hack
Just a sprite swap to play as zero. Still cool
FFVI Brave New World is, unlike its source material, actually a good JRPG.
Is zero a character? I'm unfamiliar with megaman
>You can't possibly be this dense or illiterate
Says the person who can't fucking write properly. Your first post reads like you put it through google translate fag.
Mother 4 will be cool when it comes out, which it won't
Well, since everything is an original asset for that fangame if they just change the name and a few names then it's no longer related to earthbound. Which it already isn't since nintendo doesn't own "mother" in the west.
>unlike its source material
Kill yourself promptly
Super Mario 64 Star Road
Super Metroid Redesign
Legend of Zelda Parallel Worlds
Ocarina of Time 3rd Quest
Mario 64 Star Road is an obvious great.
youtube.com
Closest thing to a Banjo Threeie that currently exists.
Link to OoT 3rd Quest, it's still in its demo phase though.
Sonic Megamix is amazing.
>FFVI Brave New World is, unlike its source material, actually a good JRPG.
Yeah, no. They rebalance may be interesting but the new script is unbearable. It's just embarrassing. And filled to the brim with memes and pop culture references. And they were so damn proud of it they actually documented each and every one.
AM2R and Mega Man 4 Minus Infinity are the only two I've played that I felt were on par with or better than many of the official titles.
>Mega Man 4 Minus Infinity
That romhack is fucking gold.
Puresabe sure knows his shit, it feels like a whole different game.
The Silent Cartographer Evolved has better gameplay than most Halo games. Try that if you like Halo.
it even has two player and alot of power ups from nsmb. and wow i didn't knew the same guy made terraria.
and OP you should try going to a website called smwcentral.net
it has a lot of amazing rom hacks and also be sure to check /vr/ romhacking general and romhacking.com
Is AM2R really a remake of Metroid 2? Because metroid 2 was tedious as fuck with horrible level design. Is just essentially a reskin or did they redesign the the actual levels and just keep the concept (kill all metroids)?
Are any of Pokemon hacks remotely good? I'm not interested in new mon designs or story, I just want a Pokemon game with competent level design and an appropriate difficulty curve. Every time I restart a mainline game I get bored halfway through because I'm overpowered by then and then it's just tedious until the Elite 4.
No. Fuck FFVI, it's the main reason FF hasn't had a great game outside of the MMOs and spinoffs for over 20 years.
Project M, Sonic After the Sequel, and Pokemon Omicron are the 3 that all come to mind whenever fan games or mods are mentioned
I really enjoyed Pokemon Uranium, it was my first Pokemon rom hack. Is there a Pokemon rom hack that's generally considered the best?
It's so much better that it's unbelievable. Just try it out it's free for fuck's sake.
I was just looking it up but it seems like it was removed due to DMCA notices
Fuck Nintendo.
There are links for downloads or torrents all over the place. I don't have off hand but if you google you'll be able to find mediafire links for it somewhere.
>One of the NPCs in Albrook comments "what is this, 12,000 B.C.?" if talk to him while the Floating Continent is up in the sky.
It's not a rom hack.
I appreciate it user, I was able to find a download.
But still, fuck Nintendo. They're giving us Federation Force, being completely quiet on their 30th anniversary for Metroid, and trying to shut down fan projects made out of the love for the original series.
Thanks. I think i've tried before the sequel before. But it had a lot of weird mspaint tier boss designs. Did they fix that?
Project M I did play around version ehhh 3.0? It seems more catered towards tournyfags.
Omnicron was DMCA'd
Zeta Onmicron is much better
Volt White and Blaze Black pokemon hacks are generally considered to be definitive versions, what with every pokemon being catchable, trade pokemon evolutions streamlined with Covenant Ore, pokemon stats being balanced around final evolutions, and generally the game not holding your hand WITH optional hard modes on top of the already hard hack.
Nuzlocking those games are actually hard unlike literally any other game. It changes just enough to be hard without it being unfair like a lot of other hacks, the game scales very well, making the first elite 4 encounter at level 80 instead of level 50, with the game scaling in a similar fashion.
Will do sir.
So this is a romhack right? So it'll be possible to inject the rom into the wii/wiiu n64 emulation right?
>the music
>the graphics
>looks like earthbound with mother 3 combat
>that development hell
if AM2R got released and Pokemon Uranium got released, this has to come out eventually too
Is it possible to play this on my hacked wii? Or wiiu whenever I get around to hacking that.
