I don't know, to be honest I just want to play as Spike, I've only played AE1, and only really feel comfortable playing as Spike, although I have watched my friend 100% AE2 and AE3.

My ideas:
Spike: Basic all arounder.
Jimmy: The monkey on his head can track apes, but there's a cooldown if he's at less than 50% hp.
Jake: Can't use the Super Hoop or Sky Flyer, but can run and jump faster and higher than everyone else.
Yumi: Some monkeys willingly let themselves be captured by her, but she's slow.
Kei: Can throw his gadgets and pick them up later. It lets him capture monkeys from a range, but missing means they can pick it up instead. He's also just a bit slower than Spike.
Specter: Doesn't use gadgets, can do pretty much everything the kids can do just by using his psychic powers. Captures monkeys by hypnotizing them.

Also having played and beat the main game and going for the monkeys I've missed now, I can safely say this is the AE game I like the least of the main 3.
The new gadgets are very gimmicky and slow the game down, the final level was a lot of waiting due to having to use the platform.
The placement of some of the moneys are very annoying, like having gun using monkeys on a platform you have to jump to. AE3 had that as well, but there were ways around that no problem.
Also the music in this is very boring, with only a few catching I really enjoyed, there was a lot more hits then misses in AE1 and 3.
Its not a bad game, and I can see myself replaying it, but I liked the other games more.
