Where were you when Sean Murray made gaming history?

I'm not shitposting user. It truly is a wonderful game; breaking records and setting new standards.
Get off your high horse and come love it with the rest of us rational people.

I don't get why people act like a good thing. A lackluster game you can play forever sounds more like hell than a good idea.
Jaxon Flores
Hahahah What a time to be alive
That plebbit OP really needs to kill themselves.
Brayden Sanchez
This game changed hyperbole forever. Incredible! A must have! I missed my son's birth to buy and play it on release. It's just that good! Changed history forever! No day will ever be the same afterwards! 7/10!
Wyatt Butler
This game has just changed gaming history. Incredible. No game world ever created is this large and likely nothing else will ever be. I understand the polarization currently, but we all need to at least appreciate this. In fact, this goes beyond gaming. An entire digital universe can be traversed. Fucking hell, no one can actually mean that shit. Did you write this, OP? The other commenters are calling it out too.
Brody Hall
>Sup Forums is worthless because it's just people saying random stupid shit and making stupid threads over and over to shitpost >Sup Forums is worthless because it's just people profusely whining about this game over and over and if it weren't this one it'd be some other game shitpost
Yeah it's been a slice Sup Forums. Let me know when you want to at least almost try to at the very least be funny with the constant shitposting or something

All they have to do is imagine the planets being islands, and space beung an empty ocean. Its very fucking far from impressive
Noah Perry
Have these people played like 5 games in their entire life?
Alexander Gray
Its just an extension of the current obsession of pointlessly long, empty, and mechanically unfulfilling open world games. People eat this shit up, for some reason.
Mason Hughes
That's because it's a PS4 game that's running on a PC via a PS4 library/pseudo-emulator.
Levi Rodriguez
SPORE Had more variation in its planets than NMS did.
It is literally more disappointing than the most disappointing game made in the last 10 years.
Mason Anderson
how ironic

The universe in No Man's Sky isn't nearly as vast as this douchebag's ego.
Kayden Murphy
Well it's true to a certain extent, there's no skyboxes so everything in the sky is "real". No game has ever done this before. The fact that you can travel from one point to the other without some halfassed make-up loading screen inbetween just makes it better.
Sebastian Foster
It's not just a meme anymore folks, Reddit is officially the most cucked website on the internet.
Pic related, top tv show on reddit for obvious reasons.
Joseph Ramirez
sure they played skyrim 5 times what a great multiplayer game meet-up in Riften!

Fucking lol

I'm honestly somewhat dismayed that there has been so much drama overshadowing these first days of No Man's Sky. I'd just like to throw some water on this fire.
This game has just changed gaming history. Incredible. No game world ever created is this shit and likely nothing else will ever be. I understand the polarization currently, but we all need to at least appreciate this. In fact, this goes beyond gaming. An entire digital universe of nothing can be traversed. This is something special. This is going to be talked about years from now. You're experiencing a historical moment.
I'd also like to mention how special this game already is to me; I'm always trying to introduce my kids to rocks, garbage systems, lies, etc. I've tried numerous times to explain how easy it is to overprice games to them but it never quite resonates, as they're too young. Last night they watched me play, taking off from one planet and partially orbiting until finally making my way to a space station. My kids have never quite grasped nor seemed enthusiastic about games , however last night their eyes were glued to the television. My oldest child said "daddy, you really paid 60$ for this?". Tonight, they want to help me rethink my life.
Ian Ross
>My oldest child said "daddy, outer space is really big". Tonight, they want to help me explore the universe.
Yeah, this totally happened
Dominic Cruz
No. Every dedicated game's subreddit is basically a giant circlejerk praising everything about it and downvoting anyone who expresses any sort of negativity no matter how minor. It makes Sup Forums comparatively look like a bastion of free speech and debate despite being an utter shithole.
Cooper Wright

I can tell you you finsihed no man sky. Want a metal for it?
Colton Turner
Warps from universe to universe is the only loading screen. What I meant was that there's no loading screen inside the universe. Also, if you were to walk straight up on a planet, it'll take you from 4-10 hours depending on how big the planet is.
Asher Cook
Yeah, I sure do love 8 hours of non-stop 80's nostalgia jerkoff. I even love how they stole every iconic image from E.T. Oh, wait, I meant to say it was a "homage."
Owen White
Who cares if he lied? So many of you are like ZOMG HE LIED I CANT BELIEVE IT WTH HE LIED HE LIED. Hell, you got videos and such. What are you? Lawyers? What exactly are any of you gonna do about it? You act like your imaginary girlfriends just cheated on you or something

There's loading (warp) between every solar system where you can do nothing for 30 seconds as a new set of planets are generated.
Grayson Young
>No game world ever created is this large and likely nothing else will ever be
>basic procedural generation >bad procedural generation at that >somehow this is hard to do I hate this stupid meme. The shit they pulled off is not hard. They only created a few (maybe 1000) puzzleparts and let the computer do the rest.
They did a bad job at that too.
Sebastian Taylor
Kek why do devs actually demand real money for their imaginary product? It's not even tangible. I can give them software money for their software games.
Grayson Clark
*I missed my wife's son's birth
Joseph Butler
You don't fly towards other planets in minecraft
Elijah Ortiz
Dwarf Fortress beats pretty well any other game in terms of depth.
Adrian Wright
Also forgetting the loading times the game has. The cuts you get while entering other stars systems or planets. The game is barely bigger than skyrim. You just enter loading screens hidden as "speed of light" or white cuts.
Jacob Green
This game would be much better if reaching the center of the universe wasn't literally "Congratulations now keep playing" or "Congratulations now restart" prompt
Anthony Hill
>Where were you when Sean Murray made gaming history?
I was playing Frontier: Elite 2 in 1993. Which fit on a single 880 KB disk.
>Frontier: Elite II had a number of firsts to its name.It was the first game to feature procedurally generated star systems. These were generated by the game aggregating the mass of material within an early solar system into planets and moons that obey the laws of physics, but which have slightly randomised material distribution in order to ensure each system’s uniqueness.
Andrew Nguyen
>maybe 1000
Haha, I can guarantee you it's nowhere near that.
Hunter Martin
Starmade then.
Zachary Kelly
Is there even a reason to keep playing after you got all updates?
I was being generous.
Sebastian Brown
So what's in the center? A star?
Jose Morgan
YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT, THIS GAME IS ABOUT EXPLORATION AND DISCOVERY. baka @ u senpai

There's literally nothing happening in space while you're on the surface of a planet. Other plants doesn't even move. It's just a skybox dude.
Ryan Reyes
There's some lore about "Atlas", a rock that guides you to the center of the universe and gives you useless stones that occupy inventory space.
If you sell the stones and preserve inventory space you can reach the center and keep playing.
If you keep them and manage to gather 10 stones (no they don't stack you will always be handicapped by 10 less inventory spaces) you can "create a new galaxy" where you basically start from scratch.
As for what exactly is at the center, not sure, probably another fucking Atlas rock, or some 2 minutes long cutscene, I'll be able to tell once I reach it, but definitely won't bother keeping those useless stones around
Sebastian Adams
god I FUCKING HATE reddit
Easton Bell
Why people is obsessed with these stupid chain things? I have broken every single chain, ignored every single one of them for years. (I replied to you, but I have ignored like 250 or so chains and shit of the similar caliber), I will never understand what's the point of these things. To make people look like idiots? cause they sure achieved that with many, but not me.
Jaxson Green
Wrong, Starmade has skyboxes.
No it isn't, play the game. Pirate attacks happen in space.
Oliver Perry
I love the feature of trading with terminals. I mean you cant even stumble across an npc that bought your wares. Truly groundbreaking
Brandon Cox
Guess its time to pirate it and see what the turds all about.

Fuck pedos! How could anyone get off to the idea of removing a little girl's clothes and licking her tiny body all over, nibbling her neck and kissing her adorable little nipples? Only a heartless monster would think about her cute girlish mouth and tongue wrapped around a thick cock slick with her saliva, pumping in and out of her mouth until it erupts, the cum more than her little throat can swallow. The idea of thick viscous semen overflowing, dribbling down her chin over her flat chest, her tiny hands scooping it all up and watching her suck it off her fingertips is just horrible. You're all a bunch of sick perverts, thinking of spreading her smooth slender thighs, cock poised at the entrance to her pure, tight, virginal pussy, and thrusting in deep as a whimper escapes her lips which are slippery with cum, while her small body shudders from having her cherry taken in one quick stroke. I am disgusted at how you'd get even more excited as you lean over her, listening to her quickening breath, her girlish moans and gasps while you hasten your strokes, her sweet pants warm and moist on your face and her flat chest, shiny with a sheen of fresh sweat, rising and falling rapidly to meet yours. It is truly nasty how you'd run your hands all over her tiny body while you violate her, feeling her nipples hardening against your tongue as you lick her chest, her neck and her armpits, savoring the scent of her skin and sweat while she trembles from the stimulation and as she reaches her climax, hearing her cry out softly as she has her first orgasm while that cock is buried impossibly deep inside her, pulsing violently as an intense amount of hot cum spurts forth and floods through her deflowered pussy for the first time, filling her womb only to spill out of her with a sickening squelch. And as you lie atop her flushed body, she sighs breathlessly and her fingers dig into your back as she feels your cock hardening inside her again. You're all sick in the head.
Ryder Barnes
when people downvote you, you have to wait 10 minutes to make another comment because of bad karma
reddit is more cancerous than a normal forum
Blake Moore
And yet you still replied. Top kek.
Jeremiah Green
There's nothing at the center, there's an option to go to the center identical to the options to go to the next planet, there's a fade to white, a fade to black, and then you're in a new galaxy.
It's New Game plus.
Brandon Hughes
The only thing that comes to get you in star made are other players or space pirates. The game is bugged and in alpha, but it came out first. Also there is galacticraft mod for minecraft, which let's you build your space ship and travel to mars, moon, asteroid belt, and if you use addons, neptune, jupiter, etc.
Oliver Mitchell
They're different, one game lost features the further it was in development while the other didn't get any at all.

it's fun but how do you make $ ? I find emeril deposits and go nuts, collect 2 thousand but then never find somewhere going more than 3%. I just went through the black hole. What am I doing wrong? I can never reliably get over 500K credits!

>“The physics of every other game—it’s faked,” the chief architect Sean Murray explained. “When you’re on a planet, you’re surrounded by a skybox—a cube that someone has painted stars or clouds onto. If there is a day to night cycle, it happens because they are slowly transitioning between a series of different boxes.” The skybox is also a barrier beyond which the player can never pass. The stars are merely points of light. In No Man’s Sky however, every star is a place that you can go. The universe is infinite. The edges extend out into a lifeless abyss that you can plunge into forever.
>“With us,” Murray continued, “when you're on a planet, you can see as far as the curvature of that planet. If you walked for years, you could walk all the way around it, arriving back exactly where you started. Our day to night cycle is happening because the planet is rotating on its axis as it spins around the sun. There is real physics to that. We have people that will fly down from a space station onto a planet and when they fly back up, the station isn't there anymore; the planet has rotated. People have filed that as a bug.”
Aiden Smith
what said is very impotent, lets talk about this
Isaiah Edwards
This whole experience is truly going to make me cry :')
Might just buy another copy direct from Hello Games just to give them all the support they need in these trying times

Only to ask what's the point boyo. But ok, feed your fragile ego of master b8 and think that (You)s are the same as something worth of any value. Maybe you don't cry to sleep tonight, who knows.

Can I be FUCKING real for a second?
This community is fucking atrocious right now. You're all acting like a bunch of whiny, entitled little babies.
A tiny team of people made an entire universe for you to explore. They made it for YOU, and they're going to wake up tomorrow morning and see that instead of enjoying it, this community of "fans" picked out the 3 or 4 things that weren't perfect and are using that to fucking riot.
Guess what? The game was never going to be perfect. It was never going to live up to your hype. It was never going to be everything you'd ever want in a game.
What it WAS going to be was an impossibly big universe filled with mysteries and weird shit. I just played it for 2 hours and it was exactly that. What more do you want?
Is it buggy? Sure. Is it repetitive? Maybe. Is the inventory system imperfect and the multiplayer feature questionable and the structure unclear? Sure, fine.
But holy shit what do these people OWE YOU?
How fucking entitled do you have to be to explore an infinite universe in a spaceship and then say "yeah but..."
We should all be fucking weeping in our chairs right now at the sheer size and scale of the achievement. We should be showering the people behind this thing with the praise they deserve for pulling off one of the most inspiring games in recent memory.
Hello Games doesn't owe you the world. Yet they gave you 18 QUINTILLION of them.
If you have the fucking audacity to complain about it then you don't deserve it and you were never fans in the first place.

You and SLUTS like you are the reason why games have be casualized to the point of not being fun.You are only embracing this "nerd culture" because its the in thing to do. Where were you 15 years ago when I was getting thrown in lockers and beat up because I was a nerd playing video games? Oh yea thats right, you were on your knees sucking jock Chads COCK LIKE A WHORE. Fuck you, you aren't a true gamer. Mobile and facebook games ARE NOT TRUE GAMES. Even if you play on console or pc , you play the most basic flavor of the month easy games and act like you are so into the "culture". You aren't even good at games I bet, you fucking BITCH. So yes I do like games, I like video games a lot, which is why I hate you because you are what is wrong with games nowadays. I wish you would just leave now, thank you.
