What will be 2016's GOTY and why is it gonna be Dishonored 2?
Walk on, gold dust woman...
>90 days until Dishonored 2
>Corvo literally has no new abilities whatsoever
Wow...sure will be fun playing as Corvo in this sequel.
It's either this or Hitman™ (after it's done and leaves Early Access)
>written by one of the most deluded, raging feminists to ever call herself a games """""journalist"""""
nah m8
Oh God please tell me this isn't true
I did not hear of this
>This game is gonna be bad because some literal who feminist wrote the story
I want neo-Sup Forums to leave, who gives a shit about the story?
To be fair that's why they give you Emily. If you want something totally new she's there, if you want the old stuff and just want to use it in new environments then Corvo's there.
I also thought I heard you can level abilities into different things. Like they'd do different shit depending on how you upgrade them. I may be remembering that wrong, but if so that should change it up a little.
Source?
This
I couldn't tell you a damn thing about the story in dishonored but I had a ton of fun playing it
I have high hopes for it, but it won't beat W3
Then why bother putting Corvo in at all? That's so fucking stupid
He doesn't have new abilities, per say, but he does have new upgrades to abilities.
Blink now has time-stop like Daud's
You can timestop so that time moves slower or faster (you can make the game go at 2x the speed)
You can chain-possess things (from a bloodfly to a bird)
But yeah, the actual completely new abilities are with Emily.
So that fans of the original can play through it as the character they liked and with the abilities they know. Instead of giving Emily possibly redundant powers or leaving powers out that Corvo had they just allow you to play as Corvo. So if I don't like Emily's set of abilities I can just go back to what I know.
It seems pretty neat to me. Maybe not necessary, but it allows for people like me who enjoyed the first game's set of abilities and Corvo's character to just do more of the same if I so choose.
Who?
...
It adds replayability, I like it too.
Because Blinking and Time Stopping and Possessing is still cooler
Witcher 3 was released last year, mate.
Mount and Blade: Bannerlord GOTY
I actually like Dishonored's setting and lore, but yeah, the story of 1 wasn't very good.
Witcher 3 was shit m8
...
Both of these
hate to break it to you but
tw3 sucked
>squidward
thats squilliam you fuckwit
>objectively considered game of the year for 2015
>shit
wew opinion discarded
>the glitcher 3 : shit combat
>objectively considered game of the year for 2015
haha no
More like turd of the year for 2015.
>hehe xD edgy nu-Sup Forums doesn't like popular games cuz we contrarians and shieeet
summer has to end sooner or later
Yeah don't worry, you'll be back to school soon.
Everyone knows the GOTY 2015 was tied between Bloodborne and Splatoon.
Objective top 10 of the year will be:
10: civ vi
9: COD: Infinite Warfare
8: Ratchet and Clank
7: Dishonored 2
6: Uncharted 4
5: Dark Souls 3
4: SFV
3: D44m
2: FF xv
1: GOTY: The last guardian
>Implying the Outsider would ever allow such a thing
How the fuck is COD IW on there, and battlefield 1 isn't?
Honestly both could be switched around for all i care, depends on whether you're in the mood for space or ww1.
I CANT DEAL WITH DIS
Probably not. Dishonored was one of the best games of 2014, but
>Probable non silent protag
>Graphic fidelity looks upgraded, but artsyle is downgraded
>Lore is going to shit, e.g., muh sharks
>Main talent from first game is on Prey now
Prey will be better, albeit in 2017
>D44m and DS3
>Not the Witness and Obduction
I feel like this is a pretty biased list towards more well known developers, cause Witness, while not for everyone, was a pretty fucking good for people who liked puzzle shit.
>Good for people who liked x
>Not for everyone
That's the definition of niche user
Yes, and?
Niche =/= ineligible for GoTY
Yes.
Something that is to be crowned game of the year needs widespread appeal to get the title. However, something smaller like Wargame of the year like CMANO became according to whoever is fine.
Best of its very very niche genre. But hardly the best game of the year. If only because literally no one knows about it.
Every ability will have 3-5 upgrades so Corvo shouldn't feel exactly the same.
>wanting to play Emily at all when Corvo is being voiced by Stephen Russel
To the pits with you taffer.
Dishonored came out in 2012.
>probably non silent protag
This is a good thing. Having Corvo be silent added nothing to the game. Daud in the DLC having a personality and talking was good and it'll be good in Dishonored 2 too. It's similar to Thief.
>Graphic fidelity looks upgraded, but artsyle is downgraded
Kind of right but I like it. The style is still exaggerated and everything.
>Lore is going to shit, e.g., muh sharks
Explain this more. What do you mean by sharks? I think a lot of things people complain about this is because the devs aren't using their headcanon for the game's lore.
>Main talent from first game is on Prey now
Nope. Prey is the b team. The original team in France is working on Dishonored 2.
>>Lore is going to shit, e.g., muh sharks
What?
Havent kept up with this game at all.
Why Emily instead of someone else? Anyone else.
>Outsider gives you powers
>Just happens to give the only other important character powers too
>She isnt running her empire
Shit.
Emily is overthrown at the beginning of the game so that's probably when she gets her powers. The Outsider isn't just going to give some random guy powers though. He wants conflict because it's interesting. So having a bunch of people in the same area having these powers makes things interesting. That's why he gave powers to Daud, then Corvo, then Emily. I think he gave Delilah (who overthrows Emily) her powers too, though I'm not sure.
And she was already described as being touched by the Outsider in the first game so it's not out of nowhere.
You're probably too young to understand what silent MC can do. The sense of freedom is amazing compared to playing a character who constantly says things that you'd never want your character to say. I liked Daud's DLC because it was literally a side story.
It can work at times but in Dishonored it doesn't add anything. Imagine playing Deus Ex or Thief and the main character not talking at times.
He totally gave powers to Delilah, she sorta was her favorite after Daud started to bore him.
